For those of you asking, yes we are finding out the sex. With the 12w scan it definately looked like a BOY but the doc said we musnt be mad as it could maybe change...

Well not much to report this side. Tomorrow will be Iris' last day at the day mom So I will have to start entertaining & stimulating her more at home.

Ally i am in the same boat as you, K also wants his dummy at bedtime and there is no negociating so im also stuck on that one. He never use's his dummy at school when it comes to naptimes but at home he insists. He knows he is only allowed it when he is in bed for the night.

afm, all is well, K behaving very well behaved lately, hardly no tantrums (unless for dummy) touch wood. He is also speaking to nicely and has such a brilliant imagaination with his toys. He told me 8 kids name's in his class yesterday and i was so suprised that he knew them. His teacher also said that he likes to be cheeky at times like when she tells them its time to do their streches he stands and says "no no" with a huge smile on his face lol. We are getting their assesments on friday, looking forward to seeing what they say.

Anyway quite a hectic day, work on projects this morning and then meetings this afternoon.

Ally we still have the night dummy too and I also want to get rid of it. Am going to be strong and try when I get home. Funny thing is he knows where his dummy is and he can reach it easily but doesn't. He is very set in his ways so I think he only associates it with bedtime, but I must say he doesn't ask for his dummy first anymore so maybe he is loosing interest. One can only hope.

More because he wakes me up looking for it.

Mandy I enjoyed my day thanks. Actually went out for dinner with everyone tonight and had a fab time. Drank a little too much and have a very early morning and have to do the hospital thing tomorrow afternoon.

Ally - you will have to find something that works for you.. but i really did find that Cameron likes HELPING and he feels like a big boy around babies if I emphasise it, so I talked to him for weeks when he saw anyone younger than him and said, shammeee, that little boy or baby needs your dummy. Youre such a big boy, why dont you give him your dummy shame, poor little baby, give it to him??? and while it didnt work for a few tries, i still encouraged it, and then one day he sought out his dummy and give it to the baby on my suggestion and then as soon as he wanted his dummy i distracted him with another favourite thing, at that time, I offered him a chocolate milk instead and it seemed to work...

on supernanny, she bought a fairy doll with a basket and told the child that if they give the dummy to the fairy then she will bring them a really big toy and then she rewarded them with something awesome instead...im sure you can come up with something??

Ally I have no experience with dummies...but I reckon like weaning with bottle...u have to leave them to scream for a few nights? It'll be hard...but I assume the only option?

Mandy, I love the sticker idea. I am going to start it with the dummies soon. I am so embarrassed that my kids STILL haven't dropped the dummy during bed times and they climb the cupboards to find them and I sometimes only notice they have them in their mouths hours afterwards! I don't know what to do because I've snipped the ends off dummies and they just continuously HOWL until I get another one. They definitely won't be able to sleep without them yet so I'm a bit concerned. Everybody keeps telling me to leave them and they'll throw them away themselves but I doubt that's EVER going to happen. I can imagine me telling Aidan to take his dummy out of his mouth before he kisses his bride one day! Any suggestions?

Christi, sorry about the job. People are real assholes when it comes to pregnancy sometimes!!

Simone, no they are actually not allowed to ask those sort of questions, but hey, there is a lot of things employers are actually not allowed to do which they do in any case... SAD but true!
