Nicole Dylan has a weekly theme at school and we are given the full year's themes in advance so we can do it at home too.

The school uses the letterland system so my mom bought him the alphabet book so that we use the same words the school does.

He sings about 5 songs now. Mostly clearly. He knows the basic shapes. Colours not so much although he insists on correcting us and animals. He counted to 10 quite early on and counts objects till about 6.

He is also starting to sort things. A bit worried as he seems to be a bit too particular. He groups all stickers together so all the same size stars together and snakes together regardless of which potty he uses. He also moves his start into a straight line. A bit ocd!

We don't really teach him things but rather talk to him when we go for walks and point things out.

Angelique I'm glad Cole is doing better;-) Re: Stuttering...how long has he been doing it? I'd say ride it out for about a week..if it persists maybe just consult your paed? Sometimes they think they sound funny so maybe its just a 'game' to him?

AFM Cole is doing much better and was super excited to go back to daycare today...BUT..for one or other reason he has started stuttering...and it's really bad...as in "wha, wha, wha, wha, wha, what's that mommy? etc...

Should Ibe concerned, advice please..?

I actually want to find big numbers to put up all over the house. She recognises a number when she sees one...but she wont know that a '2' is a '2'...she just knows its a number (Like in MTN she told me 'look there's a number'). So I'm working on that now as well.

Cute re: singing!!! We sing 'you are my sunshine'...and I could die its so adorable. These kids are in a great phase....we need to remember all these cute things when they are teenagers and preteens driving us over the edge! lol

Simone we are also teaching K to count things, at the moment he can count up to 10, so everynight we go through his counting book and count the objects, also i take about 10 of his cars and drive them to a certain point and count each car, he is definatly catching the hang of it.

Oh my word, Keiran sings parts of incy wincy spider and it sounds so freaking cute, we sing that song and twinkle little star every night whilst i am getting him ready for bed. love it.
