Vix and Julz...I am on CD33 now. YEsterday I thought AF was starting cause I had quite a bit of blood (TMI SORRY) when I went to the loo. So I put a pad on...later there was not a drop. Dh and I had some ooh la la time and still nothing afterwards...and today nothing.

I have had NO signs of ovulation either...so I'm guessing this cycle was a bust.

HOw do the ovulation kits work? I really am so in the dark as to the length of my cycle....or should I just try and track it for 3 months?

I read on net if cycle longer than 35 days it could mean I am not even ovulating? So dumb question...is AF not a sign that I did ovulate at some point..even if my cycle is around 40-50 days?

Ok I'm not going to get involved...I'm just going to tell you ladies what happened to us.

At 36w my gynae went on leave and she was meant to come back the Tuesday and I had the babies the Saturday. I knew that the fact that I made it past 36w was a huge achievement and I knew that the chances of her not being able to deliver my babies were highly likely. So I asked her to recommend a gynae that has the same values and work ethic as her and she did. It so happens that this gynae was also my aunt's gynae and she delivered both my cousins. So I completely trusted her as well. I went to her for a scan on the Thursday and she picked up some protein in my urine and that I had high blood pressure. She asked me to take it easy that day and then come back the next day and the Friday everything was the same. So she told me they had to admit me into hospital and see if anything happens in the next few hours but I will definitely have had my babies by Sunday. I was terrified as I'd only been to this gynae twice and I didn't know her. But I knew that was what was best for me and the twins, even though it was mild pre-eclempsia, we could have all still died. I didn't want them to come out then but I had no choice. This gynae was absolutely incredible (actually better than mine in my opinion).
The twins were born at really good weights and Aidan has a bit of breathing problems for about 2 hours, after which the paed said she wants to keep them in NICU. I asked why if they are fine and she said that they keep 95% of twins in NICU because you might take them home and they will be fine but anything might happen (they don't feed well, they struggle with their breathing, they can't regulate their temps) and then you have to bring them back to Hospital. But then, they get admitted into the normal children's ward and then you're (probably) prem babies are lying with children with infectious diseases etc. and that's problematic. So they keep them in NICU rather, even if it is just for a day or 2 to be sure.

Ok, that was my 2c worth on that topic.

I've been the worst mom in the world today. I am so short-tempered today and have shouted at the twins probably 10 times. Why is it that on days where you are feeling off, they are at their most naughty!!!

Lelani I am not sure I can make the 4th because of the Noddy party. It starts at 5 in somerset west and I want Dylan to be well rested.

Lelani we have no plans in CT...so if you want the 4th that's fine with me. We're literally just going to go with the flow.

New bed? i'm so jealous!!! We so badly need a new one! Well lets hope af goes away asap so you can enjoy the new bed;-)

dh bought us a new bed on sunday & WOW!!!! it's amazing what diff a new bed can do for you're back!!!!
still need to get used to the idea of it being so high (wish we had it after the c-sec) but it's so nice & firm

No my gynae has not said he WILL take them out before he goes on leave, we absolutely have not ever discussed when he will take them out because it's a pointless topic of conversation when we don't even know if i will make it so far. We literally take each week as it comes and every day the babies are inside they are getting stronger and stronger. I have just said i would prefer to have them out by 36w before my Dr goes on leave that's all.

If i was having a singleton i would never in my life consider taking it out before term even though my Dr would still be going on leave.

Twins develop in utero at exactly the same rate as a singleton baby in fact in some cases the development is at a slightly higher rate because they have additional stimuli inside and they also battle for nutrition so their bodies are more fit for 'fighting' to survive in comparison to a singleton in equivalent weeks. The only difference is their weight gain in the final months is slower than a singleton but babies are simply laying down layers of fat in the final 2 months.

I do think it's great the support and concern i get from each and everyone of you and i am eternally grateful but you wanted to know my reasoning so i am giving it. I too am pleased Mandy stood up and asked the question if that's what everyone was thinking but couldn't bear to ask.

She wanted to know why so i explained why.

oh and the boys not as strong as girls thing........ please don't emphasize that too much because if i was having 2 girls it also wouldn't be 'right' now would it?

If i get to 36w my babies will be so much stronger than all the 33w birth stories we have been talking about all week and all those babies are strong, happy and healthy children now.
