OHHHH MYYY FFLLIPPPEEEN HECCKKK!! VIX congrats and congrats! I always miss the good stuff when it happens and it really is good stuff!

Vix - i would also be as nervous as you but all those reasons you gave, wont happen. You have conquered your fears and you know are stronger wiser and more in control, yes it will be hard, but honestly vix, you are made of rocks, you are one of the strongest women i know! God was VERY clever when he gave us 9 months to get used to things - I swear, you tried double as hard as most of us to get pregnant so you have been blessed twice as much! Also, now you know this will most likely be your last pregnancy - so enjoy it my friend.. and ally has been a great help in showing you how!! if she can figure it out as a first time mom, you will do fine as a second AND THIRD time mom!!

Nicole - your dress is stunning! and similar to my cut of dress but i took out all the puffyness and got the dress for R2000!! I will try to post pics this week end if i can figure it out

Pfairy congrats on the job my friend, sorry abou the pay package!!! dammit!

guys, no news here i am still so overwhelmed with Vix news, so you must be feeling OOOOVVVEERRRRWHHEELLMMMEEEDD! I would probably feel the same things that you were saying, but your friends here on moomie can see the good in it all for you!! so WE WILL GET YOU THROUGH IT!!

Mandy, send me your address.

Glad you girls like your little gift. I just wanted to say thanks for all your special friendship... everyone of you really means a lot.

I've got a nice gift idea on my blog. Xander and mia made it for my mom for her birthday and she was crying when she saw it. and it looks great as home decor: makecreatedo.wordpress.com/2010/06/24/children-art-on-canvas/

Vix have your pity party as long as u want! we all know how difficult it is with one child....u mention the colic, pnd....ally will probably be able to tell u how much more daunting 2 newborns were as well...all valid concerns and pity party contributors.... I always remember thinking twins are so cute...but now that I had one baby I can't imagine 2! BUT that being said....it will be daunting and difficult...but i am positive it will get better. U guys will get into a routine, elwyn is so supportive now...u have friends on this forum that u are so close to (in distance as well) that I am sure will be offering support. Things will work out.

We will all hope and pray your twinnies will stay put for a decent time...and like the twins not be in hospital for too long.

U don't sound ungrateful at all. I read a twin mommy on pf that said her twins were easier than her first single child...so lets keep fx u'll be saying the same a year from now!

Let me know what to bring for pity party when I pop in again...balloons? Non alcoholic champagne? (ok 1 small glass of alcoholic can't hurt surely??)

Helen the service u have gotten re:car is shocking!! That is terrible! I hope it bloody gets sorted out now!

Cute re: baby movement!

Re:sil...shame man..i think now they'd rather cling to any hope than having to face her losing her battle. We can pray and hope that it is not false hope though. Keep us updated!

Vix what has elwyn said?

Vix, can I join you for the Pity Party. Although I've received good news today (job-wise), I've got mixed emotions right now. They've appoint me on the minimum salary for my Paterson level. I feel sad about that, because it feels like I only mean the minimum to them. my salary will drop with R6000. And just before they gave me my appointment letter, someone was telling about the 7 figure bonusses they got at our corporate office. and how they fly (on the company's account) to cape town to watch a soccer match. And that make me sad... we produce the gold - we must cut cost - we must let people go. but the main office that brings no income, spend the most money.

But this afternoon, while driving from work, I saw a guy sitting next to the road. cold. and I thought: I am moaning about money and about my job. and this guy.... he's got nothing. I fell so bad.

Vix, a few years ago, a woman visited us. she had twins. and she was only breastfeeding them. till 6 month. But firstly get over the shock... I know it is a huge shock for you. But I know you will just be the BEST mommy there is. And you will be just fine.

It was my dad's 60th birtday yesterday. for his gift, we will be giving him a party tomorrow. Potjiekos.... one oxtail pot, one short rib pot and one chicken pot. I will be baking my BIG famous bread. and for desert: malva pudding and Death by chocolate pudding. there will be around 20 people. so a busy busy busy day tomorrow.

Nicole, the dress is beautiful. Like I said before, I will also help. because I had the wedding stationary business, I can help you getting your paper etc at a low price. I can help you with the wording. and for any ideas, just asked.... (Ally, me and you can open a family wedding business).

Simone, holding thumb for you for the job.

Julz, I just love the dress you were showing. I had something like that in mind for my next wedding.... next year. we want to renew our vows with our 10 th year anniversary.

Nelria, how is xen now?

we are having a great week with Mia. she was sleeping every night (touch wood) for the whole night. woke up after us. sleeping from 6:30 pm. hope she will continue her good behavior, or other wise no pocket money for her.

Shame Vix, sorry you must've entered your post whilst I was busy typing. You're pregnant, you are allowed to have a pity party ;) I'm sure finding out its twins is not something you might be over the moon about immediately and no doubt Ally will be the best one to empathise with you. Allow yourself to wallow as long as you need and try not to think about all the what-ifs (always easy to say, not so easy to do I know ;) ). You are a fabulous mummy and you have learnt so much with C so you are well prepared for whatever comes your way, I don't doubt that I am not alone in saying you will be absolutely fine with twins, believe in yourself girl :)

Hello everyone,

First off, BLOODY HELL VIX!! Wow :) How exciting is that? Its the best news I've heard all week and I can't stop smiling for you :) I know it must be daunting but what fab news ;)

I'm going to try and remeber as much as I can but I'm afraid the memory isn't too great at the moment (must be prridge brain, I left my car unlocked all night, I forgot to put soap powder in with the washing and several other equally stupid things all in the last few days).

Simone I'm holding thumbs something comes up for you jobwise, I know its easy for us all to say but just try to stay positive and keep your eyes and ears open, often with these things its not what you know but who you know ;)

PFairy - Congrats on the permanency :) That's also fab news. And your blog is brilliant (sorry if I've said that already I can't rememeber if I said it in a previous post or if I've just thought it) :)

Nicole the wedding dress is divine!! I had all these ideas about what I wanted and had looked at pictures etc but then when it actually came to trying things on I found that all the things I thought I liked didn't look or feel like 'me', I felt like a person wearing a beautiful wedding dress, not like Helen in her wedding dress (I hope that makes sense?!), I ended up going for a completely different style to what I had thought I'd wanted. I suggest you try some dresses on just to get an idea then its easier to know exactly what you want ;)

Simone and Ara - I don't do retail accounts, far too dangerous for me lol. We have an Edgars account and Truworths account but there is never more than R300 on it and I just keep it ticking over for all the freebies lol.

Angie - The funiture etc will come in time, just rememeber that now the place is yours so you have all the time in the world to make it your own ;) Are you enjoying having your own space?

Nelria - Hope Xen is feeling better. Sorry if I've missed it but I was wondering today if there's any developments with your brother and that weird (sorry) girl? Is she still pregnant?

Christi - I'm so glad your new job is going well, I'm sure Iris will settle soon enough.

Ally - Congrats on the blog. Its doing so well :) Just oput of curiosity, do you have a recipe that you will never share? Some secret family recipe or something? I'm just being nosey lol ;)

OK I think that's all I can remember for now...not too bad for a Friday evening ;)

AFM we are well, I can feel baby moving now which is cool, more of a roller than a kicker at the moment but I'm sure that will change as it gets bigger. I always find it funny when people say it feels like bubbles or butterflies because its always felt so much more definite than that for me, I always say it feels like a massage ball but from the inside lol. I know I'm weird ;)

Thanks for all the kind words WRT Theo's sister, we've had some slightly more positive news, they've since found out that the cancer is a totally new cancer and completely different from what she's had before so there is a chance that there might be some treatment. Everyone is very positive about these new developments, Theo's family are all excited about the news and are extremely hopeful (and I know this sounds soooo awful and I feel terrible about feeling this way) but (please forgive me) I can't help but feel right now that it is false hope, she's gone from being given the all clear a mere four weeks ago to developing an aggressive cancer in three places, the worst being in her bones and from what little I know of cancer once it reaches your bones the outlook can never be good. They will find out for sure on Monday as that is when all the results from all the tests will be available and the specialist will review her situation in detail and give her the breakdown of what her options are from here (I don't know why they didn't do this in the first place to be honest). Theo is flying down to Cape Town tonight, I feel bad for him, needless to say we hadn't budgeted for a trip to Cape Town this month so we've had to get him the cheapest flights possible so he's leaving at 3am this morning and then flies back on Monday morning at 6am so he's going to be shattered by the time he gets back. He keeps saying he doesn't want to go because he has so much to do around the house and doesn't want to leave me alone but I think its so important for him to be with his family right now. I'm a bit nervous about being alone as the electric fence isn't working yet and we don't have security but we are in a boomed off area and the house is a pan handle so I'm completely surrounded by neighbours so I'm sure it will all be fine. My biggest concern is getting cold at night lol, Theo is like my permanent electric blanket, I feel the cold and he radiates heat so he keeps our bed nice and warm ;)

And as for my car, that's another story altogether, i picked it up and the bastards have used all shoddy secondhand parts and it looks shocking and now my back driver's side door doesn't open (WTF?! it wasn't even damaged). I've sent it back and told them I don't want it back until its fixed properly. Can you believe these insurance companies?! I thought it might've been the panel beaters being cowboys but the guy showed me all the paperwork showing that Dial Direct had approved only secondhand parts. Absolutely disgusting.

Anyways, that's me for now, hope you all have a lovely weekend, a big hello to all the ladies I've missed :)

PS Vix I stil can't believe it hehehehehehe :)

Hi guys,

Having a bit of a pity party tonight but I promise not to be a sore loser for too long.

Thanks for all the double congrats. I was very very shocked, I haven't yet reached excited and now I feel like crying, I'm feeling very sorry for myself right now because I really wanted this pregnancy to go well, reach full term and have a colic free, breastfed baby and now I'll be lucky to make it to full term, My babies may very well go into NICU for a period of time and I may well struggle to BF 2 babies especially when they can't come home with home with me straight away.

I think you'll all remember my excitement last mmonth at only having 1 baby so although I know everyone says it's a blessing for me at the moment it's not that great. I suffered PND with my first, really don't want that again! I know I sound ungrateful, in time I will feel happy and excited but at the moment I'm having a bit of a pity party!

Simone- Christi explained it perfectly, you get identical and fraternal twins. Mine are the same as Ally's fraternal twins. I O'd on 2 different dates I think, (julz might remember looking at my chart) I had a temp spike on day 10 that looked like Ovulation but it was too early so thought nothing of it, then on day 16 I had a clear Ovulation temp spike and a positive Ovulation test. The twins are about 6-7 days apart so it would make sense although once you Ovulate your body sgould instantly produce progesterone which will stop any further Ovulation.

After showing you guys the last scan I agreed that it must be a yolk sac and was highly pleased there was only one baby. I haven't been anywhere near as tired and sick as I was with C so Twins never crossed my mind.

My massage was lovely and very well needed this afternoon!

PFairy- congrats on your permanent position! Must be such a relief!

Simone- time to hit the Interviews like crazy girlfriend. Most of the worlds most successful people have been turned down from many positions along the line so if Coke say no thanks don't be discouraged, the right job will come and it'll offer so much more than what you're doing now.

I have never bought on account, just grew up knowing if I didn't have cash I dodn't have new things, we were very poor when growing up in England, I used to work on the weekends when I was 15 at wimpy, I earnt 30 pounds for about 18hrs work and that is what me, my mum and sister lived on. Store cards were just out of the question and I's not something I've thought about since.

I haven't had new clothes in about 3 years including during pregnancy, I wore all my regular clothes so thankfully I didn't need to buy maternity gear. I just rotate winter and summer wear every year.

I didn't see many of the dresses, sorry my phone doesn't load the pics so will have to check on the PC later.
