Cols

if not Reuteri drops, give him the baby pribiotics, one sachet once a day in his formula, smells yummy and it puts back all the good stuff he is losing.... few days and you will see results

Charn, oops ok I actually mix fruit and yoghurt together for dinner for Evan when he's sick. I also sometimes give fruit as breakfast or lunch. I will have to change that. I think you're right not to force feed her. She will tell you how much she can handle. Have you tried making french toast? Evan loves that. I make it the normal way with a little cinamon to flavour. MIL said I should make some boiled eggs for him. I know my niece loved scrambled eggs at this age.

Kerry, thanks hun, that actually makes me feel loads better :) . I've been giving him rueteri drops already because of the antibiotics. I left a message for his paed to call me but hopefully it's nothing... I want to get out of here by 3 so I can get more rehydrate at the pharmacy for him.

Have to think of something for dinner tonight. Maybe I should do tuna noodles with cheese on top?

cols! Youre an excellent mommy.... no one can do anything to stop a child needing grommets! Thats like blaming yourself because his hair is brown! Cmon!

The late crawling, well i hate to tell you this but thats due to the ear infections/need for Grommets - the blocked ears cause a balancing problem and if a baby cant balance he/she won't learn to crawl as easily. So yes he has had a little setback, but i wouldn't stress he will catch up in no time!

The poo nappies sound very much like teething... K is doing the same and the only thing our darling GP could offer is 1 - Ponstal for the pain and 2 - reuteri pro-biotic to help settle the tummy...

The tummy actually seems better, but i warn you it isn't easy getting 5 drops into the mounth of a writhing screaming child!

I don't know about the throwing up though, unless he has a runny nose and perhaps its phlegm?

I wouldn't stress too much about the grommets... what will happen if there is a problem now is the grommet will fall out and you will see yellow discharge in the ears. but i am sure all is fine.

:-)

Shame Cols - sounds hectic :( Don't beat yourself up about it though - some children unfortunately just does get sick a bit more than others :( Hope its nothing serious and that it is over now.

As for snacks, they said I could give her fresh fruit or a jar of fruit or dessert for a snack, but not for a meal. Also, a slice of bread as a snack  This is more or less what they want me to feed her:

Breakfast: Cereal & Yoghurt
Snack: Slice of Bread with cheese, marmite or peanut butter
Lunch: 1 Protein and 2 Veg
Snack: Fresh Fruit or Jar of Fruit or dessert
Supper: 1 Protein and 2 or 3 Veg

So, I am trying to do this, but she doesn't always want everything and I am not going to force her to eat. Also, she prefers to feed herself.

Sho it’s so hectic at work, stealing away a few minutes to reply to you all... :(

Ok, BabyK has offered to do the bread, Kerry is doing desert, if you ladies want to bring along some snacks that would be cool and then we’re sorted :) Thanks so much :)

I’ll pm you all my house address and directions.. What time is good for you ladies to come through. I will start the poitjie early so we aren’t all eating our arms waiting for it to be ready :)

Sher, thanks for letting me know. I have been so busy I haven’t called her in a while! I better call her today to catch up. Wow, that is brilliant. I love cooking but suck at following recipes. I always deviate. I kind of get the gist of what the recipe requires and then do my own thing ;) DH can cook well but sometimes he gets too adventurous with his concoctions :P

Charn, Emily is doing SO well! Well done to you! Gee, Evan is so far behind! I’m still trying to get him to crawl and wave. My mom said I hardly crawled and Barry only started crawling after 9months. WRT feeding, I always give Evan yoghurt and rice cakes. Never thought it was a problem. Did they recommend any other snacks? Evan loves toast too. I can’t really say what his dinner preference is because every time I think we’re settling he gets sick again :( He loved his fish fingers, rice and pees the other night.

So, Evan was throwing up last night, like every 1 ½ and this morning he had monster poos, I actually had to bath him after the 2nd one... He wouldn’t eat breakfast but apparently had a little bit of lunch and he seems to be a bit better. No more poo nappies. I am really feeling like a failure of a mommy at the moment. He keeps getting sick and I just don’t know what I am doing. Now I’m worried that something’s gone wrong with his grommets (Im paranoid). His teacher thinks he might be teething again. I have no clue...

Hi ladies
When are we going to have a Cpt meet?

D eats very well (meat, veggies, yoghurt etc) but I can't give her rice cakes or pasta or anything that is too big as she takes big bites and starts to choke, so everything must be pureed (and she can only eat the Baby Mum Mum rusks as they dissolve nicely)
