Wow you ladies have been so busy again. Work and life has been very busy and I havent had a chance to catch up again...

Girly, I am so so happy that things are going so well with your baby k! It is such awesome news!!!I hope your flu is clearing up fast?

Eileen, I am so glad your dedication service went well. I am still trying to get the priest from my gran's church to call me back. He had a huge heart op at the end of last year and has only just gotten back. Her church in in Boksburg but it's the church she's gone to for over 80years now. We were all Christened there, all my families funerals have been there and some of our weddings too. So it's important to me that that is where Evan be Christened too...

So cute about losing baby under the table cloth! I love that! Evan still only goes sideways and backwards in his walker. He rolls all over the place and this morning he was lying 90degrees to where he was last night! He thought it was hysterical and was laughing and playing in his cot. He sits very well now and I let him sit in the bath, and on the blanket. I am always there to catch him if he is about to topple but he sits for ages now...

Evan's also being naff about eating at the moment. He has flu AGAIN so i can understand why. It's just difficult... I hope it clears up soon... He had a growth spurt the week before last and ate like a demon... 5 x 210ml bottles and all his solids. Now he barely finishes 2 1/2 bottles and maybe eats half his meals...

It's DH's birthday today so I am going to make him seared tuna steaks and wild mushroom rissotto and creme caramel for desert. I've never made rissotto before so wish me luck !

Charnenay - you must take a video of her dancing! It must be too cute to watch!

KerryA -how awesome are thos cuddles! it's the best!!!
Sucks that people let you down while you are away... I had similar issues even though I did a dummies guide and everything... I'm glad your boss was ok with it and at least you know it wasnt your fault...

BabyK - I wouldn't worry i bet you he can roll and sit he probably just doesn't want to... i am sure a little motivation may help... something along the lines of him waiting for that choice momemt when nobodys looking...

I weighed Kaelyn over the weekend and she was still only 7.6 but she's big i am sure if you watched closely you could see her growing!

Eileen - So glad everything went well you can make photo's from the DVD, no trouble at all actually.

Ouch - sorry about the muscles... i have a pretty good idea what that feels like... shame man, but its for a good cause!

and yes she cuddles like a pro... at first it was only reserved for me... but yesterday daddy got some too... she sorta puts her hands around your neck and buries her head into you... so very sweet! she also lifts her arms for you, in fact i have started "asking" her before i pick her up...

Charnenay - dancing? Wow! Kaelyn does the mimmic thing as far as making some sounds and sticking her tongue out... but not dancing...
I am sure the weight thing will be okay, shes just getting used to solids.

Phew that was alot huh? Now what did i want to say again? LOL

just had to grovel to my boss... a colleage made a mistake while i was away and one of my clients SARS payment bounced because there wasnt enough money in the account... so i had to ask my boss to pay the interest and penalties from our account as we cant hold the client responsible for our mistake
but my boss said it wasn't a problem... PHEW!!!!

The things that happen while youre on maternity leave huh?

Charnenay, our pediatrician warned us that Iz will loose some weight when she goes on solids. So I don't think you should be too stressed about Emily loosing a bit of weight, just maybe monitor it. Iz also doesn't eat very well. She'll maybe finish her veggies or cereal once every 2 days. Sometimes refuses to eat competely, then it takes me about 1 hour to get 2 spoonfuls in.

I'm trying it out, some girls have had amazing results, ranging from 11cm's lost per session. To 40 cm's in 3 sessions. I've kinda regained my pre-pregnancy weight but the flabby tummy is going nowhere slowly. Desperate times call for desperate measures. 1 Session equals 1 000 situps. I'll report back the results.

Hey ladies

So much posts to go through again!! Got some extra responsibility at work, so getting a bit hectic and not finding much time to post.

Emily is doing great - she has been sitting by herself for a while now and has recently learnt to dance!!! Also mimicks sounds we make with our mouths (very cute)!!! And it seems she will be crawling soon, getting onto all fours quite often but not managed to move yet. She slides herself all over her cot and the floor though

As for the feeds, she is still not eating as well as I would like Not too impressed with veg and only finishes her cereal on some days. We had her at the doctor week before last and she has lost weight since the last time we took her!!!! SO I need to take her for a weigh-in this week, I hope she has picked up - not sure what they will suggest if she is still loosing or hasn't picked up since then

Girly, so chuffed to hear that your Kaylee is doing well

Babyzee, Fayaz is a big boy, so you can increase his feeds during the day. My nephew is also quite big and that's what the pead suggested - feed the weight and not the age. So perhaps give him more than 150ml's of milk per feed.

Hi girls!

Finally I get the chance to take a breather! What a hectic weekend. But we survived it and no one had to bail me out of jail!

Iz's dedication was beauts. Daddy sang her the most beautiful song, I'll post the words sometime. I've played the song to her since she was still in my tummy. Everyone had enough to eat and we had a lekker kuier. I'm very sad though, amidst the rush I never got someone to take pics!!!!! Took my camera, but never got it out. There is a dvd made though.

Iz went on a hungerstrike again refusing to eat solids. Only started eating cereal again tonight. I seriously don't know what I am going to do with that child. This morning we forgot about her! Everyone was rushing doing their own thing, and she went under the diningroom table with her walker. But the table cloth was still on from yesterday, and it's floor lenght. So Grace comes out of the kitchen and trips on something....only to find that Iz is sitting playing under the table!

We are only leaving on Friday for the Berg. I am counting the sleeps.

I went for my first electric muscle stimulation session today. I almost died! Talk about torture. Nee goeie hel! And I was all joking I'm going to catch a lekker snooze in the 30 minutes! Ya right, I had to eat my words.

Girly, I'm so sorry to hear about the stupid cold! But so glad to hear that little missy is doing so extremely well!

JeanineK congrats on the sitting....they sneeky little buggers!

BabyKsmom, we also had the best intentions of getting the dedication done within the first month....but life just sometimes have a way of not going according to plan

KerryA, I still wanted to comment, you said K cuddles you when she sees you in the afternoon? That's so nunu's. Iz is starting to stretch her arms out to us when she wants us to pick her up.

Oh and she throws herself backwards in a strop ...not sure I like that one!

Anyhoo, nightie night all. DH is teasing me, cause I peeping only through one eye trying to focus on the screen....dead tired!

PS: when I say I am only feeding John once a day I mean breastfeeding
He gets 3 formula bottles a day too of 225ml...

Hi girls

Girly, so exciting that Kaylee is coming home soon! Now just rest up on the couch and kick that head cold in the butt .
J is not trying to drop his milk feeds, he is getting mostly formula now and only 1 breastmilk feed a day. In about 3 to 4 weeks he will have finished all the frozen breastmilk and then will be on formula only. I am only feeding him now once a day and not pumping anymore. I'm not sure how much he is getting out but I think my boobs have adjusted so that there is enough for one feed in the mornings, most of the time he goes back to sleep and seems full afterwards

BabyZee, shame you poor thing you sound so exhausted! I know its always easier said than done but try the methods Kerry and Jeanine are talking about, I tried it too and thats how John first dropped his 10pm feed and then stopped waking up other times in the night. For quite a long period I would have to go in to put the dummy back in but at about 4 and half months, when he was on 2 solid meals a day, I did a bit of sleep training and he stopped waking up. Now he sleeps from about 8pm to 6h30am. The sleep training involved me waiting a few minutes from when he first cried out to when I would go into his room, until eventually it was about a 5 minute interval and when I went into his room he was back to sleep already, or actually still sleeping and had just cried out in his sleep.

Jeanine, that photo is so cute, John pulls that same face whenever he tries something new, and he still is not a huge fan of his veggies. Sometimes he doesn't finish it but I persevere and every night he gets veggies. The only thing he really likes is gem squash and he tends to always finish sweet potato.

As for the sitting, he seems to be a little more laid back than the rest of the babies, but he has sat by himself a couple of times now, still quite wobbly though. On Sat he sat by himself for about 2 minutes He is still not rolling from his back to his tummy but I'm sure that will come with time. We are going to the paed next Wed for his 6-month check-up.

Eileen, how was Iz's dedication? Are you on holiday now?
We went to a Christening yesterday, my friend's little girl is only 2 weeks old but her mom is out from Oz so they wanted to do it now. We have still not had John christened, we have just started going to the Church where we want him christened so I want to go a few more times before I call the priest to book his christening. I feel a bit bad, I always imagined he would be about 4/ 5 months when we did it but it just wasn't the right time.

I think we are in another growth spurt, since Saturday he has been extra hungry and finished all his milk bottles. It will be really interesting to see his measurements when we go to the paed because he grew quite a bit between Jan and middle of Feb - on the 14th Feb he was 7.9kg and 67.5cm - suddenly his legs are looking very long. But I think he is going to be quite a bit more on the 2nd March
