Hi moms! Did everybody have a relaxing long weekend/holiday/time off? I typed a long message on Thursday but then realised it didn’t go through on my phone and didn’t have time to re-type it. Today I’m trying Jeanine’s trick, I’m typing this on Word and when I’m done I’ll try posting it quickly at work.
How are the preggy fairies? Sorry to hear things have been tough with D Robyn. We sometimes have trouble with John crying when its bed time and not wanting to go to bed but it’s never been so bad that he has thrown up. I feel for you, it cannot be easy being pregnant with a toddler. Do you know the sex yet? What names are you thinking of?
JB, so glad to hear you are not feeling too bad. Can’t believe how fast the time is flying. So are those the names you have decided on? Lovely! My cousin’s little boy is called Kai, it’s a lovely strong name.
Kerry! How exciting and holding thumbs for you and Josh that its first time lucky again. Same happened with my friend with both her son and daughter, first time lucky.
John started at his school today. I was really excited for him and tried to keep that feeling going but he picked up a little on my trepidation and was acting up a bit. But he was fine when we got there and was quite excited and then went all quiet and was just observing everything. Once of the nannies/assistants picked him and showed him around and the teacher/owner chatted to him and I managed to say goodbye properly and then I bawled outside the classroom. Oh my word! I know he will be absolutely fine and he is used to being apart from me for the whole day etc but I think I’m mourning the “loss” of my baby, he is growing up so fast and now he’s a little boy at nursery school. And no, not time for another I’m afraid. DH and I had a serious talk about it last week and the shop is closed. I need to accept it so that we can move forward as a family and I can just enjoy us. He can always bring friends away with him or have friends to stay and he is a very sociable boy so hopefully he won’t be lonely. That’s my biggest fear, that is lonely growing up or later on.
Cols, how about that migraine? That sounds absolutely awful and pity you couldn’t go away but maybe you were meant to stay home and work on the house then. Have you always suffered with migraines? Thinking of you so much friend, like you say, all in good time.
Yes I’m keen for another catch up. DH is away this weekend and working next weekend (poor me). But I’ve already made plans for this weekend. What is everyone keen for? Meet at Delta Park again or go for coffee or meet at someone’s house?
It was our 5 year anniversary on Sat (been together for 11 years, married for 5). We had a lovely week last week actually. John went away with my parents – I know – I freaked at first and then we thought about how we could go to movies and go for dinner etc and decided it wasn’t so bad. He was very good for them but woke up early every day, about 5/5:30, shame. But otherwise they had a good time and we went to movies twice and dinner 3 times!
We watched The Avengers – it was brilliant, I want to watch it again! And we saw The Grey with Liam Neeson, wow what a crazy movie, like the most ridiculous survival movie ever. It was brilliantly made but tragic and very serious. Haven’t watched something like that since before John.
Do any of you watch The Voice on SABC3 on Weds? It awesome I love it! I think its leagues ahead of Idols and all the others. Adam Levine is my favourite coach (the dude from Maroon 5) and the talent is just phenomenal.
JB – did you go for the interviews? Good luck, holding fingers and toes for you. How are things with your tenants so far? And living with the in-laws?
Does anybody in Jozi know of a good gynae at Sunninghill Hospital? It’s my closest hospital and I’m looking for a new gynae but don’t really know anyone who has been there. I need to check on the Discovery network too.
Okay I think it’s time for me to post this message otherwise it’s going to become a book! Hope this lovely 3-day week is easy for you all
