What is it with men - they have a sniffle and they're dying, but we can be sick as a dog and still have to do eveything!

(like when I had bronchitis and was booked off by my dr for 4 days of bed rest - DH wanted me to look after D instead of dropping her off with MIL (WTF?)

Ja TGIF!

I still haven't heard anything about the job yet, its really frustrating, I just want to know, even if I haven't got it, its ok, but I need to plan the rest of my year. I still really hope I get it though, I just cannot work with John at home with me. This week has been bad, we all got his tummy bug, DH and me both. And John is only better today, he was so niggly and clingy yesterday, poor thing.
And DH couldn't take time off work so yesterday and the day before he came straight home from work and crawled into bed and I had to do everything. John's dinner, bath, bottle, cook our dinner, nurse John, nurse husband and nurse myself. I lost it a bit last night. Especially since we had plans to go out last night and John was going to my folks but of course we had to cancel that. Sometimes I feel like I am the only caregiver and I never get a break. And DH is going away at the end of the month for 5 days and then again the following weekend - both leisure trips - a friend's wedding and a fishing trip. Aaaarrrgh, I don't foresee a break for me for a long time. Oh well, such is life with a baba and I need to harden up and enjoy the time with my little boy. Its just made harder when I'm trying to make money and don't have the time to work with baba needing me.

Ok that is my rant for the day or even the week! Sorry girls.

Flowergirl, sorry about Emily, poor thing. Are you back at the doctors today or you riding it out? I hope she recovers soon and that you get to take her to toptots on Monday, I'm sure she'll have a blast!

This week went so quickly!

Kerry - I almost have the opposite problem
MIL takes such good care of D (almost too good - I feel like a bad mommy compared to her )
but my parents haven't had much experience with babies since I was small, so they haven't even changed her nappy before and DH said we must now try get them to look after her for a whole day so she can sleep over there sometime (to give MIL a break)
So am going to try leave D with them for the whole day on Sun - she loves playing with them, but needs to get used to sleeping there (she never can) and they need to change her nappy!

Ooh - Dakota started saying Duck this morning - so cute!! (she has a furry duck that she got for her birthday from my Godfather)

Anyway - hope everyone has a lovely weekend

Oh no flowergirl! She might have got tonsilitis now? Exact same thing happend to Evan. He got croup and then a secondary tonsilitis infection and post nasal drip. The seriods suppress their imune system and makes them more suseptable to secondary infections.

Hey ladies. How is everyone?

Had a HORRIBLE night last night Emily's cough has now gone from a bark to a more wet cough with runny nose, the works. So now she can't breathe properly at night and we were up with her for 3 hours!! while she screamt! My poor baba - I just wish she would get over this already

Emily usually has a bath at 7, then storytime, bottle and then she gets rocked to sleep (yip, we are still rocking!!!). I usually put her down fast asleep at about 8. Then she wakes up 2 or 3 times during the night and sometimes it's just for her dummy, other times she needs us to rock her to sleep again. So the nights are still very long for us. Then she sleeps until about 7:30, so at least we have that! Luckily, I can also sleep until 7:30 'cos its a 15 minute drive to work and I get there just after 9.

Emily is meant to start her first toptops class at 11Am on Monday, I was planning to take her to this first one and then my mom takes her after that. But now with her being sick, I'll have to see if she gets better before then, don't want to infect all the other children!!!

Also, dh is on leave from yesterday until the 17th, so we have given my mom off as well so it's just DH and Emily at home - I hope they'll be ok!!

Medical aid only refunded R 350 though. How cute - the reverse walk Maybe you could save up and claim UIF? You get about R 16k total out. Evan still doesnt wave :$

BabyK, any news on the job yet? How's John's tummy? I heard there's another nasty bug doing the rounds. Evan's got a super snotty nose at the moment. Shame man! I am getting a taste of WFH with an active baba running around. Evans school was closed Wednesday and today because of the school concert. It is madness, he is so bored with me trying to work while he causes havoc! What a cuty pie! Love the kissing story. Evan just gives sloppy tongue

Flowergirl, shame man. Poor baba. Croup sucks. Evan had it twice. It's doing the rounds at the moment and is highly contagious. Its a viral infection and apparently is airborn. How is she now? The dr put Evan on aspelone cortizone and told me to humidify his room. I added Karvol to the water. The panado / calpol also helps the pain. Apparently there is also a homeopathic remedy by Natura you can get it at Dischem. How is she feeling now?

PM, shame man, that is rough. Does dad not doing any fetching and carrying or is it just nicer for Abs to have you with her? Can you get some that you can freeze? I know woolies normally stocks it. But there is apparently a shortage because the goats are "kidding" at the moment... She has such a big vocab already!

Shame man Sher... Sucks being without support. We have family they all just live 45km from us. It's a schlepp but not terrible. Sorry you cant go to Cold play tomorrow Are you going to David Guetta? Im thinking of booking.

Evan started walking all over the place yesterday He really walks well now and stands up all on his own and walks where he wants. Last night i was watching Evan come through fromt he kitchen to the lounge. He went straight to the stairs and started climbing them. I was calling Barry and he finally came to see when Evan was already halfway up! He went straight to the top, no problem. I was right behind him the whole way. Luckily we have a gate at the bottom and top of the steps. Now we just need to make sure we keep the bottom gate locked at all times! Evan normally has a bath between 6:30 - 7pm and goes to bed between 7 - 7:30 pm. I also have to leave the room and let him settle himself. He does not do cuddling. In the morning he wakes up at about 5:30 we leave him until 6am. if he's crying he gets his milk bottle at 5:30 other wise we give it to him at 6. He's got a bit of flu so he has been very restless again. At least last night he only woke up once. I have him home with me today so it's a bit hard getting work done. I feel like im neglecting him because I am not playing with him. I have to work Maybe I will get some time this afternoon.

geez K is in bed at 8pm but she is up at 4 / 4:30 ??? has her morning feed and sleeps maybe till 6/7am... still cant complain

better than getting up at night, so dont miss that

Thanks Kerry, K knows whose who in the zoo.... I am hoping end of the month she is okay this time to be around family and give me a break... cause we have a wedding to go to.... still have not found a dress.
