Oh, went for my 36wk chec today (took my mom with for a change)
McK weighs 2.17kg and looks to be 3.1/3.2kg at birth

I was meant to go off from next Fri, but due to everything thats happened, she has writen me off from Fri, so only 2 days left (but that means only 2 days handover, instead of 2 weeks!)

Doc gave me a tranqueliser for yesterday and I was still a mess (haven't been able to go to sleep before 04h00 each morning)

As for my shower - DH told me my SIL & mom were organising a little party for the 21st, but asked how I felt - so we've decided to do it after McK comes - too difficult to arrange now (esp for my mom)
Thankfully D has been her saving grace!! She just wants her Granny and gives her the biggest, longest hugs ever (I get jealous!) and is really taking my mom's mind off things - such a blessing

2 of my bosses are in Jhb now (had to do their trips on Mon!) so haven't had a chance to speak to them about leaving early, but the 1 boss was very cool about it, thankfully (my other boss texted me about work less than 2 hours after my dad passed and still emailed me things to do the day of the funeral!)
But the part that takes the cake is that I just got an email from a lady in my dept (who was meant to arrange my 'surprise shower' and asked me to find a venue as well as order some drinks & cakes for Fri ("as we would like to do something for you before you leave") WTF??!!

hi ladies
thanks for the wishes - the funeral/memorial was yesterday at my moms house
beautiful weather, no wind/clouds, birds singing non-stop
over 70ppl came and many wrote specials messages which DH read out
Wow - DH has been the most amazing, incredible person thru all this, basically
taking over everything - funeral, cremation, minister, helping my mom sort out
bank things, to even spending til 23h00 each night planting flowers in my mom's garden to get the house ready for the funeral
He's been such a strengrh (when not even my dad's brothers wanted to read out the tributes!)
I am so thankfull and need to do something really special for DH to show him!

Hey ladies

Havent had a chance to check in for so long now. Work has just been so hectic. I just finished an assignment now, so rewarding myself with a bit of moomie time :) I need to keep reminding myself that this will all be worth it when I have my degree at the end of next year

robyn - soooo sorry for your loss. And yes, that is a lovely picture for you and your family to remember your dad by. Hope you manage to finish work earlier and just have a nice break before baby comes.

Babyksmom - yes, we are enjoying the new home. Kitchen finally done, just waiting on the blind to be fitted. Loving all the space that comes with this home :)

Emily is doing sooooo well and growing so nicely. So much so that we have decided to send her to a playschool next year. It is a home based montessori school and she will only go from 9-12 and then come home for lunch and a nap. It is in our road, so my mom will just walk her over in the mornings and then walk back over in the afternoon to fetch her. Will see how it goes - being that close, she may try to "run away" :woohoo:

I developed a UTI last week that i decided to ignore. By Sunday I could hardly walk and it had gone to my kidneys. So on a hectic antibiotic for 7 days and feeling much better - thank goodness. Poor Emily comes running to me and then reminds herself "Mommy back is sore, mommy no pick you up, mommy hold your hand" Soooooo sweet!!!!! and always refers to herself in the 3rd person.

Kerry - goodluck with TTC - thinking of you!! Let us know what the doc says. My turn soon.

Keep well all.

Oh no Robyn.. so so sorry :-(

Baby K, hair? Shame poor K has barely any and would rather die than let you wash it... i cant even picture what the neighbours must be thinking once a week when i force her to let me wash it.... my word! and the sad part is it used to be fine, she would lay back in the water and let you was soooo nicely. then all of a sudden this!

Decided over the weekend to just buy some dry shampoo and give her a little break from washing so she can forget whatever her imagination must have conjured up.

As for me... no news i am afraid... still TTC unsucsessfully (since March), made an appointment with the gynea on Oct 2nd to maybe see if theres a reason. But i went for an appointment in March and all was well, she even saw a nice healthy follicle, so i really don't know.

Cheers ladies, have a great day

OMG - just realised, looking back at the posts, that the last photo from D's birthday is literally the last photo of my dad ever (have tears in my eyes right now!)
At least it's a beautiful pic of his holding D
