Braxton Hicks - heard of quite a lot of people having BH contractions and
now also heard that it means ull have a shorter labour.

One of my fears is that my labour will be days long
and then they will have to do a c-section.

Do u think its better to have BH to prepare u and ur uterus?

I also want them now :)

Evening ladies!

My thoughts are with all of you that are dealing with awful symptoms, stress and worries about your babies. I know everyone says it, but the best thing you can do is to relax. Hang in there mommies!

Jane- I read somewhere that you should kneel and place your chest and head against the ground with your bum in the air and keep that pose for 20 minutes a day to encourage baby to turn.

I slept about 4 hours this morning (2am-6am) but I'm feeling good so won't complain. Started seeing my midwife today and have to go every two weeks, only going back to the gynae at 36 weeks. All is well with Mateo, although I was told to start taking iron again since baby will suck you dry of it and you will bleed alot after birth so need iron badly.

Hope all you ladies have a calm evening with some well deserved sleep.

Ah, ladies we are JUNE mommies remember :) (well supposed to be) but it looks like some of y'all are wanting to jump the gun :)

Lucy - hope your BH stop and give you some rest tonight. Take it easy and see if you can get your gynie to book you off on sick leave.

So I spoke to the physio who does acupuncture and he says he does western acup and what I am referring to is chinese acup. He says he wouldn't risk it at 34 weeks and added to that the low amnio fluid :( trying to 'hang upside down' from couch to floor with cushions to raise my pelvis - helps for pain in back and vajayjay. Maybe it will encourage her to turn. They say you should try it for 15min 5 times a day...going to gynie again tomorrow. Will have to discuss csection date...mind shift

Hi Lucy,I've been getting braxton hicks since 20 weeks, with previous pregancy it was the same.
The gine also told me I have a sensitive uterus and gets irrated easy. I get them every hour, sometimes 2 in a hour. A full bladder is making it much worse. My baby is also laying very low,I glad that it is not a indication thay they might come early-what a relief, cause I've been stressing.
Only going 13 May to gine, maybe next week I will visit my gp just to chect urine.

Have a nice evening!

Well they haven't been coming regularly but have been throughout the day! Gynae monitored me and said Baby not ready to come out yet, but that my Uterus was irritated... am thinking I may have done this to myself... as I have been drinking Chamomile tea to sleep at night and apparently that brings on uterine contractions... flip! Feels like I have a tummy cold and the cramps come and are sore sore, then within seconds disappear. But I am left wanting a hot water bottle and my bed!

I will def keep an eye on things... but went in and they sent me home... so can't be that bad? My sister said she had all day braxton hicks for 2 weeks before her baby came... so again i think everyone is different?

Hi Ladies,

Lucy - Yesterday my gynae said: if you get the Braxton Hicks regularly, where you can time it on your watch, then I should go to hospital immediately. She said if you have like one at night and you can still manage to fall off to sleep then its just Braxton Hicks nothing to worry about.

Maybe you should monitor it, write the times and duration you get it.

Sorry about everything, I know how it feels, frustrating, I was also awake last nite until 12:20 couldn't fall off to sleep, woke up at 3:10 to go to the toilet and then at 5:00 again.

Just think of it this way that you have just +/- 4 weeks left. Hang in there.

Sorry can't remember what everyone else said.....

Eloise - She did my "trash your wedding dress" photos, my friend's wedding and another friend's maternity and baby shoot

Lucy - I don't think I've had Braxton Hicks. I get funny pains and weird feelings but nothing that I think would feel like a contraction. What did your gynae say about you getting them so often?

What does it actually feel like?
