Juandre - if you use the eco nappy liners that are biodegradable then I think it should be fine. I have also been told that Cherub wet wipes are the only ones that you can flush down the toilet. I think it would be okay for you to use the nappies but just check that the liners are safe.

Logging off - ladies I have to log off now - already passed my 2 hour computer limit that I gave myself during study time.

Chat to you this afternoon!

Eve- just a question. We are in an area that still uses septic tanks and french drains so we don't have main line sewage. We have to be very careful about what we flush so do you think someone in my area could use those nappies?

With Shiloe I didn't use a sterilizer, I just popped the dummy into boiling water for a few minutes. She never had thrush and had the dummy until she was 2.

Morning ladies,

I am also at work today.

I am probably the only one here that has still not bought anything for baby. Remember, I was flat out broke and then that money came through?

Anyway, this weekend I brought the older kids their winter wadrobe and maternity panies and bras for myself.

Tomorrow, I am going to buy the baby's clothes.

Please girls, I need your help. I will be going to Ackermans Baby. WHAT MUST I BUY? Let's say for the first 2 months. I did not get a baby shower because my company is small (6 people) and the only family I have is Mom and Sister and no close friends really.

I did however get a Woolies e-voucher free facial.

Please help me.

Alex - I have no words for Unisa!!

Eco nappies - you don't actually have a dirty nappy afterwards. There is a liner inside the nappy that catches the wee and poo and then you just flush that down the toilet. It actually makes so much sense because that's where wee and poo belongs, not in your bin :)

Washing baby - I also heard aqueous cream is best. My friend said she's going to buy me the whole Woolies range of baby products so I will be using those to wash baby - love them to bits!!

Nadia - I must admit that it slipped my mind - porridge brain - I feel so bad! I really hope that everything is going well with her and baby.

I've tried to post twice so far but both times after typing a long ass message, it wouldn't display. So frustrating!

Anyway, thanks for the info re tags, ladies! I think I'll play it safe and only wash a few items even though I have heard that little boys pee through all the time, what exciting times lies ahead for us

Eve- I feel you! Unisa has been full of mistakes this semester and I doubt they'll rectify it before the exams. One lecturer told me that she will only correct the mismarking of my assignment if other students complain as well. What the heck? Idiots! I was also considering getting those eco nappoes but I'll wait and see how I handle changing the disposables, the thought of a dirty nappy makes my stomach turn

Ronel- I'm guessing we have to sterilise. It's like when you buy a new kettle or blender and have to wash it first before you can use it. But like I said I'm guessing :)

Yippee! I'm finally 31 weeks today! Can't believe how quickly time is moving.

What will you use to wash your newborn? I've heard aqueous cream is the best but can you use any brand since I don't like Johnson's or elizabeth Annes products.
I know I ask alot of questions but I realy want to sort out as much as possible before my exams so I won't have an excuse to be distracted. Thanks for bearing with me ladies! :silly:

Oh, does anyone have Nadia's contact details? I hope everything went well with the induction last night.

Sterilising dummy - are you just going to put it in the steriliser that you use for bottles or do you use Milton Sterlising Liquid?

I'm clueless!
