I think it is a good idea to sterilize the dummy. Then in the hospital they can always do it again.

Ronel - Hospital Bag should be packed and ready to go about 1 month before unless you are high risk then even sooner. I finiahsed my bag this weekend at 34 weeks.
As for dummies - not sure - would like to know as well?
Glad you had fun with your lil one moving a lot!!!

Ronel - glad you had a lovely weekend. It is always different with other people's children. Last night DH was walking around with his tshirt over his head making moaning and crying sounds just to see how long it would take to irritate me - it didn't take long heheheheheheh

Juandre - thanks for that. I'm really excited about using them. I didn't really give DH much of a choice and I convinced him as well because it saves so much money and it's good for the environment.

Discovery - just called them and they said it takes between 5 and 7 working days to get a reply so I must just be patient because my application was only received on 19th.

Okey dokey, I'm going to start studying shortly :)

Eve my friend in NZ uses the ones they get there and she has a boy. She says when he was first born she used disposables, but once he was a bit bigger she started using those. She says she has no problems with leaking.
I would love to have tried them but DH said straight out that if I would like him to help with nappy changes he will only use disposables as he could not face having to flush baby poo down the loo with his weak stomache.

Morning everyone

Hope you all had a lovely weekend. Our weekend away was veru nice. I tried to relax as muxh as possible, but our friends' kiddies didn't make that easy. One is 5 and one is 3 and they kept on running and screaming and if not that they cried about something stupid. It was kinda annoying at one stage as I had a sinus attack on saturday and didn't feel to well and just wanted to rest. It made me wonder how am I gonna cope being a mom, but I guess it is different if it is someone else's children. Hope so! :) My LG was so active over the weekend. It was so awesome to feel her. Guess it was I was totally relaxed

Our cot and compactum arrived on friday but because we are still busy with LG's room, it is still in bubble wrap. The sides of the cot also still needs to be assembled. We are buying the paint and carpet this week and also ordering the bedding. I am so excited, can't wait!

I have a probably stupid question, but when you pack your bags for hospital do you sterilise LO's dummies that needs to go with?

My maternity leave starts 1st of June.

Have a great day everone!

Hey ladies

Is anyone planning on using those Eco Nappies?

I have decided that I want to use them but I'm so worried that Connor might wee right through them or leak or something, and then there's R3000 down the drain.

Discovery - I'm starting to worry about why they haven't gotten back to me yet. They called to say it would be sorted by Friday but I haven't heard a thing. I think I'm going to call them as well, right now.

Unisa - I hate Unisa!! Blady idiots made a mistake with my assignment results and now it's taking them forever to acknowledge it. Difference in marks is 8% which marks a big change to my year mark. I sent an email, no reply, I called, the guy just said "She'll get back to you on Wednesday". Fat chance of that happening.

Maureen - where is your help topic?

Alex - Good question - I also want to keep the tags on in case I want to change things. I would say, keep the tags in a packet and write on each tag what the item is, then if you want to change it, you at least have the tags. I know Woolies would probably accept it like that.
