Eve - London has been having these crying attacks for almost 2 months - very disheartening. Spoke to Paed on Monday and he said absolutely normal as they are developing so fast, their minds and bodies are trying to catch up. Sometimes it can be growing pains, sometimes stomach as his digestion gets used to new food and a lot of the time separation anxiety / and night mares. The one night London was crying so much and I was trying to calm him, he got a fright for something in the room and he gripped me so hard I almost cried in pain!

Went back to the Dr today. Shame Lon had a viral infection and a steady temp of 38 degrees.... so is on Empremed (Similar to Neurofen- Ibuprofen) and Ponstan (Similar to Calpol/Panado - Paracetemol) suppositories every 3 hours for today! Tomorrow once fever is down every 4 hours or as needed... Then also saline drops and a nasal decongestant! Ag my poor baba!

Also Dr said the following:

- Vitamins not necessary if baby is healthy and eating a balanced diet. They will just pee it out! I bought Vidaylin anyway lol! If they pee it out, I dont mind wasting my money as long as maybe he gets a vitamin he needs.

- Now that babies are teething their gums open for the teeth to cut. So by putting stuff in their mouths they open themselves up to infections and stuff... NICE!

Vitamin A - I took C to paed for 6 month check up and asked him to give the Vitamin A drops but he said that the government says Vitamin A is needed at 6 months but they generalise and it is actually for people living in poorer communities who don't have access to all the foods and nutrition that we / our babies do - so it really isn't necessary at all.

Toast - Connor loves toast!! Gave him toast with bovril but he didn't like th bovril do much - just like his mommy.

Baby classes - anyone doing baby classes with their babies? I'm going to a trial lesson at Moms and Babies - probably going to join the Wednesday group in Kreupelbosch - quite excited. Are there any other groups out there (in Southern Suburbs Cape Town) - I can't find any others.

Terrors - oh yes, wanted to mention this - DH and I were watching a movie this evening and all of a sudden Connor screamed out so loud (like I've never heard him scream before) - then he went quiet. We paused the movie to listen and were on our way to the room when he started screaming again. I got into his room and he was literally shaking in the cot. I got such a fright that I scooped him up and he was fussing and trying to turn in my arms and going mad. He wasn't awake though. I initially thought it was his teeth but he's never been like this before with teeth. It took me quite a while to calm him down. I eventually gave him colic mixture because he was pulling his legs up - I wasn't sure if it was because of being scared of something or if it was cramps. Anyone else's baby having terrors?

Eve- clever Connor opening the cabinet doors! I looove the pics of him on fb, he looks like a big boy and just too cute! Good luck on finding a decent daycare, it sounds like suck a pain.

Lucy- thanx for the info. Whatever happened to the boudoir biscuits? I was looking for it over the weekend but couldnt find any. Well done London! He sounds like a really smart and big boy!

Sal- yay for the tooth! At least now u know why Shane was off last week.

SH- shame man! Try and enjoy ur time off, before u know it ur lil man will be back and u'll have no time to urself. Mateo wakes at 7-8am. He goes to sleep at 7-8pm. I think the main reason that he wakes so late is because he still wakes about 3 times at night. If he slept straight thru, i'm sure he would wake sooner.

Has anyone taken their babies for the 6 month vitamin a drops? I was thinking of taking M but i know its not a must so not sure.
Oh we gave lil mr some toast with a wee bit butter on today and he loved it, abit too much i'm afraid. I'm just so pleased he is not having any reactions to the gluten! Yay!

Hey ladies,

My lg is 7 months and 1 week. No teeth yet, but lots of drooling. She use to sleep through the night from 2 months old until 5 months, since then she wakes up once a night (2ish) just to drink and then wakes at 05:30am to drink and then sleeps till about 09:00 - 09:30am.

She is also crawling (worm style). My husband bought her a walkingring on Sunday - honestly i don't agree on walkingrings bt anyway i limit her time in it.

Mrs S H, please let me know when you get your LO to wake up later. Shane wakes up at 5 on the dot and had done for the last 5 months, what I would give just to sleep in till 6pm. I've tried everything, putting him to sleep later in the eve. switching all lights off and nothing works.

Hey Sal went to Paed for 3, 7 month visit and then again at 1 year. Thereafter only once a year.
