Hi ladies,
Yay, activity!
Sal - Alex is being a terror at night too. At one stage he was almost waking up hourly, just restless. I thought it was the Cape Town heat and adapting from coming back from holiday to his own room again, but it's carried on for almost 3 weeks. He used to sleep through with maybe a dummy run or two, but now I'm getting up at least 5 times a night. I am so tired...
He already has his two bottom middle teeth so I'm wondering whether it's the top ones setting into place. Sucks big time. Teething is from the devil!! I also only used Panado or Neurofen and Hylands homepathic tablets when he was teething. I was told to buy Vidol as it's the only thing that works (according to a few more experienced moms) - haven't tried it myself yet.
Other than that, we've been good. He is a big strong boy, 71cm and 8,95kg and is 7 months exactly today. He is sitting unassisted and is starting to make moves that will lead to crawling. He is currently obsessed with getting into a standing position by either using us as climbing frames or holding on to our fingers and pulling himself up. Not anywhere else pulling up though.
Is anyone's children also very very rough - he pinches me and pulls my hair and his new favourite biting! Those little toothie pegs are LETHAL! He is really hurting me, DH laughs and says that's just being a boy...sucks as I don't get hugs and kisses at all. He wants me to hold him and then he either sits like an angel or wants starts yanking my ear, pulling my nose, etc...if it wasn't so sore, it would be very cute! haha Guess I'll have take Chopper Reid's advice and Harden the ** up!
I've stopped breastfeeding on Jan 1st and he is now on Nan 2. Quite a revelation once I stopped, I have more time, my body is my own again (please shrink a bit boobs, please!!) and I can finally see how much he is drinking! But breastfeeding is a lot less hassle. I'm still struggling to time the bottle right and must admit that in the morning at 6, it was SO much easier just giving boob. Now actually have to wake up and go make bottle...ha ha. But it was long enough for me and I am very glad I was able to do it.
What else, oh I'm still job hunting - feeling rather worthless at this stage, but then, I'm flippen impatient so must just chill out...eish. The most exciting two I'm currently long listed for is at Ackermans and MWEB. There are others too, but those are really cool and I'll be stoked, but flip people can take their time!
As for weight loss, I'm less than prepreganancy and want to shed another 4kg before my birthday at the end of March. Doing weighless (my sis joined and gave me all the details). Will start in full force on Monday - procrastinating a little bit.
Anyway, nice to see some activity again!
