Hey Guys

Well the new routine seems to be working:
07:00 Food + Losec
11:00 Food
15:00 Food
18:30 Bath
19:00 Food + Losec + Bennett's Colic Mix
23:00 Food + Bennett's Colic Mix
03:00 Food

# WATER at any other time he is crying!!!

Although I am finding his awake times sometimes go from one feed to another and can either be pleasant where we play or can be damn frustrating where he does a lot of crying. Like this morning... 7am ran into 11am and he is STILL AWAKE!

ladies i am so sad and teary today, i found a lump on breyton's groin it was more fluidy... so took him to doc and its a hernia and he is having an op tomorrow to correct it. He is only 5 weeks and already is having an op my little boy :( i also have to "starve" him before the op my last breast feed i can give is at 4:30am and his op is after 9am... i can give him some water apparently at 6am but not sure how long that will last him till he starts getting upset :(

Its just too sad really.

Apparently its common in newborns the hernia and it does happen just wish it wasnt my little boy

From Cape Town: Little boy (Breyton) due 13 June 2010, delivering at Blaauwberg Netcare :)

Hi ladies,

Nelria - stoppit, your children are WAY too cute man! The pics of Xen and Lea makes me want to have a little brother or sister too. It's adorable!

Lucyv - ridiculous that London reacted to the gripe water like that! Tog tog. Hope he's better today.

From what age is it ok to give something other than telemant drops and gripe water? Alex had cramps the other day and DH went to get some Buscopan from the chemist. The pharmacist was very against giving any medication to LO before he is 4 weeks old. Alex is 3 weeks and 4 days, so almost there. Apparently there is this concuction that one of the chemists puts together called 'groen mamba' which works wonders for cramps. Alex fortunately doesn't suffer too badly, but at least know I know that there is something on the market if he gets bad. I sat with a load of mommies at the wedding on Sunday and got some really good advice.

Eve - Our photoshoot with Jeanine was amazing. We actually chatted a bit about you. She's really sweet.

Alex - it really does get better. The first 2 weeks are a bit of a daze and then thereafter you start knowing why they're crying.

Ronel - how's Zarika sleeping? Does she sleep through (or close to)?

I went to the sister to weigh Alex on Monday and she said to try and feed him every 3 hours so that when he hits 5 kgs, I can start dropping the middle of the night feed. She said that if he feeds 6 times during the day, he should be able to sleep through.

Lucy - I heard that water or baby rooibos tea is a good thing to give them at night. Good lcuk!!

Chat soon - nice to see more of you online more regularly!

Hi ladies

All the pics on here and on facebook are too gorgeous!!

Weight - Connor is officially over weight :( I now have to feed him only every 5 hours. Today was the first full day of 5 hourly feeds and he is doing so well. I give him water in between and he is a champ!!

DH - I also feel like I constantly have to tell DH what to do. Sometimes he says "tell me what you want" then other times he says "stop telling me what to do". Anyhoo, I told him that we're both new at this and we're learning together.

Nelria - so glad Xen is doing better

Really really sorry that I've been so quiet but seriously don't have time to log onto pc and I'm having trouble posting from my phone. Today was the first time that I had a totally awesome day - did washing and I got time to finish 2 assignments :)

nelria- ooh the pics are just too cute! I'm really glad than xen is improving, fantastic news! I saw u started studying, u really giving me hope, i was wondering when will i find time to study. How do u know when its a growth spurt? Do they feed more even tho they getting a full feed each time? I dont wanna mistake a growth spurt for his snacking and starve him for 2 hours.
My little monkey is one week today! Sometimes i still cant believe his mine, i'm still in a daze.
Mark is really hands on with Mateo and since we both equally clueless at this pt i havent had to bite my tongue, but i'll remember that tv show's advice for future reference. Dancing really works with them, its just so tiring. Oh well! The life of a mother.
