Hi Ladies.

I am up in Joeys now for a month while hubby is over in USA. So staying with my mom. But I survived a flight, yay. He was really good feed for take off and landing, apart from having to change him he slept through. :)

Going for a weigh in today. Rather nervous as Graeme only reached birth weight again last week, and only gained 100g. So this week if he has not gained more than 100 g I have to start a top up feed. :( And it seems like he is always on the boob.

He is not in any routine during the day, but at night he is as regular as clockwork. He feeds 7, 10, 3, 6, And will go right back to sleep as long as he is not too wet.

Joeys is freezing today. Think I will stay in bed, hehe.

Hope you Mommies have a good day. :)

We put the 2 tabs into the medicine teat thinging we have with some luke warm boiled water and they melt... but in the feed should also be fine.

He sleeps for 3 hours Claudia!!! I'm so envious! Lia doesn't sleep more than 45 minutes to an hour on most days in one stretch. It's more like 10 minutes.. scream and cry - rock - 10 minutes... fuss and freakout, rock, then maybe 30 minutes. I've tried to just "let her be" but after taking in too much stimulation she just breaks down and not even rockign calms her and I have to turn the bathroom tap on fullblast for a few seconds just to stop her screaming fit and relax her (try this ladies.. it works lol).
That's so great that James likes the pouch! I've tried sling, wrap and pouch with Lia and no go, lol. I'll persist with the wrap though when she has 100% neck control because it is the part that wraps over her head that annoys her so I can then move it out the way!

I am so hearing you ScribblingAl on that routine... lol... very familiar. Also, regarding daycare.. I never ever thought babies could be such hard work before I became a mom. I thought they slept most the time, fell asleep when tired etc... yeah right! I've been referred to as "a lady of leisure" because I'm a SAHM and seriously.. WTF... try keeping up with a baby and a toddler, keepign house neat (I do have help 2 x a week thankfully), cooking.... good lord... it ain't LEISUREFUL at all. lol

LOL@Des, it is true... one actually does need adult stimulation... you don't realize how much until you don't get any. I think I have become more adept at communicating with 2 year olds than adults these days.. scary lol

I hope you all get some fabulous sleep tonight
take care

Shew it was a quiet day on this thread today!

Shame Scribblingal, sorry the jabs upset you, but just remember that she will have forgotten about them already:)
As for routine, I have finally figured out James routine and my biggest problem was trying to get him to sleep. So much of my energy was spent trying to settle him when we were at home and on friday I decided to bugger that and if he wanted to stay awake then he could just do that and all of a sudden the pieces fell into place. He is clearly a baby that doesnt need as much sleep. Now that I've stopped trying to force the issue he is a happy baby (awake) allmorning. I just need to keep changing his scenery or he gets irritable so I kindof go feed, baby massage, baby gym, bouncy chair, kango pouch while I do a basic tidy up and dress, brush teeth etc, read a story, feed, lie under mobile, bouncy chair, go for a walk (also for my fitness), feed and then at about 13h30 he falls asleep no bother with no rocking or fussing necessary. he then wakes at 16h30 for his next feed, I bath him and play with him a little and he falls asleep again till about 20h30 when its his next feed and then he does his normal nightime routine. I guess some babies dont need as much sleep:)

Been kept busy - madam's hard work during the day and then as soon as Mark gets home she suddenly becomes Little Miss Good and he probably thinks I'm overexaggerating about how crappy my day was  Honestly though, it has crossed my mind that life would be a lot easier if she was in daycare, and of course those thoughts are replaced by thoughts of guilt because I know it's going to break my heart to put her in daycare, but hell today was hard!

Took Emily for the 8-week shots yesterday. She was braver than her mother, who cried more than she did.

Bundle, my scar is probably about 10cm but it hasn't started fading yet and I can't wear anything tight - it's still tender.

Ladies with routines, you inspire me. My routine is as follows: feed baby, clean up puke, change nappy, try get baby to sleep, pick baby up, put baby down, pick baby up, repeat repeat repeat, collapse on couch, have a little cry, pick baby up, put baby down... feed baby, clean up puke, change nappy etc etc...

@beansmom - how do you give your baby the slee tonic? Can I just crush the tabs and add it to his last evening feed?

@Jacadebra - always nice to see u here! At least you got a good nights sleep last night, he he, I feel like celebrating when Connor sleeps well.

Ladies, my bedtime routine works as follows - I feed Connor his last feed between 6 and 7:30 and then bath him then give him a small top up feed after his bath, he settles very easily then and sleeps from about 8:30/9:30 until at least 3:00 the next morning . I stick to my routine quite religiously, I thrive on routine.

I'm feeling a bit under stimulated today - I adore Connor, but geeze, do I miss being around grown ups, he he

Hope you are all well!

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed

Sorry you are so stressed crazylove - hopefully hubby is up and running in no time. Happy 16 weeks to your LO!!

Bundle - 15cm's sounds quite big for a csection scar - perhaps it was just the way Luke was lying or something that they had to cut a bit more to get him out. My csection scar from my son is about 10cm's. As for routine, we bath Lia every night between 6h30 and 7 and that's where it all goes out the window. She is usually cracked out and tired by this time but takes anywhere from 1 hour to 3 hours to settle down and sleep. We are also not on regular feeds yet (they are all over the place still) so I can't even say where feeds fall during our night time routine. Meh.

Des, your ladies breakfast sounds fantastic! Glad you had fun and it must be awesome havign hubby home - especially seeing he helps so much!!

I don't mind a baby that is alert and awake a lot. But my baby clearly needs day sleep because she is a crank-a-saurus if she stays awake too long and then it is a nightmare getting her back to sleep.

LOL@scribblingAl - don't feel bad about those pants ladies - I was at my pre-preggie weight 9 days after birth.. and guess what.. I've gained a kg of that back since.. adn my bum is clearly larger too because most my prepreggie stuff still doesn't fit - go figure. One would think with the way Lia is drinking me dry .. I'd be a skeleton by now *Snickers*

I'm feeling a lot better thanks scribblingAl - still a moody but working on it :-)

So, after taking 3 hours to get her down last night - Lia finally passed out close to 10pm - and only woke up at 4h20 for a feed! She went straight back to sleep.. UNTIL 8!! I am seriously impressed. I won't bargain on it becoming a habit because she still randomly does 2 hourly feeds here and there so yeah but I'm still chuffed.

I hope you are all having a great day
