Newborn and baby advice

Hello there

I haven't had a chance to read through the whole Forum Thread yet as I am still a new mom to a gorgeous 2 week old son. But plan to during the course of the day. I did have my own topic up today and had some of the ladies invite me to join as they knew I would find camaraderie and good advice on this thread.

Hi ladies,

So we went to Polokwane yesterday for the soccer, it was so much fun - when we fetched Connor at my moms house he was sleeping peacefully, yay!

@Meags - ok, I can do Wednesday or Friday As well, anytime after 12 because then my cleaning lady would have moved upstairs - so just let me know!

I'm taking Connor for his 12 week vaccination this morning - wish us luck!

Meags can you take pics when you meet the ladies so we can see the position baby must lay and how to get them into the position.

I tried the swaddle position and to tell the truth is looked very uncomfortable.

We went to braai on friday it was sooo good,no crying baby and we were the last to leave. I think the evening was to good to be true.Seth just feed and sleep,the noise did not bother him.

His nose is still block,today my mom made him wear "camphor lappie",there was no way i could win the battle. I want to see if there will be an improvement tonight.

i bathed him this morning and he was very relaxed today,normally he only sleeps for 30min naps during the day but after the nap it was 2-3hrs. I think i will do more morning baths to get a relaxed baby and more day time sleeping.
will try the day bathing every 2nd day.

Hi Guys, my hubby is off at the Germany Aus game without me:( He was given one ticket frm a friend so I'm very jealous, but I suppose it gives me a little more time to prepare myself for leaving James with my mom when I go to the game on the 28th!

James has been like a different baby the last two days. My mom reckons hes growing so he needs his sleep, but he has been sleeping soooo well and I hope it stays! AT the braai on Friday he slept the whole time, waking only for his ffeding time! He doesnt normally get unsettled with noise, but we were out at the time that is normally his niggly time, so I was flabberghasted!!

@ Meags, James hates being swaddled with his hands down, but I have managed to get it right with his hands up by his mouth so that he cant wriggle out and he sleeps really well like that. I wrap his arms around his taglet with the softside sticking out and touching his cheek slightly, which he seems to like. It seems to be slowly replacing his need to suck on his dummy. I'm not a dummy person, so I'm hoping his taglet ( I have 3 which I rotate) will eventually become his soothing method of note so I can get rid of the dummy without having a thumb sucker!

ok this week isn't good for me for those days.
Tuesday we are leaving early to go to Rustenburg for a soccer game and Thursday my cats are going for blood tests and I have a funeral.

no plans so far for the following week though!
