Newborn and baby advice

Hi ladies,

So - Connors injection didn't go too badly at all - he hardly cried, so the EMLA patch must have worked - I was sooooo happy, because last time, he screamed the house down! So far, no negative side effects, he's a little cranky but nothing too serious! He now weighs 6.45kgs and everything is looking good!

@Nicky - enjoy the last few full days with Liebe before Thursday, I can just imagine how you must be feeling, my thoughts are with you *hugs* - nice to see your post though, we missed you here!

@Lucy - WELCOME!!! so nice to have another new mommy on our thread - I have learned so much from the ladies here and Im sure you will too!!

@ScribblinGal - yip, I go to Olivedale - where do you go?

@Bronz - nicely done on the weighing, your little one is doing well

@Meags - looks like we have quite a few interested ladies...so, it will be up to you when you are free to do the demo - not sure if you saw my earlier post, I can do Wednesday and Friday, as long as its after 12 so that my cleaning lady has finished downstairs and has moved upstairs

So - Connor has started vommiting a little after his feeds, not alot, but little bits at a time - I think they call it "possetting" - anyway, he has been on the same formula for the past 12 weeks, so what can it be? He gained enough weight, etc, so the nurses arent too concerned, but I still don't like it - any advice? Im seeing his paed next week for our 3 month checkup, and I'll chat to him then, was just wondering if any of you maybe experienced anythign similar and had some advice for me.

Ok, Connor is finally having a nap now, its taken ages for him to fall asleep today, ha ha, like I said, he's a little cranky....while his napping Im doing some quick internet time and then Im going to watch some soccer...Im kinda enjoying the world cup so far!!

Oh, Crazylove, I meant to ask, have your tried saline nasal spray for the blocked nose? That's what our paed recommended for Emily, and it really seemed to work.

Nicky I just read your post and I am sitting here bawling like a real baby I can't believe that it's getting to the point where we have to drop off our little ones, and it's devastating. I know it's a fact of life and I know that loads of other parents go the same route but it doesn't make it any easier. Just know that Liebe's in good hands. And you're not alone.

Desiree, how did the vaccs go? Where do you have them done? Olivedale?

Bronz, whereabout in Joburg are you? Maybe one of us lives nearby? Desiree thanks for offering your house. Looking forward to the demo. I can do any day any of the weeks. Yes, I lead such an exciting life.

nicky good luck on returning to work........putting on the big girl panties is so heart breaking.
i have one week left and its a horrible feeling but i have more mouths to feed is i need to go work.

for this week were are just doing bottle feeds during the day and ladies there a lots of crying....he fell asleep now from being tired not full.
have to be strong!!!!!!

Well I did a weigh in on Thurs and Fri, both nurses wanted to weigh him with clothes on. (2nd one he was fussing too much nude to do it properly) so Graeme weighs any where between 3,85 and 4,06kgs. At least he put on more than 100grams, so we don't have to do top up. I will try the clinic at Olivedale on fri.

Last night we had a bit of a rough night. He then woke up 30mins after a feed so I knew he wasn't hungry. So I consoled him and he fell asleep. I then stroked down his side and he was wet. I felt so bad. I started changing him which woke him, but he was perfectly happy and then gave me a little half smile. Makes it worth it. And we got to speak to DH in USA.

I'm going back to work o Thursday , can't believe the time is here. I'm looking forward to working again as I love it but I will miss Liebe so much around me. From November 19th 2009 when she gave her first real hard kick she was with me everyday and now I just have to go and drop her at a creche it's kind of depressing but I'm sure I will get over it.I have to work to give her the best possible life so best is to put o my big girl panties and deal with it.

I'm taking Liebe to the creche tomorrow for a few hours so that I can cry my heart out tomorrow and not on Thursday.

I'm gonna go now as my post are just so damn depressing but it's because this is the tread where I met some great people and received so much advise when I did not know what to do or how to do it or when I just needed to talk.
