file Newborn and baby advice

Desiree, how much is in the bottle that you give Connor? I think we feed Emily more often but there's only 120ml in the bottle (after I've offered the breast, which only takes a few mins). The duck pond sounds nice. Is it in the complex?

The next Saturday that I'm off will be the 23rd of October. Anyone keen for a get-together then?

@Scribbling - yeah, I havent given him any solid food at bedtime, for a few reasons - when I get home from work its past 5 already and we dont have alot of time to spend together before bathtime and bedtime, so, Connor and I dont have a hell of alot of time to spend together, and because the food isn't all that important right now, I figure that my time with him is best spent going for a nice walk to the duck pond, rather than being in the house feeding him.....so when we get back from our walk, then I feed him his milkies - and then do his bath & stuff....its our special time together! BUT....that being said he is still a very good sleeper, he sleeps from 7:30pm until 5:30am/6:00am in the morning....if he starts waking earlier and earliler I'll take that as a hint that he might need more "food" and perhaps try some of the "Good night" cereal range that Purity has, I have some in my cupboard, so I'm armed and ready.

Hmmm.....now Im curious to know what is different in our books.

My beautiful baby boy, Connor Troy, was born on 20 March 2010 and my 2nd gorgeous boy, Cullen Reece, was born on 2 September 2011 - I am very blessed indeed

Desiree, ok, the difference between the two books is that yours is the cooking one and mine is the meal planner one. Wonder if there's much of a difference.

We gave Emily some cereal last night and she slept until 7.15am! Yeehah! Fingers crossed she's back sleeping through.
I was interested to see that you don't give Connor a solid feed before bedtime.

@Scribbling - Connor follows the following routine - he's been following the same milk feeding routine for a while now - and since I started him on solids, I just slotted the food in to the same schedule....once again, this might not work for everyone, but I can defs say it works very well for us, some of the other feeding schedules I've seen are just too busy, with baby basically being either milk fed or food fed every 2hrs - it doesnt make sense to me, so I've just done my own thing;

Basically, I'm still feeding every 3hrs, and slotting in 3 "solid" meals after his 3 milk feeds - I will eventually be increasing his solids and decreasing his milk, but Milk is still the most important for now. And then, because Im still feeding every 3hrs, Connor has about 2hrs of awake time with at least 45mins-1hr nap, 4 times a day - sometimes he naps shorter at 2 of the naps and has 1 longer nap, but my timing below stays more or less the same.

Early morning feed (usually at 6:00am) - Milk Feed only
Breakfast feed (9:00am) - Milk feed first - then offer Cereal
Lunch feed (12:00pm) - Milk feed first - then offer Fruit & Yogurt
Tea/Supper feed (3:00pm) - Milk feed first - then offer Veggies
Evening feed (6:00pm) - Milk Feed only
Bath & Change - (6:45pm)
Small Top up Feed & Bedtime by 7:30pm

Desiree, our doyen of routine, what schedule does Connor follow now? Now that Emily's starting solids I think it will be easier to try get her into some sort of routine, and I'd like to start it before she goes to daycare.

Finally!! I got the book. It looks different to yours, Desiree. Mine's the 2007 edition. Yours looks nicer!!!! Mine has stupid pictures of fruit and vegetables with arms and legs and faces drawn on them on the cover.

Pinky I hope Kalahari has them in stock by now, otherwise by the time you get it Karla will be walking. I'm sure Exclusive Books will have it.
