i just want to say thank you for inviting me to join your thread after the jan thing!!! lol. but the new jan mommies are wonderful and we all feel welcome. will pop in every now and again to say hi.

Hi all you ladies

Well, the holiday is over and it is back to our old ways again!!! Hopefully Karla will start getting back into her old ways as well!

I have been reading so much about what all of you has written... so much to read though!!

@Adri - Kara is beautiful and so friendly, she looks just like Carl!

@Desiree - I agree with you on what you said to Claudia, although I am still breastfeeding, I do think that moms who don't breastfeed gets it as well! All of us are mommies and all of us want to be good mommies! Some can breastfeed and some not and that doesn't make you a less good mommy!!! You are a great mommy to Connor... the best actually! HAPPY 6 MONTHS!!!!

I started giving Karla 50ml of formula last night as a top up to the breastmilk... hoping that she will sleep better, but she didn't, I think she was too tired when she had her last feed and didn't feed properly...(didn't have an afternoon nap after her 4 o'clock feed...) We will see again tonight!
The cereal is going well and the clinic sister said I can start her on some veggies in the afternoon, so maybe I will start that tomorrow... any suggestions to what? I heard you have to start with the orange veggies...

I had the flu this weekend, or still a little bit... had a temperature of 38,7 when I went to the doctor on Friday.... very scary, so I rested the whole weekend and Hubby did everything except feeding Karla!!! I love him for that!

@ScribblinGal - LOL, thanks - as for my rolly polly rolling all over the place, I must be honest and say that its the creche lady whos done all the hard work, Im reaping the rewards, but, she puts in alot of TLC into Connor, which is another reason Im so comfortable with him being in a creche this young - he is really looked after. He is their only boy and they adore him so he really gets alot of personal attention and they have been focusing alot on excercising him and stuff!!

@Claudia - ok, here goes, I am also going to come out and say that when I read your "Moms who dont breastfeed just dont get it" comment I also took offense....I often dont want to post a reply to a comment I dont directlly agree with because it is never my intention to be dramatic or to cause a fight, or whatever, but I do think that at times your comments can be a little insensitive. I have praised you many times for your success, but, this thread in particular, and Im referring to myself here, has a mommy in it who bottle feeds - and contrary to what you say, I actually "do get it" - I may not have been successful at breastfeeding, but I am friggin unbelievably successful at bottlefeeding and have a routine that is so brilliantly mastered that I may make it look like the easiest thing in world - yes, bottle feeding works that well for me - and thank goodness it does, because if it werent for formula, my child would have starved - becasue his mommy did not make milk as nature intended! I think you are doing so well as a new mommy, you research things....but, so do I, and when I make a choice, I do feel that I have done what I believe is the best for me at that point in time - we may not agree on everything, but we do agree on the fact that we want the best for our babies, and once again, I commend you on the success you have. I do not mean to offend you, I just mean to be honest about my very emotional thoughts about bottlefeeding - contrary to popular belief, I have bonded with Connor on such an emotional level whilst feeding him his bottle that I feel very much like the nurturing mommy I am meant to. I respect your choices very much...please try to be sensitive to mine and other bottle feeding mommies choices also.

@Bronz - I only started my af this morning - it took 6 months!!

@Claudia: I know about the blocked ducts, I only have worn the underwire a few times. Dont do it every day and if I do I feed G often so not to get engorged at all. I dont have small boobs and the feeding bras do me no justice, especially with a nicer top. So I think once in a while is safe. I hope lol, lets hope I dont come back complaining about blocked ducts. Happy to hear James is better, sick babies are never fun.

Ladies I wanted to ask when your af came for the first time and if it was any different to before baby. Still haven't had mine (Not that I am complaining).

@ Bronz I read in the midnight post that you sometimes wear underwires now, cant say I blame you, I also miss my pretty undies, just becareful cause the wires can causeblocked milk ducts.

James seems better. Just had his 5 month weigh in (HES 5 months tomorrow) and hes now 7kgs. Has only gained like 300g in a month, but apparently its normal to plateau a bit at this stage so the clinic sister said not to worry, as long as he is happy and has lots of wee nappies he is fine.
