Jo-C I'm sorry about some people's insensetivity,and as for the baby not moving,I also experienced that, it was realy terifi=ying and my manager told me to get a coca cola and bar one,and not long he started to move, It hdidn't just happen once it happened again last week friday and I didn't even bother comming to work, coz he didn't move the night beforre and the morning also so I went to the Dr, when I was still waiting for my turn the little sleeper awoken and I explained to the Dr and he said it happens coz the space is becoming too small for them so he won't be as active as usual but it comes once a while.So please try to not worry too much even though I know it is not easy.

Vicky - I am so sorry. I get a lump just reading your post. I know how I would feel it is was my sister. Glad all is well.

Get your sister to get herself checked out by her GP as well. I was in the same situation a number of years ago and becuase the gov. hospital sent me off with pain meds and didn't do a complete check and no x-rays, when the full extent of my injuries was discovered, the recovery time was longer.

I think you need to get home, rest, relax and have an early night. Tell hubby to cook, or get take aways, go for a relaxing bath and then an early night. Good luck

ladies, im absolutely finished

had a horrible evening last nite , got home started the cooking and got a phone call - my sister who lives in pta was in a car accident , car is a write off and they in hospital. my hole heart leapt into my throat. rushed off to try and find this hospital it takes 45 mins to an hour to get there as we are in benoni.. got lost trying to find the hospital. the name of the hospital has recently changed to tshwane provincial hospital.. my sister has medical aid but the ambulance insisted on leaving them here i dunno why.. it is the absolute worst most disqusting place.. the accident had happened around 5ish she was taken to the hospital befor 6 when i got their after 8 they still had not even given her pain meds. her knee is twice the size it should be and where the soft muscle is around the knee it is hard like bone.( i think from the impact) my sis was about two blocks from home when a learner driver ran a stop street and hit her side at about 100kms. all of a sudden when this women realised shes in trouble she also needs to be taken away in ambulance. she couldve killed my sister.. well anyway my sis also has whiplash and a neck injury.. ( sorry jumping around typing as i remember what happened) anyway we eventually left the hospital around 10.30 or so after her only getting an injection for pain at 10.15 or so..dropped her at home.. and then made the trip back to benoni , ended up taking a wrong turn.. only got home 11.45 had to still tidy up cos everything was still in a mess.. didnt even bath my kids.. woke them up at 5.45 to bath befor school. i am so freakin tired , have a head ache and even though shes okay i cant get this lump out of my throat. its the third thing to happen to her in the last month or so . just feel terrible.

the voltaren suppository- i dunno why but it did burn but more worrisome it makes ur bum itch terribly

ladies im counting down the days my visit to gynae is monday and i honestly cant wait.

you know i told you guys i think these ladies at work are organising a baby shower cos we did for the last pregnant one.. well today i was joking with the lady who sits next to me and my husband overheard.. and he was fighting with me and telling me i cant go insinuating that they are throwing a shower, i cant force ppl to do something they dont want to do .. and now they will feel obliged.. i just sat there.. omg i felt so bad. i didnt think of it that way.. so my morning was just as bad as my evening.. anyways he eventually apologised and said he didnt mean to upset me... well anyway ill say good bye now..

O ladies,

Please tell me what you think. I have this friend who is not a softy-feely type person at all. She is married and openly states that she would never, ever want "brats of her own" she does not do kids at all. Thats the way I know her (for the last 12 years) and have grown to love her. A spade is a spade and there's no softy-feely-lovey-touchy to her.

This morning I get an e-mail from her starting with:
"How are you? When is this damn baby due and what is her name?"

And well honestly, I just have no inclination to answer! I have been mulling over this all morning. Now I know she is not maternal, but "damn baby" wtf!

Am I being hormonally sensitive?

With Ethan it was easy, if I didn't feel anything I would down a cold glass of water (was in the heat of summer) and shortly after he would get hiccups, and I knew everything was ok.

Normally, I either get woken by the movement in the morning, or I can feel quite a bit while I am starting to wake up, but this morning (and the whole day actually) she has been very quite and my tummy is like a jelly-belly. Don't know what position she is in, but its as if she is hardly there?!?

Ashbabe- what I do is lie on my back for a few minutes and she gets upset with me and kicks.
The torch would be fine so don't worry about that.

Baby has definitly slowed her movements down but they are far stronger. Her kicks are very hard. One of the advantages of her being so low though is that I haven't had any kicks in the ribs!!!

i have been reading that the babies will slow down now, we wont feel them move as much cos they have limited space now, so as the gyne said to me as long as when we get home have something to eat and drink and then wait as long as we feel movemnets its all ok.

very worrying though what i do is if i am very concerned, i lay in the dark in my bed usually and put a torch on my belly and leave it for like 4minutes and walla, u are bound to get a big thump!!!

dont know if its good or not but it gives me the reassurance that baby is still ok
