Betty_F, well done on those hospital bags! Mine were packed around the 31st week, but we only put them in DH's car last weekend. I have a separate bag for baby as it is just more practical. And in any case, those darm maternity pads and linen savers take up so much space that there isn't any space left in my bag for baby's stuff... I am still working as I'm "only" 37 weeks now. I battle a bit, but it's OK. I need as much salary as I can get.

Meags, so glad about the upcoming session with the cranial sacral therapist. I wanted to suggest it again and then saw your post. I really hope it works, as a friend of mine is such a fan of it and I would like to know if it actually works. And listen to your online friends (thanks Cath and co), you are also important in this whole equation, so give yourself a certain period to try some more and then stop the whole (neverending) "breast fight".

Newyum mum, congrats on reaching full term . It can do no harm to try some of the natural induction techniques. Especially walking (Kimika, you are right...). I walked long and fast the day before I went into labour with my son. Guess I will just have to do the walking thing today, no matter how uncomfy it feels. I never knew a head in your pelvis could cause so much discomfort...

Schatsie, so glad you are enjoying the whole experience! It is the most awesome thing to experience, really.

Joli, so glad you don't have to pay the whole flipping amount. It's time that insurance companies provide for their clients.

Joli: LOL.......try it out and let me know....every child is different...just listen for prominent sounds....

Meags, I think Cath has a valid point re the BF. You are making yourself so miserable because you're battling so much. Maybe it's time to give yourself a break re this.

Well done on taking advantage of it. Just don't give up on the breastfeeding thing.....

Also remember that baby's tummy at birth is as big a marble and production is still low cause if that! Nature supplies what is needed.

Hi all. Will try update today - been reading but don't have time to sit down and post. Seeing Anje just now for her newborn shoot . And this afternoon I'm watching my friend's 2 sons, so I will have 5 kids here with me. Wish me luck!

Newyum Mum - Callum sounds like a lamb most of the time - meeeeeee meeeeeeee meeeeeeeee - suppose that's the uncomfortable one. And sometimes he will go red and kick and scream - not sure what he sounds like - will try figure that one out.

Oh ya - the insurance is paying for our car - we just need to pay in about R10 000 - the excess and 15% of the value of the engine - very happy about that. But they still didn't even start on the car - will only order the parts today - claim was approved on Tuesday only and then DH had to pay them a R30K deposit before they would start - and them claim back from the insurance - hectic - but it's done. Hopefully will be getting a loan car as from today.

Just a quick one - oh Meags you have done sooo well just reflect on the advantages of bottle feeding or even formula! W is on only formula now and he's thriving. M has gotten TONS of your milk so he is well on his way! Please consider accepting that this little baby of yours might just not be a breastfed baby? Why not? I say put yourself and your sanity first! I really admire your courage and perserverance but I think you deserve some sleep and routine now hey? LIke I said the most important thing is that he's got all those BF nutrients. If he doesn't like it he doesn't like it. You have soooo much to offer as a mom bf is not the be=all and end=all. I hope you'll put YOU first I'm a firm believer in our bodies talking to us and your breasts are giving you loud and clear messages! Time for meags now I think!!! You matter too!!! Good luck my dear

Good morning all!

Thanks for all the congratulations on our son! Lots of people say he looks like me, but for me it is strange, when I look at him from some angles he looks like me, but from other angles he looks just like DH. I can't stop staring at him and we're definitely going to be spoiling him rotten!

Apologies for being so scarce yesterday, I got around to reading posts, but just as I was about to do one myself little Mr decided that he wanted to feed, so mommy dropped everything and obeyed his wishes. After all, that's what I'm here for.

Gee my son reminds me of that ad: Nothing sucks like Electrolux!! He has the strongest sucking motion I've ever felt from a baby! If he can't feed he likes sucking our fingers and gee he sucks damn hard! Luckily when he's BFing he takes a large part of my breast & areola in his mouth, so it doesn't hurt too much.

He had plenty of wet and dirty nappies, so it must mean he's getting enough colostrum, but my milk hasn't come yet, so I asked the dr if he can't prescribe something for me. I would hate for my LB to be hungry - he has lost 300g since birth already.

But he really is the best little baby ever - he has hardly cried. He will just get niggly when he has winds or a dirty nappy, otherwise he is good as gold.

Motherhood is even better than I could ever have imagined!

And DH has been an absolute star! He has changed every single nappy after the very first one and cuddles him and talks to him so adorably!! Seeing him with our son has made me love him more than ever!

Time to feed the little man again, so will come back and do personals later.
