How are we all today?

Meags I am SO glad to hear that Mat is feeding! And that you are co-sleeping! its so good for babies emotionally as well. Em was on the nipple sheild for 4 months and then the rest of the year plain boob.

Lucy so glad you got some nice sleep last night My boobs also jsut run, I go to the loo during the night and leave a trail of milk behind me. I had it the entire time with Em as well.

Joli I also like letting babies "swim" in their baths, so going to give her a lovely one today.
I hope you get a smile from him soon. I cant wait to see Kate's smile, cause I know she's got dimples.

Anje, good luck my love! I'm so impressed that you have gone this far! Its amazing! Have you asked for a stretch and sweep perhaps?

Betty thanks, its lovely having her home. Looks like you got nicely spoilt at your shower! Lovely!

AFM, we had a wonderful night last night, Kate basically wakes up for her feeds - so every 3-4 hours. She doesn't cry, she just starts moaning for them. Then we change her and she falls back to sleep. I really hope it continues. Em also only woke up once last night, so it was a fab nights sleep! Kate now fast asleep in DH's arms. Funny thing is that she prefers the boob during the day and the bottle at night, which suits me perfectly cause then DH can help out

Joli - I think I agree with u as I don't ever feel I don't have enough milk, always on tap. Last night I did ur light trick, left door open and used corridor light. Worked like a charm. Only 2 stuckles and out for three and a half hours. I have to say I ann feeling very happy and confidence about feeding now. Big thanks. Callum Is so cute. I am getting Dad to do pics for me next week. Well done on the longer sleeps.

Anje - you are amazing. My word you deserve huge kudo's forbeing so positive for so long. Being preggy was not my finest moment. Lol

Betty - good luck with tying up lose ends. Seems to be very time consuming getting organised on the work front. I had a good chuckle about your ticket to the moon story. Now I secretly hope you do get caught out so we have a funny story to read!

afm - Tessa is one week old. Wow time does fly when you are having fun.

Emsmom- must be so wonderful to be home with little Kate. She is beautiful. Can't believe that we were all having drinks just the other day and now you and Faw already have your bundles of joy..
Kate sounds like such a darling, and it is so pleasing that you are doing so so well

Claire- enjoy your appointment today, let us know how it goes. Are you planning on storing babies stem cells? My brother did with his first baby. DH researched it with our first, but we never kept them.

Meags - I am so proud of you for trying so hard with the breast feeding. Wow- 5 hour at the lactation consultant. You are such a star! You must be exhausted with all the pumping etc. Let us know how it goes with the pead.
And you have already lost 7kg... Shew

Hopefully the smiling comes very soon. Glad you are getting some
sleep, and that he is being a star- only waking once during the night. Does he sleep in bed with you?
My last day at work is 26 April, unless the gynae tells me otherwise.
I have tried not to take on any new work during the last couple of weeks, so at the moment I am just trying to sort out and tie up loose ends, and get the cases that I do have in a position to hand over to colleagues.

Lucy- hope you get more sleep soon.

AnjeD - You wre MIA, I though for sure you were having baby. FX that baby comes soon soon and there is no need for an induction. Wondeful that you are enjoying the last days of being pregnant. Relax and enjoy.

Misty and Schatsie- your first day of ML, how wonderful. Wish I was joining you!, put your feet up, get a minicure, pedicure and your
hair done! Not much me time after baby comes so you may as well get the most of it. Oh and go shopping stock your freezer....

AFM- Yay it's Friday- planning a relaxing weekend. Tea and playdate for Matthew tomorrow. Am hoping DH will start getting the furniture in the nursery, and I can start putting the room together. And going through all the lovely gifts from my baby shower. I did try to put some photo's up but, clearly I am doing something wrong. But they are on FB.

Joli, aah man, it is a pity that you couldn’t see the pead, hopefully it is something that will pass soon. Congrats on the wonderful weight gain. Wow, UIF was really fast with your payments, lucky you. I love the 10 week pic of Callum.

Kimika, hehe, tx for asking, I am still feeling really good. I am sure you will be able to spice up your dress, you seem to be very creative. Sjoe, sounds like you are really busy, must say I will think twice now when I see a mom with 4 or more kiddies. Hehe, I can just imagine the barefoot lady with a whole bunch of kids.

Meags, I do hope M settles soon. Thank goodness your mom is there to help and hopefully DH will start helping now as well. Congrats on the latching, I am sure this will help as well. Thank you for sharing the advice, I will definitely keep it in mind. Cannot believe it has been 1 week already. Enjoy your newborn shoot !!

Mistymom, Schatsie – Enjoy the ML, I am told to rest a lot, but there is only so much rest you can do in a day, maybe you have more luck than me with the resting part.

Tazzy, whoohooo on the bleeding being gone and enjoy the gym sessions, I can’t wait to go back. Good luck with DH gone.

AFM: Thank you for all the advice, I have done most of the things mentioned, will try the food and drinks next. I really don’t mind being over the due date, L is seriously busy early morning and in the evenings, but I can feel there is not much space left. I would however like her to arrive soon, as I don’t want an induction. The wax was this time around not that bad, not sore at all.

We had an appointment with the dr today, she said that everything is 100 %, she is not suggesting an induction as yet, thank goodness, but if L is not here by Monday, she wants me to go to hospital on Monday so that they can monitor L for a little while and after that I have another appointment on the 8th. Let’s hope L arrives before then. She did mention that the head is really low now.

I have had unexpected guests here every single day. I was a little upset with DH on Tuesday, since I don’t really want people here when I do go into labour, but he thought it was a good idea to invite both my sisters on Tuesday to visit and later they decided to sleep over and only left late yesterday. He meant well, but I really only want him around during labour.

Hello All! I am so anxious for news from Anje! Sjoe she's now nearly a week overdue - poor woman - can't be easy.

Kimika - I didn't give Callum anything as I didn't know he was going to go for his shots - he was only going to see the paeditritian but when she couldn't see us, I dediced to take him anyways. Oh, she called to apologise - nice ne.

Lucy - sorry, but I don't agree with the size of your boobies - you won't make less milk because your boobs are small. You will have less milk if you don't get enough rest, not eat, are stressed, not feed enough etc. Just wanted to say that when Callum was in hospital, they would change his nappy before his feed to they didn't have to bother him after the feed to change his nappy.........maybe try that.

Meags so glad Matt is feeding now - sorry about his tongue - hope it's not too painful for him.

EmsMom - I also hate the way the nurses bath our babies - I like to bath Callum in the big bath with enough water so his whole body is wet - he never cries. And I like to move him around in the bath - and he really like that - staring at me while I make him 'swim' he he. Can't wait to see more pics.

Well Callum now goes down at about 11 and then wakes for 1 feed at around 2 or so and then sleeps till the morning at around 7. I don't get up at night anymore - just feed him in bed. Tonight is the first night in about 3 weeks that he is now sleeping (before 11!) so will see what happens later on . He is still not smiling - argh man, I just can't wait for a smile. 10 weeks and counting.

Schatsie and MistyMom - enjoy your leave! So awesome. Not long to go anymore.

Thanks for the BFing tips, I have actually started something similar (will do one post on that at end!) I can honestly say I do not miss being pregnant or my tummy! But I am sorry that you do and that it is making you sad! Take care hun.

Kimika - Thanks for the laugh, I have no idea how you do it though. I am glad you say dummying s not bad. I have been a bit paranoid about that ..... mainly because I want to BF and don't want to have to stop cos I have messed up my nipples.

Schatsie - Whhoop whoop so so so pleased you have a break from pain. It is so draining mentally as well as physically.

2KM - I am (.)(.) and definately not ( . )( . ) hee hee so that must definately playing a role although my (.)(.) have been pouring, when I feed on one side the other just runs! I will be patient.

Emsmom - Kate is such a sweetie! I am so happy you are doing so well, congrats and wow dinner guests already!!

Claire - I finally got around to it ..... sorry for the HUGE delay!

Meags - Go Matt Go!! Well done that is awesome news, how do you feel? I hope proud is one of them Kudo's to DH too!

Afm - Had my first check with gynae, uterus a little big but he is not worried. I have healed soooo well. I only have a 2cm clot left. Haven't bled for 2 days already!
Well after my busy night .......... I got 4 hours solid sleep. I am so excited to see what tonight brings, even if it is no sleep.
What I have been doing (not rigidly but as far as possible) is in the day waking Tessa every 2 1/2 - 3 hours to do the feed routine. and then 4 hourly at night. The feed routine being similar to Kimika (and others) with suckle til she drops the nipple and then I allow a 5 min snooze as she seems to wind herself if I leave her. Then up on my lap for a sideways burp but just gentle and I don't stress if she doesn't ..... it is more to wake her up than anything. If she starts flicking her hands (for karate people - like a shute uke) then I know there is a poop on board and my little "lady" screws up her face and gets it out with force and volume .... my word!!! We even recorded it it is so funny. Then I let her suckle again on the same boobie. Once she falls off I get DH to come collect her and he walks with her on his shoulder for 5 min and then does a nappy change. I then offer the new boobie. She usually goes down after that but sometimes wants a 4th suckle before going down. I then usually walk her for the next feed.... although today she started waking just as I would go get her. I hope it continues but I don't mind (for now) if it goes pear shaped. Just try something new.
About the jaundice, I do put her in the sun but need to fight the lethagy to feed her. Her colour is almost normal. Sure by tomorrow will be right as rain.

Sorry for the essay! Hope not too boring.
