Lucy that pic is so adorable! Re the feeding, do you leave her to sleep after the feed and she then wakes up for her next feed or do you wake her to feed? In the beginning they do drink like every 2 hours or so. Try to keep things calm when you feed her, feed her, burp her etc. and put her down (if she's not screaming), at night you shouldn't have lights on (just a lamp) and no talking and too much activity etc. Callum will now be really misluk from 7 - 11, but then he goes down and he still wakes up twice then, but I just feed and then it's back to sleep so that doesn't bother me. I don't even pick him up - he is in bed with me, so I just feed him laying down. Works for me. It will get better and then she will feed 3 - 4 hourly. How are you otherwise? Do you still have lots of pain?

Got my 1st UIF money paid to me - yippee - sommer 2 1/2 months money at once!

Tomorrow we've got our last shoot for the L&L magazine - very excited about that. Can't wait.

Callum was so heartsore after his injections yesterday, but he's much better today.

Ai Faw - hope your life gets sorted.

Meags - any news on M? Shame he sounds really distressed. Pumping is so time consuming. Enjoy the newborn shoot. Let the photographer take some shots with the whole family first, then you've got those, and them you and M and then daddy and M and then she can carry on with him alone and you then don't have to worry about your make-up and clothes etc. and can help her with calming him etc. Hope it goes well. I can't wait for Anje's baby to arrive now! I'm doing her newborn shoot.

Cath - you are so positive about everything. Do you ever feel down? Well I'm back to my pre-preggy weight, but my tummy is so flabby and ugly - so got to work on that. Hope running on the treadmill will do the job, cause that's all I can fit into my schefule at the moment.

Kimika - ya I remember you said some babies pull away from the boob when they reach 8 weeks, but Callum is not 8 week for real as yet. He does not even smile yet. But argh, you never know. Hopefully he will settles and it won't get worst. Post some more pics of Reuben. How's Pietertjie with Reuben?

Meags and Cath - thanks for the advice. Looks good and normal then. Everyone has warned me about snacking and dummying. So was worried about that. Nipples also being champs so want to keep that up. Looks like my prepping paid off. I got my mature milk within a few hours of birth so I think that must be hard for her to digest too. You ladies make sense that - thank you thank you

Struggling to load belly pics - will do it later if I can from PC as not working from phone.

Just quickly to Lucy - remember their tummies are tiny at this stage so they rather do small feeds close together (cluster feeding). It shouldn't last forever but it may very well last a few days or so. Also breastmilk is digested easier than formula so they do tend to eat more often

Schatsie lovely email from your friend - will think of it when Matt is driving me insane.

Faw - your life sounds too complicated :( I really wish everything would settle for you soon

Hi Lucy LOL better what? Tennis? :) You know I never had any pain really after the c-section so I could've probably started exercising earlier - not that I'm really straining myself! :) LOL!!

Re your feeding dilemma - exactlly the same thing happened to me also very early on and I put it down to a growth spurt. I think it happened one night maybe 2...basically William was awake ready to feed again within like an hour of putting him down and my feeds were also taking 1-1.5/2 hours. Now they're either 30 mins or sometimes an hour. Also my paed told me feeding is GOOD so dont stress! if she is feeding that's the sign of a healthy baba! Hourly is hectic I doubt it will last. W is now in a really nice routine sometimes 3 hour gaps, sometimes 5.5 hour gaps! DUring the day most 4 hour gaps! Amazing! Sounds lke you are doing great!!!!

Hey everyone.
Meags- wow you having a hard time but looks like you are getting sorted. Your experience is really paying off looks like you are doing a fab job.

I have a question about feeding if any brainiacs can help me. Feeding takes about 1 and 1/2 hours. She has a lot of wind and have lots of crying to get it out. Hence why so long. Then we would start the process again about an hour later. Since 8pm last night she has started again almost immediately so going from one feed to next.is this a growth spurt, so soon?or am I doing something wrong or is it normal.

cath - tennis? My word, how. Does it get better suddenly or is it bit each day.

Kimika- you are very talented.

Morning girls

Oh Meags, I'm so sorry to hear how you are battling with Mat! It must be the most difficult thing in the world to see him so unhappy and not be able to make it go away! I really hope the paed/lactation consultant manages to sort this out for you real soon! Also can't believe your husband

Lucy glad to hear that you are enjoying Tessa so much!

Cath I'm so happy for you that you're still so in love with William and clearly loving motherhood! I can also imagine wondering like you, how you ever survived without having your little angel in your life!

Reading the posts from the mommies who's had their babies about how they're coping with motherhood, I can't help but notice how everyone's experience is so different, just like our pregnancies have been so different. Some of us had the most amazing easy, hardly any complaints, wish I could be pregnant for longer, pregnancies and others had major aches and pains or dramas since the beginning. Yet somehow, we all get through it.

I had a good laugh at a mail from one of my friends this morning. She also had a baby about 7 months ago and has had her share of ups and downs. She says: When things get a bit much, you haven't slept for a few days, he won't shut it and you want to rugby kick him into the ocean, keep in mind that you're all he has - get over yourself and offer yet another mommy hug. :)

What a lovely cool, rainy winter's day here in CT! It is definitely easier to sleep in this weather and I just feel generally more comfortable and happy! I've been doing the 4 pillow thing every night since the weekend and it definitely is helping, so I'm feeling a lot more rested now.

Only 2 more days at work for me. We had a coffee/"celebration of our success" session with one of our vendors this morning and at the end they were so sweet to give me a Woolies gift voucher! I really have been super spoilt between my wedding and the baby showers and gifts from colleagues for the baby over the last few months!
