he he Lucy - you DH sounds too cute man. Glad he is helping and that you've got so much milk. How do find breastfeeding? Easy? I struggled with sore nipples for over 6 weeks but all is fine now - eventually and I am now actually starting to enjoy feeding Callum. Would like to keep it up. Never BF my girls for long.

Meags with my c-section the bleeding lasted for about 6 weeks. With my normal deliveries, it was gone before 3 weeks.

Faw glad your baby is so easy at least.

Well AFM - had a horrible weekend. Was supposed to photographed a kids party yesterday, but then I couldn't find the place and the client never answered her phone - called her about 5 times. There's apparently 3 streets with the same name. Anyways, I tried to turn around - once again - on a dirt road and not long after that the oil light came on and then all the lights and then the car just stopped. I tried to call DH - about 20 times and he never answered he phoned! Called my client to tell her and she then wanted to fetch me to do the party and drop me at my car again after 5. Told her that I can't just leave the car next to the road and try sort it out after 5 so she was very upset with me. Eventually got hold of DH and he then had to fetch me with Callum. It was pouring with rain and when he got there, I went home with the bakkie and Callum and he waited for the car to be towed and only got home after 7 last night.

I am so stressed. We don't have money to fix the car and the warranty does not cover anything oil related! Seems nothing is going right for us. Just this year, the tumble drier, the fridge, the tv, my printer, DH's printer, my pc, DH's bakkie, my car mirror all broke - what I can think of now. Just wish I can win the lotto!

Well Callum was screaming again last night. Been giving him tissue salts for cramps but can't see a difference as yet. At least he is calm from 23h00 till the morning and during the day he is also an angel.

Kimika - glad the wedding went well. Can't wait to see some pics.

Mistymom like you I'm also not managing to sleep late now that I'm on ML - go figure!! But as you say, we can at least have a nap during the day so that will be nice. Do you also have to see your gynae weekly from now on?

AFM: We had a lovely day with my parents yesterday. My mom went to a lot of effort to make Arno some blankets for his crib and some nappies for drooling.

I seem to be getting another cold - woke up in the night with a sore throat. At least I have some Medi-keel and cough syrup left from last time so will self medicate if need be.

I have another gynae appt this afternoon at 5 - can't wait to see how much baba weighs now. Dr said last week he will do the strep test today tho - arghhh!

Other than that I'm planning a quiet day - just want to do a quick stop at a baby shop for some last minute things and get some material to make a toilettries bag for A's room.

Kimika- pleased the wedding went well. Looking forward to seeing some pics- am sure you and the boys looked lovely and the cup cakes went down well.
I also had trouble with BF- loved the way you described it- I think many moms experience this. But as you say it did get easier as time went by. I hope it will be easier this time.

Schatsie- glad u enjoyed the shoot. I never booked one. I also don't really like the fuss, and I really don't have any nice clothing to wear at this stage. But I will definitely rake baby for a new born shoot. Never did that with Matthew. Only did one at 6 months when he was already smiling and sitting.

Faw - sorry about Sars. Hope your divorce goes through quickly so that you can move on with your life.

Lucy- well done on keeping up with the growth spurt! All the feeding, you must be exhausted. Hope feeding has returned to normal.

Meags- i used to walk Baby up and down- for hours, holding him in an upright position, it seemed to give some relief. The paed advised me to breast feed and to top up with an anti reflux formula. Baby was olso on losec pills. This calmed the screaming fits quite a bit.

Cath- glad the trip went well and W was a star in the car. Well done, hope you had a wonderful time.

Mistymom- my scan is also on Wednesday! Thank goodness I had no April fools played on me this year.

AFM- I spent yesterday shopping and sorting babies room out. A bigger job than I thought. Well the compactum and cot are up. I felt rather emotional cleaning the furniture. Brought back memories of the many hours spent choosing the furniture and packing all Matthews clothing in it. Silly just felt a bit sad that I am handing it all down to his sister.

I still need to get a mattress. Then I can make the cot up. Next
weekend I will sort out everything else that is in storage and see what I can use.

I also bought odds and ends from baby city- for the hospital- pads, disposable underwear- telament drops etc. I got a bottle of that blackberry thorn. When do you start taking it?

Matthew's ring nose is back. Last night he complained his ear is sore. Let's hope he is not too bad this morning. I will probably take him to the dr this afternoon.

Morning girls...well of cos now that I am a lady of leasure not working I owuld wake up at 5.30! Have put a pot of coffee on so at least can play house wife for DH! think I have had about 5 hour sleep...maybe my body is getting ready to be up half the night, maybe I am just getting excited or maybe I am just to uncomfortable to sleep. At least I can nap during the day now!

Meags, I am sure the bonding should start soon. Its probably because you have had such a battle! Maybe once your mom leaves you will have more alone time with M and the bonding should kick in! Are you going for the tongue op still?

I am looking forward to my GYnae appointment on Wednesday. Was also thinking about going to gym fro a little swim....have not been in months and maybe will help with the aches and pains etc. Will see how I feel later! Also looking froward to my sister coming! She arrives from Irelandn in about 2 weeks and is here for 2 days then going to Durban for her sister in laws wedding then back to CT for a week. I am so lucky that this wedding has "clashed" with the babbie sbirth so at leats she will see her little neice or nephew! I also cant wait to see all the goodies she has bought for the chipolata! She leaves on 2 MAy and Doc said the latest he will take me is till 27 April so she will definetly be around!

Nothing else much to report on in the last 5 hours. Hope you ladies have all had good nights and babies are behaving!

Hehe MistyMom soon it will be your turn (when people said that to me I thought "ya well when?????????") but really, once the baby is here, there are times you wish you just had one more day of being alone (well in my case anyway). I usually start feeling that way around 5pm. I am just so exhausted and wish Matthieu was back inside!!!!
I still dont think I have bonded properly yet. I do adore him and yes he's very cute...but I still feel like I am babysitting someone's baby for them. The night feeds are my worst. I am so tired. And it seems no matter what time I set my alarm to pump, Matthieu will choose to wake around 10 minutes before or after, either meaning my pumping s delayed an hour or more or its interrupted. its really frustrating as I generally try to get as much sleep as possible but I need to wake to pump or my boobs are so hard and lumpy and sore if I go more than 5 hours. sigh....such a challenge!!

I wanted to ask...how long did u ladies bleed for? How long was it bright red for before it changed to brown?
I still have that really heavy feeling down there and nothing relieves it (well actually I should try the ice pad again...maybe that'll help). But i had a look (like Kimika suggested!) everything looks fine?! no swelling, my stitches are healed. there is a tiny scratch on the side that burns when I wee...its so small so I have no idea why it burns so badly?!

Thanks for the comments on the photos - I am so so chuffed. Really hope the rest are just as nice. Makes it worth all the money
