Hi friends. I have tried to read but I don't have much time and feel bad 4 leaving u all in dark. I will do proper story when I get a chance but a brief run down is that needed adrenalin on op table and that was start. T is big despite actual weight, so they had to really yank and tear some muscles inside to get her out, having to hurry cos of me not doing well. Then I bled badly and needed some hectic drain thing. All good while spinal still working and had an amazing 3 hours kangeroo caring for T. That is why couldn't let anyone know weight and length etc cos they hadn't down it yet she was still on me. My word what an amazing awesome experience. Do it if you can, ladies. Anyway since then they gave me morphine as spinal wore off. Bad bad. I was worse than drunk and weak and shaking for over 6 hours. Terrified to touch t. And it didn't work for the pain! So that was first and last me that. The problem is there is not much else I can take. Eventually decided to risk voltaren twice a day. Which is obviously inadequate pain control for what had been through. Yesterday was bad but today is already better and I believe the worst is over. My little champ is a pro latcher and I am looking so forward to another day with her. I really can not believe it. Someone pinch me, not sure how I got the privledge to make and raise an angel. I am so grateful and honoured. Well I hope I get a chance later to come chat. Bye for now. Love me

MEAGS - firstly I am so sorry about ur birth experience and what you are going through with M now. I had not read before when I posted and worry I sound insensitive. I think ur birth is testament to what a remarkable young woman u are. We of course already new this! Honestly hun give urself credit and cut urself some slack. Never mind ur difficult circumstances - immediate bonding is rare and something not everyone experiences never mind ur traumatic ones. I keep this in mind when I am with Tessa. In my whole 2 days experience I have found that T is fantastic the most darling and precious thing I have ever encountered. I am lucky to be loving all my moments with her. But it is still not real yet somehow. She doesn't feel like mine he that makes sense. But I am not worrying about it as I thought about this a lot before. The more time I spend with her and the more I start getting to know her and she gets to know me to , the better I feel, and more real it becomes. Her watching me while I feed her is a huge part of that and u haven't had that amazing privledge yet. I think ur time 2 do that will come soon and with all you have been through u will develop an incredibly strong bond. The love is there that is the easy part. Hi ladies

So I woke up at a strange hour, the first time that has happened in ages. Baby has what I think one would term baby hiccups. And so now I am awake.

Lucy - baby T is so so beautiful, you must be so proud. I do hope you are feeling better today and are able to enjoy this very special time.

Schatsie - I do hope that you had a better night last night. Your DH sounds like a darling. To have gone to both McD and Wimpy . Did you manage to watch the rugby? The stormers are on top form, it's so exciting. The sharks are next!

Meags - how is baby Matt doing? Has he managed to latch yet? Sounds like you are doing a great job with the pumping, you are getting a lot out. I do hope that you have managed to get some sleep.

Jessica- wonderful that Riley is doing so well, growing too quickly. Those new born clothing never last long. They seem to always remain " new".

AnjeD - Yay on reaching the 40 week mark!
I still need to complete the dreaded Uif forms. I keep starting and then get side tracked. Perhaps I should do it at home instead of trying to fit it into working hours.
It sounds like your Dr will let you go till 42 weeks, lucky.
I'm not really into ear piercing, so it's probably not something I will do. I guess it's also because my Mom never pierced our ears. My father also wouldn't allow us to do it until we were about 13 years. Anyhow I remember going to get mine done when I was about 10 years. And then when I was about 15 going to get a second hole in the one ear - that hole is probably closed- have not used it in about 15 years..
Thanks for the name of the supplement. I must go and get some. Although I have been 2 nights cramp free.

Rakker - only 40 days- feels like high school! 33 for me- so I think that between you and I we will be the last ones to pop on this thread. Dr has. Said that he wound let me go past 41 weeks, which takes us into the first week of May. How are you feeling? I have definitely started to feel like my body is slowing down, I have been taking things more easy and not wanting to be on my feet any more. I seem to be plodding around now..

Faw - you have been so quiet, hope everything is ok and AH is doing well.

Emsmom - are you still doing well? Enjoying having your sister with you? Bet you are just about ready to get the caster oil out! Did you ever get the cash for the car seat?

AFM - I think I am having my baby shower today. I went to fetch Matthews hat from my mom yesterday and she was baking cookies. I never said anything. But I told DH that I busted my mom making cookies and he just laughed. So all in all they have managed to keep the secret well. Although I am not 100% sure....
Now do I act surprised? Lol. Hopefully I take it in my stride, I hate being the centre of attention, and I so hope it will just be close friends and not people that I have not seen in years. I mean I would rather see those people when I don't look like an elephant. But I will be so glad if the shower is today, I need to start buying things.

Talking about buying things- a new Game opened at our local centre- so we got a new fridge yesterday, it was so cheap, and our old one is way too small for a family of 4. People were going crazy buying stuff - just about everyone was buying tv's. Everything was so cheap. I never got anything else though as the shop was way too crowded so just ordered the fridge and left.

Lucy, she is sooo pretty! Enjoy every moment.

AFM: So we did go to the Loftus last week, was really disappointed in the Bulls, but hubby was very impressed with the Stormers – now he claims that L should be a Stormer support too….hehehe.....Men !!. My UIF forms were submitted successfully on Tuesday, had a couple of things to do this week and it was MIL's b-day on Friday. Someone asked if L has dropped yet, she has dropped slightly – I think, but not enough. Will post my 40 week pic tomorrow. Thank you Lucy for asking about drying goodies after sterilising, I was wondering the same thing and thank you for everyone else that answered. The last 3 nights I have been experiencing bad sleep nights and tummy I can feel the weight of my tummy when I turn from side to side now. Hope it is a good sign. I have always wanted to be able to take a 40 week phodie and hopefully we can do it tomorrow morning. I don’t really have other signs of labour, but I am really scared of induction, so I do hope she comes before an induction is necessary. I have another appointment with my dr on Friday at 13h00. I have been receiving a whole lot of phone calls from family and friends wanting to know if L is born yet, which is starting to irritate me, especially the ones from people whom we never have contact with. I know everyone is excited, but off course we will let everyone know when she is born. Funny thing is, I still love being pregnant, but I am more and more feeling ready for her arrival.

Question: My hubby and I had a discussion this week re piercing of L’s ears. When is the right time? I think as soon as possible and hubby thinks after 6 months. What do you think ?

Lucy, I had to laugh at your comment at how much bigger can you get, it is just amazing how much our skin can stretch. I love your last belly phodie !! The baby room is beautiful, where did you get the light fixture? CONGRATS on the birth of baby T, too bad re the morphine, but it sounds like you are already doing much better. She is too gorgeous, must say when I look at her, I cannot wait for L to be born. Can’t wait for more pics.

Joli, shame re Callum being colic like – hope it doesn’t last long, but I love the naked phodie where he lifts his head. Hehehe, breastmilk with Milo, now that is a first.

Faw: I am glad all went well on the naming ceremony and it sounds like AH is doing great. Hope the itching is better by now. Sore boob – OUCH !! Glad it is better already. How did it go with SARS, Home Affairs, Divorce court etc.?

Mistymom, wow glad you enjoyed your babyshower and that you were so spoiled. You have a wonderful DH for spoiling you with a pamper session and a maternity shoot – it sounds like it was a lot of fun and relaxing.

Betty, glad you enjoyed your day in Hermanus, if M is that cute with his cousin, I am sure he is going to be a wonderful brother. Hope you get enough rest over the weekend to get better. I had the same leg cramps and started to use a calcium and magnesium supplement, together with normal preggy vits, and the cramps stopped. I think mine is called Radical – Calmag tablets, or something to that effect, your pharmacist should be able to assist.

Schatsie, congrats on your 35 week mark – you have a lovely belly. Enjoy your ML !! Almost there, really hope the pain doesn’t get worse. Hehe, my hubby and I had a good laugh at the pic you posted.

Kimika, I stored your tel nr, will let you know as soon as something is happening here. Hope you found a dress for your brother’s wedding, but don’t worry about the flab, you just had a baby. Would love to see a phodie of the matching outfits for the boys. Strange that R was fighting the left boob, but luckily he took it now. Yay, congrats on the first smile, how amazing, I can just imagine.

Amy, wow, I am just tired of reading your post, you were really busy last weekend. Enjoy your last couple of days of work. To answer your questions, we bought the Chelino C3, will only know what it is like when we use it. RE cot in baby room or yours, not sure, at first we are going to try and have L sleep in our room at night and baby room during day, but will take it day by day and change if necessary. Have you been to your dr yet, I also think the tummy pain should rather be checked out.

Em, I am sure you are enjoying your sister’s visit, glad your dad is back, now everyone is there for baby’s arrival.

Meags, sounds like you had a lot of fun on the Xbox before M came, which is awesome, glad you could relax a little before he arrived. Bonus points for hubby on supporting your birth choice. CONGRATS on the birth of M and holding thumbs that he will soon be healthy enough to go home with you – great weight. I am really glad your mom is there for extra support. Don’t blame yourself, it is not your fault. Hope you at least had some proper sleep by now. Good luck with the b-feeding and expressing.
