Hi Schatsie - Re Spinal, I agree with Tazzy that they only do a Spinal with C-section. I had mine at 8 in the morning and then at about 1 went for a shower with hubby's help.... so I guess it depends from person to person. But you will have to take it easy anyway after the op, you're not going to want to walk around so soon anyways.
They say 6 weeks after the c-section cause in the event of you being in a car accident (by the Grace of God not) then it's more possible for your wound to open up internal and you could bleed inside or worse. But I think I started driving again at about 3 weeks.

Schatsie - congrats on 30 weeks!! the last few will go sooooo quickly!
as far as i know they only do Spinals for c-sections. its a one- off injection into your back. your legs will be dead for some time after the op. and as much as you"d want to hop out of bed it really isnt possible anyway.

I drove after 2 weeks. but I do live in a one-horse town. not too much traffic. I wouldnt recommend driving long distances or even on the freeways for a few weeks after cs. I think the major concern is if you had to have to brake quickly or be in a minor accident.

Oh damn, there I go and lose a long post! Was just thinking that’s never happened to me!! Let’s hope I can remember everything again!

Claire, your pics are lovely! You are making me very tempted to go for another 4D, but I guess it is a bit late now.

I feel so sad for Kaylae! How cruel of her mother to say it is her fault!!! And to separate her and her hubby at a time when they really need one another! So was the cord around the neck definitely the cause?

KarinM lovely belly pics! Looks like you’re close now!

AFM I’m 30 wks today! Can’t believe what a long road I’ve come already and I only have 9 weeks max to go!

Little Arno is moving so much lately, especially at night. I absolutely love feeling and watching him move! Just now I had the laptop on my tummy, but he clearly did not like it, so he started moving so much that I could not read anymore. :) I sommer started crying, I feel so blessed to finally have my little baby on the way after battling with TTC for so long! Ok and clearly the preggie hormones are making me very emotional lately. :)

I finally managed to get some decent sleep for the first time this week and am feeling a lot better today. I however still feel rather dizzy and “pap” and am still coughing badly, so decided to stay at home for another day. No point in “undoing” all the bed rest I got this week by going to work before I feel 100%.

OK, so my question for the day is: epidural vs spinal for C sec. my dr mentioned spinal, but the What to expect book says then you have to lie still for 8 hours afterwards! Is this not the case for the epidural and if not, why not have an epidural for c sec?

Also Joli and other experienced mommies, how long are you not allowed to drive after C sec. I think someone mentioned 2 weeks, but I’ve also heard 6!

Claire - soooooooo cute!! Your little boy looks so happy and comfy snuggled up against mommy!! Well done girl. You have done such a super job and I know you have not had an easy time.

Cath - not flying ......... but lots of driving! Around 5 000km a month.

Karin - I'll go squizz the tank tops this weekend. Love the belly, I agree a lovely round shape. I got told (again) I am not going to make term as I have started protruding! I ignored the comment but now you are making me think .... does that mean the end is nigh?!!
Whoop on the offer, I will fx that all is accepted. How exciting!

Joli - I agree, superwoman! Glad you are starting to make peace with your birth. It is horrible when something plays on your mind and unsettles you. Take care and happy 1 month birthday Callum!

Tazzy - I have the same fears. For me it also means a different hospital which is stressing me. Oh well what will be will be! Oh dear we are still doing full aircon.

Jessica - You will cruise it, you'll see :) :)

I have already asked my folks to help when I'm in hospital by taking & fetching Bryce to & from school. Feeding him dinner & bathing him at night before they all come for a visit.

The only thing that will swing me to make the 1st D-DAY is if my gynea does my c-sec first thing in the morning - 7 or 8.

hi girls

wow - if I do go for the c-sec on the 1st it means that I'm only pregnant for another 10 days..... trying to wrap my head around that little fact after almost 40 weeks, we'll I'll be 39 weeks & 1 day....
