hey ladies.

Hows everyones week-end been?

Cath, good luck for tomorrow, I know everything is going to be wonderful! Please ask your DH to keep us up to date on what happens.

Joli, that weight gain is great! So wonderful that you are having no problems with feeding. He really is too cute!!

Meags, I'm sorry you are having such a hard time, I hope that things come right soon. Your photos do look lovely though, even before the editing.

Betty, glad you had such a good time at the concert. When is Matthews birthday? What are you doing for it?

Misty how you doing today? Hopefully no more sickness.

Lucy, what day is your c-section booked for? Also really dont pay attention to comments from people - I've seen friend been told the exact same thing by non medical staff and end up going to 41weeks.

We had our photo shoot yesterday and I cant wait to see the pics. Then I actually just chilled the rest of the day, I'm really having a hard time right now. I'm so tired all the time and my body is so sore. I'm wishing the next few weeks away and I feel so bad about it. But enough complaining. I'm sure if it was just cooler then I'd be fine. Thankfully DH is in super care mode so I'm not having to do much.

Anyways, hope you all have a great week-end.

Meags - take 2 receiving blankets and 1 warmer blanket - that should be fine. Callum is still wearing long sleeved vest under all his shirts / babygrows - I didn't use any short sleeved clothes as yet. Sorry the the heartburn and don't worry about your weight - breastfeeding will fix that. And yip, Callum is only on breastmilk. One thing I'm proud of - couldn't get that right with my girls. We don't even have formula in the house. I express as well so I've got some milk in the freezer for when I'm not here.

Shame Meags, you must just try to relax. I'm sure I went into early labour due to stress. I was very stressed my whole pregnancy re finances, work, coping etc. Also feel DH doesn't understand, so try to enjoy your pregnancy and bond with your unborn baby (I was always just to busy to actually do that!).

I'm also sure your photographer will do some editing. Choose your pics and then just ask her whether she will edit them more and hear what she says. Tell her that you like the bright colours etc.

And how cute is Callum? LOL I know you are most probably already bored of all my pics, but ya, I can't help myself he he.

haha yip BettyF that was me on that complicated diet!!
It's not actually that complicated once you start it. I chose to just eat more or less the same meals every day. Which was exceptionally boring - but I never had to try think of something to eat and always knew exactly which groceries to buy. And in 8 weeks I lost 10kg and 2 dress sizes so I didnt care how boring it was!!! Will definitely go that route again after the birth if the weight is not coming off (yes, yes...i know one needs a healthy diet to breastfeed!) but I am desperate to lose the weight. I am very desperately unhappy with the way I look and feel at the moment and DH not wanting to be intimate just makes it all worse!

otherwise it's 4:30am here...went to bed at 10pm. woke at 1:30am to wee and heartburn...then at 3:30am with heartburn...have now given up on trying to sleep. drinking a glass of hot milk and a cup of tea and hopefully then i can sleep a bit. was an emotional wreck last night and cried for about 2 hours on my own in the kitchen. DH was so tired from work and had such a bad day. when he got home every time I tried talking to him, he would say 'hmm' which means I know he is not listening (he does this while watching TV) so eventually I just went to the kitchen to cry! I hate sitting alone all day and then he doesnt even talk to me at night. I understand his work situation at the moment is really bad and he is stressed and tired. but I am also very lonely here and very emotional and hormonal! even if I make friends here, it is going to take a while before they are good friends that I can confide in (like you ladies).
sigh...not sure we are going to have much of a good anniversary this year

Wow so much reading to do! Watching c'beebies with Matthew....
The U2 concert was great! We had wonderful seats and the stage set up was the best ever. Baby was kicking like crazy at first but settled soon. Today my voice is croaky and my feet are sore....
Misty I also went to the prior concert- which was also very good!

Schatsie- I had an epidural with my c- section. But I was going for natural, had an epidural and the dr said he had to cut.. DH was with me all the time, except when he went to put his nursing outfit on. As I was being weeled in he droped the camera...it was in a few pieces which he somehow managed to hold together for birth picture. I remember thinking that I was about to be cut and he was worried about the camera..lol.

Hi Carla- welcome......The pj thing seems to be an issue. I bought some yesterday at Edgars- the are not actual button down ones for breast feeding but have a low v thing that leads to 3 buttons..
It was me who mentioned the maternity pj's. Found them at edges on CT 3 yeara ago. Still have them- elastic is finished though.. May just insert a new elastic. But don't really want to wear old pj's. My sister got me some pj's in December from woolies- also a tank top type thing with pants with that strechy band type waist... So I think I am sorted!

Emmsmom - enjoy the photo shoot.. Can't wait to see some pics!

Meags - when you got married were you on Moomie. I was struggling to loose post birth weight from Matthew around that time... I think you sent me this major complicated diet...which had worked so well for you.
Congrats on your anniversary. Have a wonderful evening with DH celebrating...

Joli congrats on Callum's one month! Picking up weight is excellent. I can't remember re the bleeding but it was long for about 4/6 weeks then it stopped and never came back. Only got my period again after I stopped breast feeding at 5/6 months.

No plans for the rest of the weekend, got to get Matthews 3rd birthday invites done- otherwise relaxing- perhaps will start the hospital bag. Oh and must phone discovery for a booking number. Gynae wants the form completed by Wednesday.

thanks for that Joli - I feel a bit better now!! Very true that she probably hasnt edited them totally until I choose...HOWEVER...
she did tell me she will edit 20-30 and create the gallery from the many she took...so do you think she just edited them enough to look ok but will still edit more once I choose?
I dont really want to ask her and she gets offended!!
she really is such a lovely lady and she has put me in touch with paediatricians, masseuses etc.

that is fantastic about Callum's weight gain! Well done mommy! Is he only on breastmilk?

well this afternoon I decided it's time to actually do something other than sit on the couch...so I finally finished all the ironing (all baby clothes and our clothes - I had to wash everything that was in the trunks cos it stank!)
I then started to prepare the hospital bag...I am still not even sure what to pack even though I have 4 lists! And I realised, I do not have 1 babygrow for a newborn! Only summer onesies (well only 3 of those!) and then 2 pants and tops. so I think I must go buy some babygrows as I'm sure those will be easiest whilst in the hospital. I also wanted to ask, do you ladies think we need to put a vest under their baby grows? Even like a sleeveless vest? Cos I have none of those either.
I also dont know if I need to take blankets? I put in 3 receiving blankets (is this too many?? I am there 2 days) and then 2 warmer blankets. Is that not necessary??
Gosh I just dont know how to pack that bag!!

I then put batteries in all the things that required batteries. Took all the tags off the toys and everything out of boxes. started packing the changing table thingy with nappies, cotton wool etc.

moved the feeding chair and walking ring into the garage...no need for it to be in the house for now...should I cover it with plastic?

I also rearranged our wardrobe as I have so much 'stuff'. not sure it'll ever fit again....plus I want to take photos of the house this weekend to post so tried to start tidying things up, putting things into cupboards or where ever just so it looks better!!

going to get the cot tomorrow....can I get a hallelujah? I am so excited!! Can FINALLY post pics of the nursery!!!! still got a couple of things I need to put up on the walls...hope to do that tomorrow too.

it's our 1 year anniversary on Sunday. how exciting! going to dinner tomorrow night to celebrate that.

ok ladies please answer all my random questions about hospital bag items and clothing and vests!!

CATH - you have 3 more nights to sleep without a baby waking you every few hours!!!!!!!!!!!! can you even believe it? does it feel real????? is everything ready???????

oh I forgot to say! One of our trunks was opened for inspection by customs. I was so annoyed. we supplied keys with the trunks and they STILL cut the locks. meaning the trunk was left unlocked for the remainder of the journey. well, they stole a couple of things out of it!! one thing being OVEN GLOVES!!!!!

MistyMom – you really should do a maternity shoot. I never did with my girls and nearly missed out the last time as well. If we didn’t take those pics at the beach, I wouldn’t have any again.

Meags – your pics are lovely. Remember those pics you need to proof are not edited as yet. I think you need to tell her which pics you want and she will then edit them. Most pics are dull before the final editing. Her work is really lovely. Try get some editing tips for me he he! Editing really take up a lot of time, so she won’t be editing the pics you don’t want.

Cath – your DH is not allowed in when they do the spinal – well mine wasn’t and they only let him in once they’ve made the first cut. I could feel when they started cutting and when they did, I told them – you’re cutting and my husband is not here as yet!! My spinal also didn’t work first time, so I got 2.

Well I baked Callum a cake for his 1 month b/day but it flopped, so I had to use the one half to cover the other half (both fell flat in the middle!), still put some choc icing over and 1 candle he he. Had my hair done today, took some nice pics of Callum in the studio (will post them soonest) and now I’ve got a terrible headache. Doing a family shoot tomorrow and Sunday nothing. Megan has gone to visit my MIL for the weekend.

Those ladies who had c-sections before – can you remember for how long you bled? The bleeding has stopped for about a week now and tonight it’s back – lots and red – is this normal?? Sorry, I can’t even remember when I had the girls re this.

For those who are not on FB – I took Callum to the paediatrician on Monday (14 Feb) and he weighted 2.495kg. He picked up nearly 250g per week since he got home and he should have picked up at least 150g per week. Nice hey! He’s feeding really well and I can see that he is much bigger already. Megan keep saying that the baby fell out my tummy he he.

Enjoy your weekend ladies!
