Quick question... Have any of you ladies heard a "clicking" sound from your tummies?? Its like the sound of a knuckle clicking or joint... Have been hearing it on and off for about 3 weeks now. I know it sounds weird and being my third pregnancy I haven't experienced it before... so Im wondering... what on earth?? Is it baby or me? Hehe....

Kimika - With the potential of you going into labour soon. I would go to a dr and get a proper antibiotic ....... you can't be sick with a newborn!! You can still use the locabiotal for symptomatic relief. But if the bug has progressed far you'll need something else. Get better soon friend.
Yippeeee on the nappy bag, I can't wait to see the pic :)

Tazzy - Fab on the parcel reaching our shores! I am sure you'll find some use for the fabric but it is irritating though. Good news that DH only goes for short stints now, at least that will be more manageable. My howick date is looking like the 17th feb. I love the tummy in the sand tip and will def give it a bash this weekend :P

Karin - I love your belly, you are not big for 35 weeks and not a first pregnancy. Your mat shoot sounds awesome, please share some pics with us :)

Meags - Grrrrrr, finances in a marriage are a big source of evil. Hope things settle down ultra soon. At least midwife and kitties are sorted. take care hun.

Claire - I was forgiven for going away this weekend by Feta but he took ages after my joburg trip. They are so funny!!

Emsmom - How selfish and inconsiderate of that man. I think you have made the right descision and I wish you the best of luck with it. How was your spa weekend?

Jessica - Me in the kitchen at 2am is becoming a very regular occurance ...... hee hee! You're in good company!

Misty - Whoop whoop for DH being home. Does he go again before the birth?

Afm - Did loads of time in the swimming pool down the south coast was way better that the beach. It is amazing how much lighter my belly felt. Everytime I got out the pool it felt like something was pulling it down. DH and i spent a lot of time talking about Tessa which we both needed. It was a perfect weekend for the 2 of us and I do feel we are "ready" for our little madam's arrival. Now if I could just ditch work ........!!!

Morning ladies. :)

Hope everyone had a nice and relaxing weekend.

EmsMom - Phew... that sounds hectic, you had to have been real scared by the posibilities after listening to that dr... I would have been. But good for you that you haven't let it put you off your decision to have a vbac. :) I hope and pray that you will have the wonderful birth you want. Not long now too... time is flying!

Kimika - Shame man... sorry about your cold. :( Now is really not a nice time to be feeling flu'ish. Hope you get something to help get better soon, or ask your dr for something if all else fails.
I've been waking up in the mornings with a sore, thickish throat for the last week or so... I'm hoping it doesn't change into anything worse.

AFM: Well I had a very nice weekend. My hubby celebrated his birthday on Saturday so we spent the day together with the kids and just had some quality time and ate at a nice Turkish restaurant the evening. It was really a lovely day. Yesterday was a bit hectic, we had to rush and prepare in the morning for our Maternity and Family photo shoot that I was able to organise... :) My first time doing something like that and wow what a nice experience! It was really great and the lady photographer was stunning, so good with the kids and made me feel quite comfortable even though I was half nude at one stage with bare breasts....
I cant wait to see the photos!! Hubby was just as impressed and excited about the results. She said I should get it by Thursday, so now to just patiently wait. :)

Emsmom, shooo that dr sounds quite horrible! He should know better than to be telling you all those horror stories.. eish.. So I agree with you on rather staying with your first gynae, he atleast wasnt agains your vbac, and you need all the positive support you can get.

I was actually thinking of you last night, I was putting sticky notes in my book and was reading the part of breathing baby down and not pushing. So I thought for myself, there is no way that "normal" drs and midwife's wont force you to push.. they will prob think your crazy if you ignore them and just continue breathing.. so I was thinking how much better it is to do homebirth and let everything happen naturally. So Im sad now to see you wont have the benefit of that. But I guess you dont have much of an option then and then rather stick to the hosp and gynae you are comfortable with!

Ag man, so Ive had this cold now since Friday and cant seem to lose it :( I bought Locabytol (sp) , thanks to Lucy always mentioning it ;) And it works well but its not going to make me *better*. And then last night I woke up with this hectic BH again, never had it in my sleep before!! So I was thinking what a disaster it would be to have a cold while in labor and with a newborn baby :( I need something that will get me better FAST!

Morning lovely ladies!

Sorry no personals, I'm actually far to tired to try use the little brains cells I have to remember everything. But I'm glad to see you are all doing alright.

Well for us, friday we met with Dr Drumbill - apparently one of the more pro natural Dr's around. We had wanted to see if he would be back-up for our homebirth. Well he said a huge no before even examining me. Then proceded to tell us all the wost case stories of a vbac - along with making us sign a form saying we understoon I/ or the baby could die or have life long compliations due to trying for a vbac. I actually left there more scared than I've been since we decided to go natural. And his list of rules - one being that I have a cathater in during labour!! (esp since my original Dr looked at me when like I was mad when I mentions possible risks and said there were none) Anyways, so we had the option of a) sticking with my first Dr at Panorama and while in labour having veery strict instuctions of what I will and wont allow. Or b) going with a midwife and delivering at vincent palloti with Dr Dumbrill as a back-up...
So we called med aid to see if they would cover a midwife - and they would, but only a tiny fraction of her cost and then wouldn't cover the Dr... so if Dr had to be called in we would basically be paying them both out our pockets.

So after a long week-end of deliberating we have decided to stick with our first Dr at Panorama - I actually feel safer with him - and I much perfer panorama to VP (I have my own demons about VP, and the smell just reminds me of death - not something I need while in labour)

So ya, I've drafted up my birth preferences, and will arrange to meet with the hospital midwives to discuss before hand as well. DH and my doula will be there to instercept and make sure nothing is done unless medically needed.

So thats my long selfish post.

Hope you are all doing very well.

Oh and baby is now at 1.8kg so growing nicely. :)
