Hello mommies!!!!!

Sorry for not chatting here at all. Its horrible of me I know.

Momms, its that time for the 3D / 4D scans and my Dr has a person that does it for them, but She charges R600.

I know a while back there was a lady here that does these scans, I think her name is Maryke or something!

Please can someone send me her details? mail and cell number. (jessysteyn@gmail.com)

AFM
Joshua and I are doing really well, at our last scan, (28W) he weighed 1.4kg and my weight was only 75kg. I have not picked up much weight, as I was 73kg before I found out that I was Pregnant. but Dr is happy with everything. my Placenta has also lifted to where it should be so C sec is not our only option!:)

I have been having trouble with scar tissue by my navel from when I had a hurnia opperation when I was a baby, so it really hurts when Joshua lays againts it and when it stretches, but Dr is not worried about it.

Our next scan is next week wed! Cannot wait!!!!

ok i have to go, but once again, if you want to add me to facebook, just look for jessica steyn with a profile pick of a kitten drinking from a bottle.

Mwa to all

Kimika that’s so exciting! Well someone must have a baby soon cause I’m feeling left out he he.

Lucy – I wore my bikini at Ushaka a week before giving birth. Yes some people didn’t know where to look, but hey I wasn’t gonna spend thousands of rands on a maternity cozzie.
Girls I looked at my maternity pics today. I carried bigger with Calum at 31 weeks than with Megan at 36 weeks! And I picked up less weight. I only picked up 7kg with Callum. But now I’m still sitting with a belly. And sjoe I’m not sure I’m gonna see a gym soon.

It’s really different bringing a prem baby home compared to a full term baby. My girls and I were out and about from the time they got home. I put them in the kitchen while I cooked and in the lounge when we watched TV etc., but Callum hasn’t left the room yet! He just sleeps all the time. I wake him every 3 hours (set my alarm) as that’s what they did at hospital. Then I change his nappy, feed and burp him and then he goes back to sleep.

He he Cath, I’m very short, so I don’t mind my girls being short, but I really hope Callum is at least a bit taller than DH! But ya, nothing we can do about it.

Meags my heart goes out to you my friend. BIG HUGS! I don’t even know what to say to make you feel better. Your DH should really catch a wake up!

Well Megan was very surprised to see that her brother’s got a willy! LOL was too cute. We changed his nappy and she went “he’s got a willy!!” LOL.

Schatsie – love your tummy pic. Shame I let the girls hold Callum for a couple of seconds between changing from one boob to the other, but other than that, we don’t really pick him up too much.
Sjoe Claire – 4 miscarriages. That must have been hard. One of my clients also had 4 miscarriages. Shame when she came for her shoot with her little boy, you could see that she was over the moon to finally have a baby.

Not sure whether any of you will be going to Genesis still. When I was at Parklane, I told one of the nurses there my story and when I mentioned Genesis she got this look on her face.......so I asked her and now? And she said that they’ve received lots of babies from Genesis already, very sick..........so the story that they’ve never transferred a baby is really not true.

Girls I’ve got this very good friend – the one who does my nails – we’ve been friends for like over 10 years. So the first day Callum came home, she came to pick up K for karate lessons and when she walked in I was holding Callum. The first thing she did was touched his hands. So I freaked out a bit and asked her not to touch her hands. She’s working with people’s hands the whole day and didn’t wash her hands. Now she’s a bit pissed off with me :-(, but I really don’t want Callum to get sick now. He’s really still so small. With my girls it was different. I still didn’t even let people come visit. With Megan, when I got home, every came as soon as I got home (and I got home a couple of hours after I gave birth) and I then had to make coffee etc. and every picked M up and that night was really bad. She screamed and screamed and screamed and I just cried! And I was hungry and still didn’t have time to eat so I’m not gonna let something like that happen again.

Anyways, nearly time for Callum’s feed. Wishing you all a peaceful evening.
Lovies, J.

Oh my gosh Kimika thanks for all the news, how incredbily exciting I am very envious!!!

But I also know we all get what we need so whatever the waiting time is, it's for the best! :) TERRIBLY Exciting though!!!!

Schatsie, both my cousins 'chowed' pineapple (i.e. ate about 3 pineaopples) at 38 weeks and went into a quick labour in fact one so quick that the daughter was born en route to hospital! :)

Kaylae, you rememember MONTHS ago you said we'd both get our naturals hey! :)

Kimika I've had NO bh yet and he also said lots of fluid like you - snap again! He thinks William will be about 3-ish kilos, like between 3 and 3.4-ish - sounds fine to me! :)

Yay, it's all so real now!! But still one day at a time!!!!

Lovely update, thank you! Kimika, maybe only 2 weeks to go for you!!!!!!!! I am happy that by end of this week or rather at 37 weeks baby is considered full terms according to Mayo Clinic. After 40 is post term or something like that!

Emsmom - I went and bought a sale bikini with padded cups to hide any leaks  and I am also going with the attitude of if the other people don't like the belly they mustn't look!! I am far too uncomfortable and have been looking forward to this for so long that I give rocks!!

Claire - Snoopy sounds like a real character.

Schatsie - Your belly looks lovely and you do look preggy now that it has gone past the boobies!

Rakker - We love birth stories and pics of baba's and belly's!! Never ever be old news.

Cath - Glad Will is doing so well. Had a good chuckle on the legs. My DH has very short legs so really hoping Tessa doesn't get that, so I related well!

Tazzy - Any news on DH and parcel? I am up in howick mid month if you are keen to meet. Will get dates and times soon.

Kimika - Little wriggle bunny! How do you feel about 2cm, I think I would have a serious wobbly. So I reckon you are one strong lady. I received my next batch of bra's today - they are awesome, so luxurious and even have extender jobs if I really blow up! I saw a really nice nappy bag today at Mr Price home and it made me think of you :)

Joli - hope your first night went super well

Oh Kimika - I am going to have nightmares tonight about that enema, grrrrrr. I did not realise.

Take care friends :P

Hey girls!!

Meags, dont worry.. soon your house and nursery will be all fitted out with new furniture and you can just relax! Wish I was there to help you shop.. you gotta know how much I love shopping ;) Shoo.. hubby is taking chances on leaving when you are so far along.. he really needs to make sure he understands that if he leaves then there will be a chance he will miss the birth of his first child!!??

Kaylae, Im so glad to hear all is well with you and baby and that the placenta has moved. Fantastic that you have a all clear so far for natural :)

Claire, I always say its good for daddy to have a baba that looks like him :) They can feel so left out of the whole process!

Rakker, I kinda know how you feel, my due dates have always been so in the middle of threads :) But trust you me, we will never ever get tired of the anticipation of a birth and a good story attached ;)

Tazzy, yeah one would think the movements gets less but it seems asif the babas just dont mind stretching your insides to the max hey ;) Try have a look when your gynae checkes the placenta, the white spots in there are the calcifying bits and those are not good. But I think you will have a good idea with your next appointment. FX that all is still going on track!

Emsmom, hehe.. Ive also said the same thing about my son, Hitler wouldve liked him :side: There was something I wanted to ask you about the hypnobirthing but now I cant remember.. will prob remember later tonight!

Cath, I feel the same about the scans sucking at the moment.. I wasnt even able to see a little face!!! boohoo!! Its just bits and pieces now and really the gynaes only worry about measurements and placenta from here on. I dont even have something to show hubby! Poor thing..

I really feel good after seeing my dr... it does make a difference to have all the confirmation of your gynae ;) She immediately tested my urine sample and there is no sign of infection or UTI. Although I dont have any more funny thigns going on today..

Little guy is weighing 2.5kg (snap Cath!) But he was so wrigly and had hiccups so she really battled to get all the measurements... so she ended up saying between 2.5 and 2.6kg. His growth curve has gone just under the line but she said maybe its just how he grows and Im totally not bothered about that at the moment.. they all grow differently! My son was 2.8kg at 36wks and he only ended up at 3.2kg.

Placenta and flow still looking great and also enough fluid. She was little worried about my BH/contractions yesterday so said she will do internal  But I was kinda expecting it. So she said after having one baby your cervix is never completely closed again so will always measure about 1cm open. She said Im 2cm !! I was a little bit shocked.. and she said she thinks I will prob not see 40wks.. she is guessing 38. She said yesterday's contractions prob did something. So Im kinda excited and kinda shocked.. I was really expecting to go overtime, but Im not setting my hopes on anything, lotsa ladies have walked 4wks with 2cm :) Im hoping that over time Ill dilate more so that by the time the real contractions set in and I need to go to hospital Ill be 4cm.. wishfull thinking? LOL

Emsmom I'm totally with you on this heat in CT! What a nightmare! I'm wearing shorts to the office today in spite of the fact that I had a Steering Committee meeting with many of our snr managers. I just couldn't bear the thought of long pants!

Lucky I wasn't nauseous again today, so let's hope it was a once off thing.

I would LOVE to do a CT meet before we all pop, so let's c what the other ladies say.

Cathm, show the pineapple? Did I miss something about pineapples? :)

PS Kaylae weird re the sudden interest from ex friend, maybe she has had a change of heart, but great attitude from you! You are right not to be concerned/fearful. Reminds me of one of my favourite bible verses: I can do all things through Christ who strengtheneth me. Just beautiful!
