Im still craving spit braai since you mentioned it...think will have to find one soon! or host one.

AFM: day from hell, lost car keys in mall, discovered when got to car, luckily found tehmat a shop I had gone to but by then my paid parking ticket had run out! THen in massive traffic jam on way home (sytraigth after the whole shop stress). Home tio find dustbin had blown over and not collected and crap everywhere I had to pick up...then unlocked front door and house full of feathers (luckily no dead bird was found - but cats looking very pleased with themselves)..Then DSTV was not working so on phone to them for a while!

But now feel relaxed...DH back tomorrow so looking forward to that. Oh yes picked up my discovery vitality baby bag today...am very happy with all the samples (but my word the maternity pads look massive!). There was no nuk bottle (which discovery told me was in the pack) and when I asked teh lady she said taht it has been replaced with the fleece blanket (suits me better as using Advent bottles anyway). ANd also got my hamper today from my magazine subscription to your baby (or pregannacy forget as subsribed to booth with free gifts). Its a whole baby sense hamper - burb clothes, nuture nest, feeding cloth and the baby sense feeding book! So guess my day turned out ok :)

Joli- We're not pre setting a C-sec date just going to take it 1 week at a time from now (Chris is the same) but basically 'full term' for twins will be xmas eve so anywhere between now and the new year for sure. I would really like to have a newborn shoot like those posed ones you do but I don't want to book anything until I know they're both well and healthy because the one baby is 2-3w smaller in growth than the other so can't say when they'll both be fit for something like a shoot so we'll just see after they're here where we stand and if you're fully booked already we'll just have to give it a miss.

I bet if you had heat packs like those you wouldn't have ended up with mastitis! Mastitis comes from infected milk ducts which can come from engorgement. My boobs were at times so hard and lumpy and I would just put the packs in boiling water for 2 min then stick them in my bra before feeding. It relieved the hardness and soreness and also made the milk flow fast which is nice for a 'lazy' baby because they can suck normally and get lots of milk rather than suck their cheeks blue LOL I would recommend it to any mom even if she only planned to feed for a few weeks. When I stopped BF I never took tablets to dry my milk I just used the heat packs when it became sore and inflamed and after 2 days I had no problems. And for R50 you really can't go wrong.

That's SO GOOD to know! Thank you! Where did you buy your nipple shields and what make?

Also, anyone know anything about expressing, I know I'm living far in the future but I'm going to have to do that when I go to work and would like to be prepared re what kind of breast pump is best??

Thanks! Not urgent!

Schatsie, so exciting!! I cant wait to see the photos! And your folks are so sweet!

Joli I used nipple sheilds with Em, She refused to latch for the first week but with the sheilds latched like a pro, I never had any pain, bleeding, cuts etc. Breastfeeding was bliss after that! I got the sheilds this time already so I've got them ready for LO. They are just more eaisier for baby to latch with. And protect your nipples. I only needed them for 4 months, after that Em was big enough to latch correctly herself.

Girls those gel breast packs - do you use them for engorged breast? And who has used nipple shields before? I see some mommies using them when they come for their newborn shoots - does it help? I must admit breasfeeding is not easy at all - the first couple of weeks were really bad for me. With Megan I got admitted to hospital when she was 5 weeks old as I got mastitis (sp) and the wanted to drain my boobies, but it luckily cleared with the antibiotics.

Vix - yes I will still do some shoots in January, especially newborns / maternity. I will however be away from 3 - 10 Jan and will be able to do shoots on 16, 22, 23, 29 & 30 Jan. Let me know and we can take it from there. Have you got a c-section date or are you just waiting it out to see how long they will stay in? Also curious on Chris.............and nope, not selling anymore. Was going to sell as things were just a bit crazy, mixed with preggy hormones and so on :-).

Meags and Joli GORGEOUS pics! I'm SO jealous that you are so far already and your pics so clear!!

AFM only 2 days to go to our wedding. Most of the stuff is organised now, DH2b is just still running around to find himself a shirt - the one he wanted was sold out when we got there today. I just didn't have the energy to go walking through a shopping centre with my pregnant belly and the stabbing pain when I walk too much so he dropped me off and went off on his own again.

My father was SO sweet: went to a nursery he knows and got me a LOT of flowers and brought his farm worker to plant them for me and generally tidy up the garden. And he's coming again tomorrow to bring some taller plants cause he says everything looks too flat. He really has an eye for these things and I'm SO lucky to have such a sweet, caring father!

My mom has also decided that she wants to help with something so she is making a vegetable soup and baking some fresh breads for s starter.

So everything is turning out nicely and I'm really looking forward to marrying my Prince Charming!
