Thanks Kimika

I think I'm just shocked as I have literally wanted to be pregnant since I was about 10 years old and am one of the broodiest people ever!! Now that I'm pregnant, I'm hardly broody, dont really find babies as cute as I did before and cant imagine myself holding, loving, feeding my baby! It's so weird?????

I actually just cant wait to get to Miami so we are settled and the stress is over.

As for the Joburg meet, a few girls from the newborn thread also want to have one. Deja said she can help organise goodie bags but cant make the meet. we suggested early January (week of the 10th) so that I can still come :p

I will create a thread and see who is interested!

Schatsie - that is so exciting you have your dress and shoes!!!!!!!!!!

Kimika, thanks for the list. I'm wondering now if we shouldn't change my date to the 22nd of April, because although my EDD is 29 April, my gynae said he would do the C section a week earlier. Not sure how you guys do it?

My fiancee and I went shopping on Sat for shoes for me for the wedding and after going through about 15 shops got to Truworths and saw the MOST beautiful dress! Luckily I had the first dress with me to match the shoes and exchanged it immediately for the new one. The new dress is teal and turqoise - my favourite colours! So much for him not seeing the dress before the wedding and I had to tell the wedding planner we now need to change the colour scheme, but I'm SO much happier with the new dress! The first one was grey with little flowers and I'm just not a flowery/frilly kind of person, so I was just not 100% happy with it, although I liked the idea of silver/grey as a colour scheme. The first dress was also rather tight and I was very worried that it might not fit in 2 weeks' time. :) The new one is tightfitting over my boobs (as all dresses are nowadays :)) but loosefitting below that, so it will not emphasize my bumps!

Then yesterday we started the hunt for shoes again and luckily found the perfect pair in about an hour. So now we are all set for the wedding as far as our clothes are concerned.

Wow the Capetown meet looks like fun :) We just have to have a Gauteng meet like that with prezzies and goodies!!! Meags, we need to organise one before you go away!

Anje, such true words about moms.. they can drive you crazy but I'd be totally lost without mine.. my son adores her too and she is really the only person I would leave my kids with! *hugs*

Mistymom, ahh enjoy the last couple of days with your sister!!! About the due date.. not many come on exaclty the due date.. but its really hard to know if baba will come before or after!! 2wks either way is possible. Thats the fun about going natural.. its a waiting game :) Although closer to the time your gynae can (with a horrid internal) give you *some* indication of whether things are progressing or not. I just KNOW my little guy wont come before his due date :) Ill be waiting him out however long he wants to take!

Karin, I heard somewhere that you can spray the carpet with a mixture of water and vanilla essence. Not sure if it works?

Kaylae, Im sure your baba will be fine!! Stress (unfortuanetely) is such a big part of preggie moms lives :( Just try and not work yourself up too much about stuff that really you have no control over.. my hubby always says that stressing doesnt change any of your circumstances, your actions does! Such true words and one really needs to try and stick to that way of thinking. Good luck and I hope you feel better. xxx

Meags, sorry you are feeling downer today too :( Why has the company not paid the rent yet? Shame I hope you get it sorted out.. living off of *no budget* is crap! I think your whole situation does make bonding with your little baba more difficult.. you have so much things going on with packing and immigrating, selling your house etc!! THats a BIG DEAL!! Normal people would have it hard coping with all that. Dont worry, you will over time bond a bit more and more and once baby is there he will just steal your WHOLE heart!! I must say that I felt the strongest bond with my son only after he was about 6months.. before that I loved him to bits but only after 6months did I feel like Im totally enjoying him to bits. It just doesnt always happen picture perfect for everyone! Its not a fairytale.. its life :) If you are feeling reallyyyyy down in the dumps then let me know and we meet for some coffee and cake somewhere!! :) xxx

morning ladies

well I still dont feel great today. I am so stressed about our financial situation. DH's company hasnt paid the rent this month (to me) and that is a big portion of what we live off!!
I keep emailing them and they just arent doing anything about it. I am going to ask my dad for a loan...I wont tell DH.
the problem is that DH has loads of money but it's in his french account and he hasnt set up his account for international transfer!!

Feel so down about the packing too. We have packed SO much (almost everything) but when I open the cupboards, it seems there is still so much left?!

Jessica hope you enjoy your scan today!

Faw - hope they manage to do the anomaly scan for you and glad you at least get to have a scan!!

Joli - I dont mind going out but when we agree on a time to leave, then I want to leave. honestly I dont really want to just sit alone at home over the weekend!

Karen - 2 days until you know if it's blue or pink!!!!! yippee!!!

EmsMom - shame man! Seems little Em gets sick so often :( Hope the gastro passes soon. how stressful for you!

Kaylae - I have cried a lot lately too. I feel like I am not bonding with this baby or enjoying the pregnancy as much as I thought I would. I mean, I am happy to be pregnant and excited. But I expected to talk to the baby more, be excited to buy things for him and I'm just not...and it feels weird people buying baby stuff for me

Anje - sorry about your mom xx we really should appreciate those in our lives while we still have them

hi girls...thank you to all those that posted the "healthy" snacks...adm going to try harder!!

Kimika - oooh I know the feeling. My situation is not as bad! Luckily my sister is going to be here a week before an d after my due date. Her sister in law is getting married so her a DH had already booked a trip to SA to be here for the wedding before i even knew i was preggies...anyway my mom and dad where going to fly up for the wedding (the day after my due date). When i found out i was pregnant I told them they must still go to the wedding (what are the chances I will give birth on my due date?) but they said no they want to stay in CT for the birth! It was there decision, not mine. ANyway now my sister is cross that they will not be there when her husbands sister gets married...family dramas!!! Sound slike you had a great day outside with your LB!!! Sweet man :) Cant wait to see your lovely worl once all finished!! Oh yes you can put my next scan down for 8 Dec and I will be trying Natrual!

Schatsie...sure your bump will appear soon...dont be fooled..its a camera angle...at times when i take photos i look like i have a big flabby tummy!!

Meags..so glad your kitties are sorted!! That relationship therapist sounds like a complete nut case!!! Very lucky you did not take DH along!!! Thank you for all the poop info....aah shame man I know how stressful packing is and to do it pregnant and tired cant be fun! Also know that feeling where everybody drinking and you are sober and its funny how everybody anoys you because they have had a few drinks!

AnjeD - wow how cool about the angle care!! That has saved you a bit! Got mine a bit cheaper at baby show but still cost R1100!! ooh you lucky lady...and the other stuff! :side: Yay that scan was good! ooh a DVD never had one only photos....going to book a 4d scan fro early next year with dvd!! SO true about moms....you never relesise how much you love somebody until they are gone!

Joli...yip i am forgetful....here is my secret story (not to leave these pages...)our neighbour is away so I was feeding his dogs last week...so the other night I am about to fal asleep and releised that i had not feed the dogs! I rushed across and when got their the water was empty!!!! I was in complete panic...frantically filled it up feeling like a murderer and so bad. When i put it down the one had a little drink and the other ignored it...so they must have just run out!!!

LucyW - you lucky you dont have a bump yet...at least your clothes still fit!!

Morning ladies. :)

Its Monday and its hectic again. :( ugh, wish it was holidays already.

Anje ~ so glad your scan went well! And Hooray for the increased movements!! :cheer: I love bath time because Kiana so obviously loves it, hehe.

Meags ~ Bloody hell... I would have walked out of that so called councelors office... can't believe she's so cold and unhelpfull, thats just a terrible experience.
Sorry about the fight with hubby too.... oh my, I think he doesn't really understand and support what your going through right now, unfortunately lots of men are like that and the don't care like we do.

Karen ~ Congrats on being 17 weeks already! Hope you'll get to see if it's going to be pink or blue on Wednesday!

EmsMom ~ Oh no, :S thats horrible for you all! So sorry that you had to get so sick, its so aweful having a tummy bug, I really hate it. May you get well real soon! Glad your sister's op went well and she's in the clear, that is great news. :)

A big HELLO to everyone else, sorry if I missed something, just can't get the porridge brain to work so well anymore. :side:

AFM: Doing real well. Kiana is getting really busy in my tummy now. :P Think she's having hickups lately... LOL, it feels like it.
Downside to her growing so much now is that my lower back is starting to feel it. I've injured my lower back as a child so I know I'm going to have lots of pain again in the last trimester, always do, but hoping it stays away a bit longer.
We have people here today to wash the loose carpets and the one that got spoiled with the bad smelling water from the freezer... bad news is that its not getting all out of that carpet... a smell like that stays put apparently for long, will have to wash the carpet a few times to try and make the smell less. :( Oh Im so furious everytime I think of it.

Anywho, have a lovely day all! Back to work now.
