Feb-May 2011 Mommies

Hi All

I survived my first day back at work thank goodness and am almost through my second one too. It is still SO lovely to see how everyone really appreciates having me back! From what I see and hear my temp did almost nothing most of the time, so my stuff is literally 3 months behind! So I have to spend a lot of time getting my reporting and systems back up. It is rather sad to think that anyone can get away with billing my department for all this time while doing nothing!! And also frustrating that I spent so much energy to give him a proper handover and then he just didn't bother to do the stuff he was supposed to!! Anyway, at least all my staff and vendors love me now, so it had some advantage for me.

It was sooooo nice to see my little son when I got home last night!! He did some proper BFing, so maybe he missed his mommy a bit. Tazzy my boobs weren't killing me too much - I started only feeding him during the day a while ago, so my body was already used to not BFing for about 8 hours at a time.

DH made dinner for us and I had a nice relaxing evening at home. He is also handling all night feeds seeing that he is not working at the moment. He started his own company doing handyman and building work, but unfortunately it is taking a while to get going, so he's not all that busy yet, so he might as well help out so that I can try and get decent sleep at night.

Missesmom, I am still planning on going to the meet on Sunday - just need to do the deposit ASAP, but have been sooo busy. When is the last day for payment?

Anje, my LG went for hers today. She is almost 11 weeks old, can't believe it. Weighed in at a healthy 5.7kg (minus at least 100g for the nappy...), and 58cm long. I also go to Wilgers.

Sorry for no personals. On work's 3G and supposed to do some work, LOL.

Oh and L went for her second set of jabs yesterday morning and in the afternoon she had streaks of blood in her poo, but it happened only once and not again after that. I spoke to the pead this morning and he wants me to bring her in tomorrow morning.

The clinic sister said measurements are perfectly average and she weighs 5.2 kg's and is 59 cm's in length. She said there is no need for a formula top up at this stage.

Missismom, how do you post a video clip? Sorry re the AF, hope you are feeling better by now. Wow, Kate is such a good weight, well done. Congrats, it sounds like the nanny is working out wonderful. Enjoy your coffee date, I do miss my coffee dates.

Ag shame Libra, don’t worry I am paranoid as well. How did the jabs go, L was also sick for the 6 week one and only got it at 8 weeks. She screamed a lot, but we had a wonderful clinic sister. Hope you will be well soon, try using viral guard for a few days, it helped me a lot and pead said it is ok.

Joli, wow, seems you have a typical boy, he is going to eat your cupboards empty.

Schatsie, it is definitely not easy to be back at work and really hard to express during the day.

Tazzy, great to hear from you. Wow, little A is growing well. Don’t worry, L is sleeping from 9-10 until 2am and then she is in bed under my arm as well and I am not too worried about it, it is just too cold to put her back on her own. Sometimes she does the 3 hour thing as well. I am sure she will be sleeping well soon.

It is sooooo cold today, my office is really cold and I did not bring enough milk for L so I will have to boob her in this cold office.

Tazzy nice to hear from you again! Glad to hear A is doing well, sorry about the not sleeping, but it wont last forever As long as baby and mommy are still happy

I've got Em at home today cause she was coughing the whole night, of course doesn't seem at all sick now, but have told her she is not allowed to leave my bed today! Have put on season 1 of the new My little Pony for her, and that should last her a while. And again I love having Abi, cause I dont even need to cancel my coffee date this morning cause she can watch Em as well

Oh, Im sure you guys have seen the Yoomi ad - go and check out my review. I would def reccomend it for moms!

I finally have my laptop up and running again. Not even going to try catch up on all posts , although i have been reading a few off my blackberry.

Schatsie - how was your first day back? i bet your boobs must be killing you!

Joli - that pic of the boys is so adorable. Im so jealous that you girls have meets. Wish i were closer. Its just Lucy and I down this side.

Amelia is doing well. I started feeding her some rice cereal on the weekend. she hardly needed a bib cos she ate everything, no spitting out. Im going to stay with rice cereal for another week then change to maize. ive been using nestum so ive been mixing it with EBM. she hasnt had any tummy complaints.
The little cherub weighs just over 7kgs now, and has rolls evrywhere!
We still not having the best nights sleep. She is still waking up every 3hrs during the night. And is still sleeping under my arm but it works for me so im happy

So how is everybody?

Libra, SO sorry to hear that you are not well. I really hope little miss doesn't get sick as well. Thankfully with you breastfeeding she will get your anti bodies.

Well it was the first proper day with Abi - our new nanny - here today, because Friday we were basically driving around with donors the whole day. And it went great, she already seems to love Kate to bits and is very good with her.
I must admit its lovely having it all, clean house, happy children, relaxed mom and getting all my work done!
