Morning all, how was your day yesterday?

So, last night I went out for the first time - without my LG - since she's born. We took the boys to watch the new Transformers in 3D and even though I enjoyed the movie I must admit I really missed my LG....I couldn't wait for the movie to finish. I don't even want to know how it's going to feel when I go back to work :(

It's amazing how your mindset changes once you become a parent. On our way to my parents house after dropping the kids off an owl flew in front of the car and perched on a sign post next to the road (my brother and sister was with us) and my first thought was that I wish my niece (my brothers 17month old LG) was with us as she loves animals - she gets super excited when there's monkeys in the garden. You start seeing everything with different eyes now, you actually wish those pesky monkeys would come and play in your garden.

Well Megan wants my full attention now so I have to go, but I hope you all have a fabulous day :)

Meags, really hope they can figure out what's up with Matt. It will really make your life much easier.

Libra, welcome to our group. Your LG is 6 days younger than mine.

Lucy, get better soon. And I hold thumbs that your LG doesn't catch it from you. Oop, see you caught it from her :P .

To all the other: Hi B).

AFM: Both kiddies in bed, so I can catch up on Moomies at last. Still enjoying my kids so much, even though they both can be a bit of a challenge at times. Busy potty training my son. Oh joy... Getting tired of washing his shoes after he had a "mishap". At least he is starting to just do his thing (if there is something to do) when I put him on the loo, so there is deffinitely progress. I never knew it could be so hard. Luckily the school does the potty training during the day. LG happy and healthy, so I'm also happy.

LB got a cold and we suspect the school gave the wrong dosis of his medicine yesterday as he was super sleepy and really not his lively self. Not sure how much they gave him, but it must have been at least double the dosis. He actually fell asleep in the car on our way home. He hasn't slept during that time in more than a year. And DH also told me he thinks they overdosed him, before I could tell him that I suspect that. I'm just glad he was his old self this morning. I didn't take it up with the school, but wrote a note that accompanied the medicine to caution them against that.

OK, off to sleep, or rather TV. I will have to start going to bed earlier so that I can be ready to go back to work in 3 weeks' time.

Cath i'll find out and let you know!

Libra, welcome! I am also a kzn mommy! Live in salt rock.

Missesmom, getting better thanks, just a tight chest left! I agree about the not complaining about the cold. The bump in feb and march is still too fresh in my mind! Ha ha

Meags , lovely to hear from you and that you are feeling better. Hope these doctors help more.
Does dh seriously think you told M to cry more with his mom. I mean .... Men can be so silly sometimes.

Well I have just found out I am going back to a new job. I am stunned. Been in my position for nearly 8 years. My dh is sulking so not even been able to talk about it. Meags like I said ....stupid men.

Thanks for the warm welcome :)

I live in Richards Bay, KZN. Even though R/bay is a warm place I'm getting really cold this winter, but it could also just be our house. It's sometimes warmer outside then inside.

Shame Meags, reflux is never nice. I really do hope they will be able to sort it out soon.

hi girls!

welcome Libra :) nice to have another mommy join. Where are you from?

well France is nice. I feel so torn between trying to please everyone though. My mom constantly wants the baby, my MIL feels like she cant soothe the baby and my brother always wants the baby too. Luckily the SIL's are not around too much as they also always want him...one will be back on thursday though and the whole day is dedicated to her family as they live far and have only seen him 1 day so far....
DH is upset that my mom is always taking the baby...but his mom is not confident with him when he cries and she always wants to bring him to me and then my mom takes him...I dont know what to do!!! Matt cries every single time MIL takes him!!!! I try giving him to her after he has slept and fed but he still cries....doesnt always cry with my mom but when he does, my mom doesnt panic...just walks around with him and he quietens...when MIL walks with him he is still hysterical. I feel so sorry for her but I dont know what to do! I think DH is upset by it...he seems a bit angry with me.

Matt seems jetlagged. I'm trying to keep up his routine but its not going so well. atleast he is sleeping until like 9am each morning but 6pm he wants to sleep, wakes around 8pm - awake for a while. oh well....what can I do....

so nice having my family here but DH always says we dont have to see them all the time. his mom invited them for dinner and he told his mom no!!! but she had already told me to invite them so it was too late. DH thinks my mom is too intense with the baby...but she wont see him again until Christmas so i dont blame her

matt saw the paed here yesterday. everyone says he looks healthy. so i explain I force feed him as he still wont take more than 30-60ml every 4 hours. They are doing the allergy test. so far it is showing up positive. and he's developing a rash. but I have to remove the stickers tomorrow then we only see the paed the following day. so things can still change.
im really tired of force feeding....had to syringe feed him on the boat today at 5pm as the whole day he only had 120ml since yesterday....its so frustrating....then he vomitted anyway even though he wasnt crying at all or anything...he was enjoying being syringe fed!! lazy child....
his reflux is really bad. even though we increased his meds by 3 times, he is vomitting more now and still wont drink. the paed here gave us some sort of oral gel to use for the reflux so we'll see if it helps.
the only thing she said is that he is exceptionally active and moves a lot more than normal. perhaps have an ADD child on our hands. wouldnt surprise me. he really is insanely busy and doesnt ever stop moving even when sleeping!!

i am fine...feel so much better on the anti depressants. really loving matt so so much even when he wont feed.
ok he's crying so gotta go. will try catch up more often!

Hey Libra! Welcome to Moomie! And to our little group :)
I'm sure in the coming months and years we will all be relying on each other very much as our LO change and develop!
Its wonderful that your step children are so happy and in love.

My eldest has also ordered another baby, but I've told her the factory is closed ;)
She said "But then Kate wont have a baby sister" and I told her Kate can have a puppy ;)

Cath, I never even took Kate for her 6w pead check up, cause I mean she was going to the clinic every week in anycase, and I'm lucky that I've got a friend who is a Pead and told me that if there was anything wrong Kate would not be feeding or growing as well.

Lucy I'm sorry to hear you are getting worse, I hope T doesn't catch it.

So chilly here today, but I promised myself I would never complain about the cold again when I was PG in that heat! So I wont. Kate fast asleep next to me on the couch now. She is too cute! 3 months old today.

Hi mommies, I'm fairly new to this site and have never posted anything. I joined shortly before my girlie was born as I love reading birth stories and thought it would be good to read up on some birth stories to prepare myself for it - I don't think anything can truly prepare you for it.

My little angel was born on 26 April and I was blessed with a beautiful, happy (most of the time) little girl. I just love being a mommy. I also have two stepsons aged 12 and 9 (DH is 11 years older than me) and I am happy to say that they love their little sister - especially the eldest. He has already ordered another brother or sister but we have told him that he must go ask his mother. They live with their mom and we usually get them every second weekend (or when it suits her)

I would love to join your little group of mommies as it would be great to share advice and just to have someone to talk to. I really still have a lot to learn from mommyhood.

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your day :)
