Morning ladies. Just a quick update today :-). Went to see Dr. Mia yesterday. He really is as good and sweet as what everyone says. He was running VERY late, but anyways, I think he spent about 1/2 on the scan, checking and explaining every single little thing in so much detail. I think he counted each bone Baby B's body! Well he says we've got a nice big, healthy baby and he could see the sex, but hubby told him that I don't wanna know, but that he could always tell him afterwards and I said NO! So our sweet Dr. said that he would give hubby a clue so he scanned a bit over the area, paused it and told hubby there's your clue, but off course hubby could not see anything. Hubby says he could see every single body part and then when he really wanted to see something, he couldn't make out nothing  ! But I think I saw boy parts ;) . Baby is measuring 18 weeks (I'm 17 weeks) so hope he does not grow too big. He also checked my cervix (via scan) and said that it's very closed and that I would definately carry till the last week, no discount for me. Told me to go for 2 more scans with Maryka, see the midwife and to come see him again at 36 weeks for clearance :) . Baby is weighing in at 210g, heartbeat of 142bpm, forgot to ask the length. The pics he gave me are not very clear and nice like Maryka's so not worth posting them, but at least I know all is fine. I'm actually even starting to get a bit excited!

And then I met Meags yesterday as well. Was nice meeting her and she kept me company while I waited and waited. She looks very sweet - angel face - hope for her part that they get a girl with her looks ;) .

Fawhaway - sorry to hear about all your troubles. Keep prayer and believing and I truly hope things work out for you.

Jessica - hope that your son gets better soon. It's not nice when they are sick like that and no bosses are never nice about this!

Kimika - are you feeling better. What is hubby not listening to huh?

Lucy - STILL did not tell the boss! But he's away and will be back tomorrow so then it will be.

Oh ya wanted to add - I didn't have to pay Dr. Mia cash - all went through the medical aid. How cool is that? And then he signed my PMB forms which I will submit today.

What do you girls think of the name Reagan? My husband's choice for a boy?

hi ladies

Just wanted to pop in and say a big hello to all my preggie friends.

I'm at home at the moment as my son is not well, he has outer & middle ear infection & sinusitus and is on another course of anti-biotics & cortizone (for 5 days). So I've gotten a note from the doctor to stay at home with him for 3 days until he's completely over it. No use sending him to school like this cause he'll never get better completely. Just hope the boss doesn't act like a prick about this, its very easy to say "yeah but its always something" when you're divorced & only your one kid stays with you hey!

I really hope we get to see some scan piccies tomorrow..

Ok just wanna do a small rant.. my hubby can seriously sometimes push my hormones to the max!! He is such a mister know it all!! grrrr.. he can sometimes just disregard my opinion on things! I mean why do people ask for your info if they dont even bother processing it??!!

Ok now I feel slightly better..

Faw, what about your grant?

Lucy, I need to get Dh to scan it first, and he forgot to take it to work today. So hopefully tomorrow.

Ya, it is also the heat, I never eat alot when its too hot. I tend to live on ice-lollies :)
Cool about the nappies, I know my mom will also get for me. I just dont like leaving things to the last min and sadly my mom leaves it till after the last min... I also like the Cherub tree ones! Will get a few duki ones cause baby can also swim in those.
The ad was for fruit and veg city. I do a lot of ads for them.

Faw - There has got to be something else!! What about that grant?

Ems - Do we get to see pics of your scan? I hope your appetite comes back soon, perhaps it is just left over from your bug! Take care. I am saving for a couple of months and buying like a 6 pack of nappies and then my aunt has also said she'll by me a couple for my shower. I am going to try and copy and make my own too. Cherub tree really tickles my fancy!!
What was the ad for?

MommyJess - All my bllods so far incl downs have been about R850. Birth (gynae fees only) about R6500 and monthly visits incl scans range from R360 - RR810. I have also decided to start getting everything ready for LO asap. So I have more money closer to birth and am not worrying when hot and huge!

Joli - The boss?!!! Woo hoo on the kick

Kimika - Modern fitted nappies are less bulky than the traditional fold nappies. But bulkier than disposables, I imagine it will be whatever the baba is used to.
The initial outlay does seem to be a bit but it does save a lot in the long run.
I guess it is all personal preference ..... like just about every aspect of having a baba is. Decisions decisions!! Hee hee
