Mommy-jess firstly to upload a picture I use www.tinypic.com Go to upload images or videos. Just click browse and select the file from your pc. Then the only other thing you need to change is the resize, from their list choose forum size and click upload. Put in that irritating code. Then when you get the codes choose the one for forums and message boards copy and paste in your post. easy :)

Ok about all the other goodies.. your gynae shouldve sent you by now for the normal bloodtests.. I think there are 4 or 5? The normal hcg, rubella, iron, hiv and the other I cant remember. The total for all those for me was about R800 that my medical aid paid.

Next thing is the 12wk downs scan and bloods. Your gynae can do it or send you to a specialist. Not sure on the cost for that, my gynae did mine and just charged me normal consult and scan fee of R500 in total. The bloods she sent me for were R450 or something.

Most medical aids pays your gynae consultations plus 2 2d scans. The rest of the scans you pay out of pocket. So yours would be normal.

The birth I remember the gynae's charges for normal birth was R4000, the c-sec was not that much more, I think it was R6000. The epidural was not much either.. I think not more than R2000. The rest was just hospital bill and totalled along with gynae and epi up to R14000 I think.. really cant remember!

What else are you worried about??

Kaylae, sorry for confusing you.. maybe it was 160g? Last time gynae said they dont really do the weight measurement now, its more the lenght measurement they do. So she said a baby of 12wks should normally be about 140g.

Joli, I also wondered about the bulkiness between the legs!! Already the huggies nappies are too bulky for my little skinny man :) Last time I used them they pinched him blue.. But I guess they are softer.. just the waterproof thats a bit harder.

Mommy-jess, sounds asif you had great fun at your scan :) so cute to see the baby wriggling and being active! Fantastic!!

Hi me again.

I see the photo's did not upload...if anyone wants to see them, send me a mail and I'll send them Gladly....lol

Mom's - after all the excitement and happy tears, I have realised that I need to start getting my ducks in a row about the Birth and all the other blood tests that are going to be done.
I do not want to miss anything.

So I was wondering if your could help me, again?

I need to know what questions to ask to my gynea and medical aid.

as most of you know this is a very unplanned pregnancy...( worth it though) so just about everything is very new to me. My medical aid will only pay for the Gynea visits, 2 2d scans and only R16500.00 for the Birth. the rest comes out my poket!

I know this is probably Boring topic, but I'm starting to get a little scared....

Even if you could refer me to a site(s) where I can get my worries settled.

Thanks, I really dono what I would do with out you guy's.....

Good Morning all!!!

Wow The scan was AWESOME this morning. Baby was very active! :cheer: :cheer: :cheer:

Saw baby open and close his/her hand and move arms around and wiggle fingers, and the legs were all over the place....lol

Heart beat is 146 and everything that needs to be there is there.
Dr said baby is swallowing well too!

Next scan is at 16 weeks on the 3rd of November at 07.45. I make sure all my oppointments are early cause of the boss....
I have tried to attach the scans, but if it does not come up, please someone explaine to me how to do it... cause clearly I'm doing it wrong!

Ok gals have a Supamakadovies day!!!! lol

Kimika - I also look at cloth nappies but the initial cost really is too high for me as well. I wished I bought them when I had Megan then it would have been fine, but I really don't think it's worth it for me as this is my last baby. I've found this website -

www.bumbeetles.com/About_nappies.html

Nappies are R85 each, but I'm not sure of the quality. I can't see anyone in the cloth diaper thread using them. I thought of maybe buying about 3 nappies and to use a combination. Another thing that bothers me is the bulkiness of the nappy between the legs.

Oh Kimika now you left me confused,I thought he said 690g

I have googled and it says there is really nothing to worry about because as the baby grows it moves up and if it doesn't move up it only results in C-Section which I know it will move up so I am not worried.

My next scan is 2 November @ 17 weeks
