Lucy, how is Tessa doing with the feeding now? Remember R went throught the same feeding thing. I kept saying he cant have growthspurts lasting a week at a time every 2 weeks I noticed on some days for some reason he wants to cluster feed all teh time. So I try keep him on feeds where he gets a full big feed so he can stretch for longer, but you will soon see if she will be happy with that or not. Ag the pics are so cute, she is sitting up perfectly!

Meags, wowie your little boy is soo good looking I just love that pic where he is sleeping on his arms with the white and blue beanie! Flip I cant believe that the LLL lady never contacted you again?? Surely she should have picked up on the urgency to see you asap?? So much for her..

Ag man that smile is toooo precious! I mean how wide was that toothless one? eish.. the other video.. really friend, Im giving you the gold medal for being the most patient persisting mom, I would given up on that and I actually like to pat myself on the back for being persitant when it comes to bfeeding. Its just too frustrating what your going through. And I get the rejection bit.. I felt that when my son weened himself at 6months so its really hard for you to go through this with your newborn. Your bf experience could be a part of you feeling a bit of PND. I think once you put it all behind you and Matt gets settled into his feeding and sleeping and calms a bit you will feel better too. He is really sweet inbetween though

Newyum, congrats on the birth of your baba!!! I cant believe the dr never pick up that your baby was breech? Silly dr! Sorry that you didnt gegt your natural birth but atleast you got to experience some real labor pains etc. Great that you little boy latched well and is nursing good.

Schatsie, If you have some milk to spare it would be great to express and freeze. If you introduce bottle its good to do at about 8wks, dont do all the feeds from bottle, jsut do nw and then. I found that with my first boy he eventually started preferring the bottle and ended up weening before mom was ready But if you wait tooo long then they battle to take the bottle.

Joli, did I miss that you are going to do your photos fulltime now??

AFM: He is doing great, did a quick weigh on the bathroom scale and he is just over 5kg now. He has been doing very good at night, drinks and then sleeps well. Each night goes to bed at about 7 or so and then only wakes up at about 12:30. So Im happy with that. I havent given him formula for 2wks now so no more constipation. He poos now every 3rd day or so, so atleast I know that its normal for him. He has started to *talk* making all kinds of cute gurgling and cooing sounds.

Shame my other boy had a bit of gastro so Ive been really busy keeping both my babies happy.. its so horrible when they are sick!!!

Kimika Yippee you're back. Sorry about charges but I am glad you had a relaxing time.

Emsmom sounds like you were very busy but managed to be super mom. Well done and I hope Em feels better soon. We have used a dummy but she is not very fond me it and never lasts more than 5min!

Schatsie the midwife who has been helping me believes that unless there are issues like baby is losing weight etc. She thinks that you should not express for 6 weeks as that is how long it takes to establish your milk and breast feeding. Then from 6 weeks she says you express after every day time feed and keep in fridge until you have 100ml then freeze. When I am due to in back to work she is going to help me train my boobies to do only a morning and evening feed. So this is one opinion, I am very curious to see what others say too as I have wondered the same as you.

Meags what you explained sounds like a wonderful and gentle way to do sleep training and def the best option with the heat - we are currently in a cold snap 3 degrees tomorrow in joburg, it's quite nice though being snug inside!

Schatsie hope it passes the crying can be terribly disturbing esp if not used to it. I dont have experience re ebm and breast but for the short time I did it he ALWAYS went for the boob when he got the choice so I don't think you need to owrry that the bottle will change that I may be wrong.

Meags you have a clever little boy there I got tears in my eyes at the crying clip but the other one with the bug was sooo heartwarming he is lovely!!!

I took W out on my own today with the pram dh and i learnt how to collapse it put it in car etc worked wonderfully! W LOVED the mall and being pushed around lol it felt very free-ing to acutally go shoppnig with him!

hello girls.. sorry Ive been completely mia for over a week!!! grrrr My laptop charger finally totally gave in while we were away for the long weekend.. so all my relaxing time I had absolutely no pc Ive got tons of pages to catch up, so Im not promising anything And Ive missed some births? Gosh, I just realised I haven't done a post today and I really have no idea what exactly I've been doing all day. Time really seems to be passing so quickly with baby around!

He is being really difficult tonight, crying a lot and not settling for the last 3 hours, so I kinda feel like I have an inkling of what Meags must go through all the time. Also he's been feeding so much that my boobs actually are totally empty now, so this must be what Lucy feels like. I'm very close to trying the dummy on him! Lucky DH has the world of patience and dropped everything to spend time with him.

Betty I agree, some people are odd about BF so I try to be considerate and go to my room to feed when we have guests, although strangely I wouldn't really mind that much feeding in front of others. I always thought I would be more shy, but if my LB needs to eat nothing else seems important.
Are you really the last person on our thread to have your baby?

I'm getting a breast pump from my friend on Sat and want to start giving him EBM. I'm just worried that he might get too attached to the bottle and then won't want to BF anymore. Does anyone have any thoughts/experience on this or am I the only one who's doing BF exclusively? Are you all expressing and switching between bottle and boob without any problems?

I can't focus with my poor child screaming like this. Will try and do personals tomorrow.

Betty, I hate the fact you are made to feel uncomfortable to feed in public, or even in your own home! I actually couldn't care anymore and will feed my children wherever. If I'm in public then I cover up with a blanket, but in my own home, well if you dont like dont look.
I really hope that your angel arrives soon - didn't you say you would have a c-section if not here by a certain date?

AFM, well a day at home with both the girls alone today. Bit difficult to keep Em and Kate in seperate rooms and keep them both happy. So basically when Kate is sleeping I'm with Em and then when Em was sleeping, I was working. So for the first time since Kate was born I didn't manage to shower till DH got home. I did manage to get both the girls bathed and clean the house though, so I'm not too embarased by not showering
Tomorrow DH and I are going to the movies, and I'm looking forward to us time

Betty are you the last lady standing? Shoo so your baby will be the baby of the group, ha ha. You'll have to start some of Meags tricks!

Joli that is such a happy pic me you and C. He really looks like he has filled out. Good like with the resignation, never easy or nice.

Well Tessa slept over 6 hours the night before but then proceeded to suckle for 11 straight hours. Finished! Had another chiro appointment and he thinks she'll be fine by sunday. Yippee. We had another weigh in and my milk monster has gained another 300g. She is now 4.1kgs!
