Take chewing gum with you - this will help your tummy get regular again. - Also if you can for your entire pregnancy great, but start when you can - BenWah balls! I used them and my tummy was flat again within 3 days of birth! They tighten tummy muscles and vaginal muscles (so you don't pee when you cough etc.) and strengthen your lower back muscles.

for some people the milk just does take longer to come in.

the thing with baby refusing boob after a bottle is this, if you think she is refusing the boob don't just give in to bottle because when she's hungry enough she'll drink from the boob. Always squeeze around the nipple before getting baby to latch, just express ever such a small amount, don't wipe it off, it'll help baby to latch because she'll instantly get the whiff of food!

Lol Vix!

I used the slimming pants at 6 weeks just because I was not sure whether I could apply to much pressure on the wound before 6 weeks. Got the all clear from gynae and they worked really well.

RM - When K got top up feeds in hospital thats when my worries started with regards to breastfeeding. My milk took about 5 days to come in so K had to be given a bottle. She latched perfectly for 2 days and nurse decided that she needed a top up on 3rd day as she was losing weight so when I tried breastfeeding after that, she just screamed blue murder! Then that made me stress even more hence the low milk supply.

I think next time, I will do the jungle juice from a month before I have the csec.

Nayeela- those tummy tuckers might actually be great from day 2, if everything is held in tightly it might be more comfortable for day to day getting around and in and out of bed.

oh that reminds me, if you have an extra high bed at home be prepared to not sleep in it straight away LOL when i got home i realised i couldn't get up into my bed because it was very high so i slept in babies room on the regular height single bed for 3 weeks until i felt comfortable climbing in and out of mine!

bugger, i had another one now and i completely forgot.....

jungle juice for sure! but for while you're in hospital make sure you have some Blackthorn berry elixir, it'll up your energy and your milk production.

be aware that it may take up to 3 full days for you milk to come in properly, colostrum is fine for a few days, but if you don't mind then let the hospital give top up feeds to baby. some people say baby refuses boob after but that's rubbish, if baby can sleep in the nursery and be well fed you will get better rest and that will also help milk production as well as drinking lots and lots of water.

stress can hinder milk production too so if you know baby isn't hungry because he's had top ups then you can relax and allow baby to suckle for comfort and thirst until your milk comes in.
