Hallo Ladies,

Hope you are all very well.
I am completely new to this forum and website.

My story: I am 35 years old, and hubby is 36. We already have a boy aged 3 years. We have been TTC for almost 2 years now without any success.

When I fell pregnant with my son, the gynae discovered a fibroid in my uterus, and I had to take medication and look really good after myself to prevent early birth or miscarriage. God was good to us and my son was born with a ceasarian at full term. However, the gynae then said I must remove the fibroids before we attempt to get pregnant again.
I have done this operation (which is as good as a ceasarian, just you return home empty handed) almost two years ago.

I have just started my second round of Fertomid today (1st round was from August - October 2014). I am really hoping this time it will work out for us.

A year ago my father in law committed suicide and I was wondering whether the shock of his death could have caused any of this...maybe some of my DH's sperms died forever or something weird.... Maybe I am just looking for something or someone to blame.

Anyway, we have not done any sperm tests or so yet, we already have a child so it should not be so difficult...or atleast that is what I thought.

It is heartbreaking reading all the sad stories and realising just how many people are struggling to conceive.
I hold thumbs for everyone.

Hi Anzel,

I had the bloodwork done the end of January and the GP said that my Progesterone levels were good, they were at 18.2 on CD28.

I had an appointment with my Gynae on Tuesday on CD13 and he read my results and said that my levels were low and to him it looked like I didn't ovulate that cycle. He then did a scan to check my ovaries and follicles and I only have one very small one, which he says it was from a old cycle as it was way to small (old) :(

So I have probably not been ovulating for the last couple of cycles and he has put me on Fertomid which I have to start on my next cycle which is in +- 3 weeks time.

Ooh 7DPO, how exciting and you probably can't wait to test. I do believe God has plans for us and we just need to be patient, its hard I know. I have read that Fertomid makes you tired, hungry and pregnancy bbs and nausea, so like you are doing I am also just going to say its the pills until we get our BFP

I bought the Sperm-I-Prove at Clicks for R118 for 60 pills and he only needs to take one a day. You can also get them at Dischem and I guess that they will be the same price.

The gynae said to me that 80% of women conceive on the second round of Fetomid as it takes the body a cycle to get used to the medication. So if we do not get our BFP on the first round we should not give up hope and remain positive.

@Jay-bee - I also hate the idea of false pregnancy symptoms. I have extremely sore and tender boobies and my nipples feel itchy the whole time. I remain ravenously hungry and by 8:00 at night, I can hardly keep my eyes open. I need to take a nap every afternoon, otherwise I'll never see 7o clock!!

Any progesterone level above 15 on meds is a good sign of ovulation. It should be above 30, apparently, but anything above 15 is good. Mine was 22 at CD 21, which shows that I did indeed ovulate. Anything below 10 is a sign of annovulation. It is a good idea to have your follies check, if you have the cash flow. I didn't go - Partly because of finances and partly because I'm trusting God for a miracle.

In Upington we are well equipped with air conditioners, water coolers and pools, so I'm sure I'll be fine, if I refrain from going outside! :woohoo:

I'm currently on CD 19, about 7dpo today. I'm not paying particular attention to symptoms yet - I always tell myself that it is the meds that makes me feel that. Also, I don't want to get my hopes up and be disappointing again.

Was wondering, where did you get sperm-a-prove?? Is it expensive?? Would like to get some for my hubby. We tried Staminogro this month - Still waiting to see if anything good happened.

Dear Morgan

What a heartbreaking time you are going through. I know you don't want to hear this right now, that your heart aches and that you feel like your whole world is ending. But take heart, my dear. There is a reason for everything. God has a plan. You might not see it now or understand His purpose, yet His plans for you and hubby is good. I pray that He will comfort you and strengthen you again for the journey ahead. Don't give up. Don't give up. Don't give up. You are on the brink of a miracle! I believe it with all my heart. We are here to support each other through this difficult time of TTC. And you've always been there for us. Find comfort in knowing that there is a lot of us behind you, who know exactly how you feel and who really understands your pain.

I'm preaching to myself as well, you know. We do get times in our lives when we feel discouraged, like we've had enough and are ready to give up. Then we take the time to sulk and cry and be mad at everything and everyone. And then we get over it, pick ourselves up and try again. Sometimes God is testing our faith - I know... I hate to wait too and I hate to question why not me? But I have made peace with God's will and not mine. And I'm waiting for Him to provide.

Be strong, girl. We are all here for you. We care and we will pray with you for comfort during this time. And for your hubby as well. He feels this just as much as you do...
