I could try for a second opinion I guess but I need to stick with that gynae for pg becuase he knows my history and what is needed to keep me pg. It's also usually quite hard getting in with a new gynae as their waiting lists are often long for new patients. I wonder if gp's could request that kind of blood work though?
Still not sure I want to go the clomid route though so maybe i'll wait another 2 months on vitex and see what happens. If still nothing by June/July then maybe i'll request blood work.
IT was kind of weird because he started the session saying any imbalance between oestrogen and progesterone would cause a wonky cycles. Then I said my cycles were wonky and showed him. Then he said no, they look fine, there's no imbalance, but I could try clomid. I asked if he couldn't rather do blood tests first to make sure, as I didn't want to mess things up, and he said no, it's hard to tell becuase hormone levels change daily so really hard to pinpoint anything. (yet I know loads of people that have cd 3 and cd 21 blood tests for hormone levels). And THEN he went on to say that if the clomid doens't work after 3 months then he would order bloodwork to see what was going on. So that just totally contraindicated what he said earlier. It was rather weird.
But I think I'll wait a bit longer and if still nothing and if I want to keep trying then I'll maybe request the bloodwork before trying the clomid or anything else. If I insist enough i'm sure he'll comply. For the most part I'm very happy with him so not overly keen on trying someone else. But I also don't really want to wait too much longer for another baby. I feel like a 5 year age gap is just so big. I really wanted the 2 kids to play together
