Trying for a 2016 baby

@ Liza. Just popped in quickly and saw your post. I have just finished my first cycle of Fertomid 50mg a week ago. Did the gyna not tell you what days to take it on? Normally they check your cycle lengths and AF days and then prescribe one pill a a day for 5 days. For me it was on CD4 to CD8 but AnzelMama was prescribed on CD5-CD10 I think or maybe sooner.

My cycles vary from 29-34 days and AF lasts for 4 days. I had to take my first pill on CD4 to CD8, one pill every day at the same time each day. I suggest you take it in the evenings so you can sleep off some of the symptoms.

As for ovulation they say that one will ovulate 5-10 days after taking the last pill but it could be a few days after depending on your body as everyone is different.

Yes I know it is so confusing but please ask your gyna on what days you should take it as the pharmacist does not know your history or test results.

Yes they are extremely expensive and can burn a whole in your pocket. I bought the clearblue previously and liked the way they worked. The digital ones. But they are expensive. So last month I tried the clicks brand. R 68 for 4 - which is better, but I did not get a positive, and also struggled to read them properly with the lines. But I think I will try them again this month. But I surely wont be able to test more than once a day. I will also try the temp charting, just to back it up and see what sort of pattern there is, but it is so much!

I did not use opks. They're so ruddy expensive! It's usually close to R100 for like 5 I think, and ideally you should do 2-3 a day to get an accurate reading. Using only 1 a day you could actually miss it completely.
I'm almost certain I won't be trying next month though, so maybe I should buy 1 pack this payday, and another pack next payday and then i can use them for the month after...

@Mrs Smith - Thats the thing, one does not know, and that is so confusing.
Did you use any OPK's?

I used some but could not get a clear reading, and think I stopped too early.My last OPK was done on CD17 and I did not bother to test any further, because OV is supposed to happen on CD14. So I also got it all wrong...

Just did some more calcultations - the day I thought I ov'd based on how I was feeling was CD 18, which would mean a 9 day luteal phase. But if I actually ov'd on CD 14, then it's a good 13 day lp. I had a horrid unshakable headache that started on the afternoon of CD 14 and lasted that whole weekend. I wonder if it wasn't maybe an ov headache? Maybe that was the symptom I should have been looking out for. Did absolutely nothing for our baby making plans though as I felt so awful. But if that is the case then it means vitex shifted ov earlier and actually gave me a perfect cycle. We did bd the morning before that so should technically still have been ok, but didn't do anything that day or the 2 days thereafter. It's all so confusing.

Thanks Ninies. I'm in CT so definitely not the same gynae LoL. Glad to hear someone else's gynae followed a similar idea plan though.
