I have actually decided to stop taking my pill last week. So I dont think we'll "actively" try just yet, but if it happens, it happens. I want to get pregant this year if possible, so that the age gap is not too big. A friend of mine on Facebook's baby is now 8 months old and she is already 2 months pregnant again, yikes! Haha.

The next paed checkup is at 9 months - at least that's how it is with our paed.

Welcome IreneL, we've actually also been blessed with an easy baby. She's been sleeping through the night since birth, she eats easily, she's always super happy and is way ahead with her milestones. So I've also been saying number 2 will be the opposite :)

When are you wanting to try for number 2? We were also blessed to fall pregnant immidiately, but now I wonder will it be the same with number 2 or not? I've heard of people struggling to fall pregnant with the second baby. Do you plan for when you are ready for baby number 2 start before you are ready?

Your day sounds hectic, it sounds like you have lots to worry about. I find that working full time and then going home to worry about the house, laundry, dinner and baby gets overwhelming at times. Then you are so busy doing these things that you can't really spend quality time with baby :( How will it be with 2 babies?

If you had a rhesus problem with your first pregnancy it will be the same with the second pregnancy, it has to do with you and your partner's blood combination.

I have a question, when does baby go for another paed checkup? The last time was at 6 months.

Hi everyone :) I am also considering trying for baby number 2 this year.

My baby is 9 and a half months old now. I had a wonderful pregnancy with her and she is a super easy baby so I would love another one (although everyone teases me that the second baby will be the difficult one!).

My concerns are mostly related to my circumstances re my work. I have to rush baby to school in the mornings and have to try and rush back in awful traffic to try and get to her in time every day. Basically I spend at least 3 hours in traffic each day. I also have to work late once or twice a week. It is very stressful and gives me a lot of anxiety to have to juggle that and wanting to be with baby. Unfortunately being a stay at home mom is not an option for me, although I would have loved it.

So that is my biggest issue, also the financial aspect - creche is expensive! Nappies and milk is fine for now, but I think having to buy for two will be a bit of a challenge. Although I think by the time number 2 arrives, baby number 1 will be off of formula milk at least.

And then just the fact that baby number 1's blood was not compatible with mine (that Rhesus negative thing...) so Im not sure if that is something that will be an issue with a second pregancy. I did have all the injections in that regard during my pregnancy and after baby was born, but other than that Im a bit clueless on this.

Oh and then on the timing, Im not really sure. I fell pregnant easily the first time, but I know it's really just a case of luck, so one is never really sure how long it will take.

I breastfed for 2 months then found out daughter wasn't gaining weight as she was working to hard to get milk. She has a tongue tie so she didn't latch that well. I extracted breastmilk and bottle fed, she picked up 500g in one week. I just couldn't keep up with pumping so dried up eventually. I agree with you Ilse, I felt a sense of relief when I stopped breastfeeding, didn't feel as pressured and stressed. I would sometimes breastfeed for hours. Once for 6 hours straight. Had a sense of normalcy when I stopped.

My daughter was born at 38 weeks via c-section as my placenta started to calcify.

@Ilse it sounds like you had a tough one!

I agree - well done on bf so long. I breastfed for 5.5 months, then my milk dissapeared and I was never able to express. But I must say, I really don't miss it, it was fine while it lasted.

I had extreme morning sickness until about 18 weeks, and extreme fatique straight through, I developed pregnancy induced high blood pressure from about 19 weeks with extremely swollen legs and feet, I landed in hospital twice, I had constant UTI and she was born at 36w2d. (via emergency c-sec).

@bellyhearts thank you! I'm a stay at home mom so that has made things easier on the breastfeeding front

My first pregnancycle was quite easy, the worst I had was the extreme fatigue in fits trimester. But yes, with me not working the money story worries me as well.

Did you ladies have natural or c section?
