I dont think it is a problem to leave baby with a nanny once in a while so you can have some time for yourselves, but if you go to Miami or Vegas, do you think it would be once in a while? It wouldn't be for me. Those are party places...

Another thing is you have to think of medical, injections and all that, you would have to organise trips around baby's injections, if baby gets sick, can it manage an 14/20hr flight, will you know where to find the next emergency room if baby isn't doing well? There are all those things that you will have to think about.

My sister and bil hardly go anywhere without their children and I keep telling them to leave the girls with me so they can have a breath of fresh air and enjoy their time together again, but they love their family too much and it doesn't suit them to leave their kids with everyone so they can carry on.

I think you know what you want to do and want it with your whole heart, but a bit scared in case you have to give up (or not do as much) whatever you can just do.

Being able to travel is really a great opportunity that MANY families cannot do nowadays.

Its not impossible to have a baby while travelling, but it will change everything and its just things we putting across to you that you are aware of these othe rthings.

going out occasionally is good for new parents. sorry the way you asked about a travelling nanny i thought you were talking like always going out and basically having someone else raise your child.

Travel first babies later in my opinion.

I had a great job flying overseas all year round and BAM 2 lines.

I haven't flown anywhere since for a few reasons:

1. money, no matter how much money you have you will always find a way to spend every last cent on your child

2. tiredness!

3. impractical, i am a travel light kinda mommy but seriously, no kid travels light.

4. i won't enjoy the traveling and different countries half as much with children on my hip!

DH and I are huge outdoors people and we just love the bush and sight seeing but we have decided it's not compatible with small kids. Once they are a bit bigger we can all enjoy travelling holidays together but I can't enjoy myself fully when my child is screaming in the backseat because he's bored, tired, hungry, pooped.

Being a ,mother doesn't mean the end of your fun life, it just might get put on hold for a little while.

If you have the opportunity to travel now then just leave the babies for a bit longer. DH and I adore our LB but we still say even at 38 & 27 we had kids too early in our relationship, we should've done so much more with our lives first. we will do everything we want to but it will just have to wait a while.

I must agree with Chris, i think it's a bit unfair to have a baby and then let a nanny care for it all the time so you can go out and fun. For me having kids intentionally is your admittion that you have finished partying for the time being.

Babies can wait, you are still so young, go to america and enjoy life, if you need to move from state to state every 2 months there is nothing stopping you whilst you are just 2 adults, you won't want to do that when you are a mommy. the first few years of your childs life is hard work on your relationship, build that relationship up first and enjoy each other!

Meags it's fine . Even twice a month or once a week. It is so important for couples to have their own time alone.
