heart TTC 2012 Group Year of the ball, Year of the bump

thanks Lucy W.

I do understand and agree with what you are saying. But it's difficult to always take a back seat CONSTANTLY. his work is more important, it seems like he'd rather go out drinking with friends that have sex. seems everything is more interesting than sex :(

I do try be patient but sometimes the frustration gets the best of me.

I really do try to be supportive. I do all the laundry, housework, grocery shopping etc. He literally does nothing. I dont know when he last washed a dish or made the bed.

So I feel like since I'm giving this relationship everything, why cant he??

He is on a medication that is a combination for anxiety and depression. depression runs in his family and he is convinced he has it. he is totally reliant on the medication. I tried to wean him off and it went pear shaped. so he will just stay on them for life!!

I have found 2 places in Sandton area for therapy so I hope it'll work. They offer 1 hour per week which I dont think is enough?!

Morning girls!!

Wow, the winter is back in Cape Town. I had such a fight with my baby this morning to get out of bed and then to get her out of the house!! Shame man, I think she hates the rain and wet more than me :P

(For those of you wondering, I'm talking about my canine baby  )

Carmen, great temp hike!! FX that that's a good sign for this month.

Meags, sorry about the arguments at home. Unfortunetaly I can't give any advise because I'm also one of those people who would only do it once a week if I REALY HAVE TO. Although I've accepted that I'll have to do it more often if I want to keep my man happy and if I want a baby. But all the other girls gave great advise and it looks like you're on the right path with counseling. Good luck hun.

Taryn, I saved your chart so I'll pop in every morning to have a look. Welcome to the wonderful world of charting!!

Hayley, great news about the two follies. And about you and hubby talking things through. I'm not going to say FX for this month. I'd rather say I hope it happens for you when the time is right!!

Ilse, the Cape Town weather is awful at the moment. But I'm sure if you haven't been here for 18 months, you'll enjoy CT anyway!!

Firefly, great that you're so relaxed. I'm also going that route this month. Or trying to anyway.

Lalie, how are you doing? Still have your funny pulling sensations? When are you going to start POAS?

To all the other ladies I've missed... Hi!!

AFM, I can start POAS today for my OPK's. Or actually PIAC (pee in a cup :woohoo: ) as I'm on CD9 today and I've been ovulating on CD12 for the past 3 months I think. Started the BD marathon a little early  , but hey, you know what they say... Practise makes perfect.

Taryn - I'll go have a look at your chart and post again a bit later.

Meags - From what I can read and understand your DH is in a vicious circle. He is obviously on meds because of his stressed work (by the way why anti-anxiety and not anti-depressants, anxiolytics are addictive!!) Now the meds and stress will both be having a SIGNIFICANT impact on his libido and his ability to perform. With the whole oxford street thing etc he is probably feeling inadequate and unfortunately I think you have been adding pressure and feelings of inadequacy with baby talk and sex needs and out of love feelings etc. I am not saying he is right! But I think you need to be the bigger person (woman so often are in marriage - in my opinion of course) and step back from it all. You need to forget your needs for now and get him right, make him feel safe, make him feel loved, appreciated, important and like he is the centre of your world. Let him feel like he is getting something in his life right.
You WILL reap the rewards and more. You will only be able to address your needs when he is coming from a stronger place.
I hope I have helped and not made it worse and not come over too strong!! By the way I am approaching 40 and my sex life is way better now than in my 20's. Just remember you are newly married and still adjusting to each other. The first year of marriage is hard enough without the extra pressures you have both had. Good luck and I am thinking and praying for you.

Morning ladies,

Hope everyone is well, and had a good weekend... :)

Meags, sorry to hearabout DH... My hubby is pretty much the same, im 25 and he's 32 and yeah, i feel as though i have a terrible sex life, causing many disturbances in our marriage... But we are sorting it all out

Ilse, glad you looking for to your vacation, enjoy and just relax...

Taryn, Lucy, Capi, Kimika and Firefly how you ladies doing? Laliek, how you feeling friend? Almost time to test, holding thumbs!!!! :)

I believe Chris is waiting to see the Dr for her very first scan, Chris, where are you??? Cant wait to see your post about your twins!!!! :P

AFM, hubby and i had a good, long chat over the weekend, we are prepared to work out our marriage and not concentrate so hard on falling pregnant, if it happens, it happens... :) Still went to the gynae to see what's up and if everything is ok incase we do fall pregnant... On Friday,CD 12 had to see my gynae's partner, Dr Burger, what a fantastic guy!!! Hubby seems to like him and he shows more passion in what he does,he did a scan and mentioned it was alittle early, can i pls come back on Monday morning, CD 15 and he seems to be very happy, so thanx to the 100mg Clomid this month, i have two nice follies one measuring 23mm and the other is 19mm with a linning of 6.6mm... He wanted to give me the injection to force ovulation but i had to pay myself and it was just over R300.00 and i had no cash on me, so i didnt do that, which is ok... So, when i do fall preggies i will be sticking with this gynae as he is terrific!!! He also meantioned there is a possibility of twins for me this month, but only a small chance, so not worrying about that... Just happy that all is looking good...

Morning ladies!

Hope everyone had a very nice weekend. Mine was very relaxing and I must add that I was thouroughly impressed with Bafana's performance on Friday. Didn't expect that! Anyways, the vibe was so nice, had loads of fun!

Otherwise not much, still a while until our BD marathon starts, however, wouldn't hurt to practise so long ;)

Carte Blanche Medical TONIGHT at 7pm! They are asking the question if we as SA women are really empowered to choose between natural or c-section birth. They are also talking about the human pappiloma virus (it can cause cervical cancer) and the vaccine against it. I must brag - I worked on that while I was still doing vaccine development :-). And then thirdly, it is the 14th, so I think tonight it must also be the insert on the TB project at the CSIR - the interviews etc with my colleugeus.

Then tomorrow, we are going to CAPE TOWN!!!!! :woohoo: First time in 18 months (since we had to move to Pta from the Cape) that I will be there again. Can't wait!!!!

Kimika - my testing date will be 9 July.

Meags - give your hubby time to adjust to the idea. Plus, you guys haven't been married very long, remember it is also a huge adjustment to get married. Good luck!

Everyone else - hi!!! Loads to finish today and tomorrow morning before our holiday!
