Firefly, I hear you. Unfortunately this has been a problem for about 18 months!!!!

He use to be very into sex and then he got promoted and was very stressed and Oxford Road collapsed in Rosebank (his site) and and and...

then he got promoted again, more stress and deadlines werent being met and and and...

then he flippin got promoted AGAIN and here we stand...18 months of arguing about sex!!

I never thought at the age of 24 I'd have a worse sex life than a 40 yr old....

Hi ladies :)

I've been following whats happening here over the last 2 days but everytime I've tried to post from my blackberry it doesn't go through!

Hayley - so sorry to hear about dh. I agree with the other ladies, your marriage comes first. And I think counselling is an excellent idea.

Ika and Tracy - sorry about AF

Vix - I think it's great you support your team :) just don't bash our boys. we know they prob won't go far, but we do love to support them. And they're doing their best. they did us proud in the Mexico match, at least we got a goal to scream about! :)
Btw, JP Morgan predicted, statistically speaking, that England will be the winners of this WC, so you shouldn't lose hope :) (although they did seem to struggle against the US!)

Meags - I just turned 25 and DH is turning 29 next month - pretty close to you guys, I think?
Sounds like your dh is a bit overwhelmed at the thought of having a kid now? Has he always had a low sex drive? If not, then his unwillingness to have sex now is probably solely baby-related. I think it's good that you've started talking and thinking about it now.

My theory is this: I think that some people, (like me :)) want kids and are excited about having kids but the thought of it is a bit terrifying - because life changes so drastically. This fear isn't going to stop you from having kids, but it does mean that at some stage, you just have to learn to accept the fear and perhaps accept that there will always be a tiny part of you -as excited as you are - that is afraid. I think its natural. Maybe because I like to think that I'm not too much of a freak :)

DH might not be ready about it now, but over the next few months, because you're talking about it, he'll think about it and think about it and maybe see some cute babies somewhere and some cute baby clothes in the shops and slowly he'll start getting excited and more accepting of the idea. Though if he's like me, he'll still be slightly terrified.

I'm not sure if any of this makes sense at all?

h-buzz - have you set out on your holiday with your mum yet? :) glad that you're coming to jhb, the soccer atmosphere is so much fun!

fawhaway - between your dh's moods, your monster in law, your lo, your rabbits and now your mango tree that I imagine awash with flames, your life sounds very colourful!:)

AFM ladies, we're in the middle of the fertile days, of perhaps on the outer edge of them. I've been rather relaxed this month and I like it :) Not keeping track of which cd I'm on, but rather bd-ing for the sake of fun. I think we've covered my fertile days though, so we'll see what happens come June 24th! And as for the scholarship, they were supposed to let me know by last Friday and they didn't...suspense..suspense...so I'm still waiting for the reply :)

Hi Laliek, Chan, Tanz, Cappie, Kimika,Lucy and everyone else!

Keep well everyone!

ka pls tell me (or other ladies!!) who's husband is like mine?

I feel so alone and like I am the only lady in the entire world who's husband is not excited about the idea of BDing every second day. once a week is enough for him and this doesnt make sense to me since men are suppose to think of sex every 30 seconds and get an erection every 30 minutes during their sleep.

He is on anti-anxiety meds that lower his libido and I know his job is very demanding and stressful, but the other guys on the site dont seem to have this problem??

I have spoken to all my friends and I really am alone in this :(

I feel so depressed and start thinking irrationally :(
We are going to go to therapy because I feel like I'm starting to fall out of love :( I am so stressed he will never be able to give me a baby and ONLY because he simply doesnt want to have sex.

He says we'll have sex during the week. I can put money on it that we wont. Unless I initiate it. And I point blank refuse.

We do communicate openly about all this. My feelings are no secret! I have told him I'm losing interest and that I feel so guilty for feeling this way. so that's why we've decided to go for therapy

Ooo some activity around woohoo :woohoo:

Meags, I agree with Lucy about just communicating to him how you feel.. tell him you are very broody and would love to fall preggie now, but you respect how he feels as well and will wait it out. Then tell him exactly how it works and that you are only fertile a certain time of the month and that the rest of the time you guys can go for it without condoms ;) About the withdrawal, we did that for loooooong and it worked for us.. but I wouldnt put my last cents on it cause there is some semen leakage during foreplay etc :S And also in the heat of the moment you might just take too long to withdraw and KABAM you have 2 lines on your HPT  hehe

And I just have to say it: I soo admire you for actually dressing up B) My hubby would just have loved that but Im sorry to say that Im like your hubby only really in the mood once a month.. eish.. I think people just differ in sex drive and that you have to work with each other to get a happy medium. There are other ladies here who's hubbys also feel like yours :)

Taryn, what I do is to just copy and paste the link right at the top where you put in the www part :) Are you starting tomorrow morning?

Well it's just frustrating. He was embarrassed by not being able to keep it up and I was embarrassed cos I'd dressed up in a nurse outfit and was trying EVERYTHING to make it work and it was doing nothing...

But then I have to be the bigger person and tell him it's ok, these things happen, we can try again another time etc etc.
Never mind that I'm hurting too :(
However, I cant keep my feelings quiet, so I explain all this to him that it's not always about him and although he was upset, so was I.

So we did talk and he then said it was all the other distractions and he thinks the coffee made him feel sick, he was shaking...

So tonight I ask if we can try again and he says "no....not tonight...and carries on watching '17 Again' !!!!!!!"

I feel like if I never intitate things, we would have sex once a month...and yes, I have said this to him and he just denies it. But it really is like that and deep down I feel like I will never have a baby :( :( :( :( :(

Marinda, he doesnt want a baby now, and we agreed we'll wait. But I do not feel like I have to buy the condoms. I have been responsible for more than 3 years, it's his turn now. and I told him every week to buy the bloody things and his excuse is since I buy the groceries, I should just buy them.
I do everything for him and I just simply refuse to do this too
