Trisomy babies

We get the 1st set of results Thursday - Trisomy 13, 18 and 21.

The rest we only get 1-2 weeks after.

How did they know your baby had Edwards? Was it picked up by a scan? and then amnio?

Will definately keep you in my prayers. Please stay positive - I know the wait is the worst, all sorts of things go through your mind. If I can give one little bit of advice, rather research children living with trisomy, so much more rewarding.

did they say how long you would have to wait for the results. We took the long one where we had to wait three weeks, more conclusive

Last week we found some markers for trisomy 18 at my 20 week scan. I had an amnio done and now we are just waiting for the results.

We have been reading alot, and most stories are sad, but its such a relief to read your story!

Sorry only replying now, as you know the last tow weeks have been, well lets just say not so great The week before last Lior was in hopsital for bronchial pnuemonia and then last week we had the g-tube and nissen done. Lior is in a lot of pain and it just seems as though nothing helps, but I guess over time it will come right, it has only been seven days since and it was a pretty major op. So at the moment living on very little sleep and lots of tears, but other than that all good.

ah shame poor little pumpkin - he missed his mommy. Is this the first time you have left him alone, then again he doesnt really know aunty Charm ddoes he. Glad you had a good time.

Lior is doing well, a little crabby but well. We saw the surgeon, it went well. He sent Lior for x-rays to see how bad the reflux is and he has suggested doing the nissen fundoplication and the g-tube he is happy to do. Has no problem with the fact that lior has trisomy.

We had him booked in for Monday, but the medical aid wants a motivational letter, which we can only get by friday and it takes 72 hours for it to be approved once the medical aid has received the letter and then there is a possibility we will have to come up with nearly R9000 by Monday for co-payments and that crap for the medical aid. We will see, when I phoned for pre-authorisation today nothing was said about that, so when they approve I am going to have to ask, dont want to rock up at the hospital and then they ask me where the money is so it may be put on hold for a little while. For the time being we have rescheduled for the 14th.

The party went off quite well and hubby enjoyed himself he was quite drunken too...
At around 10 i felt we had to get home... A hour later i was just about dragging hubby out there...
Only to find that when we got back to aunty charm house blake was awake and really sobbing.... He just wanted me... Of course his dad felt a little sad about this... anyway, he was stuck to me like glue for the rest of the night, didnt wanna go near the cot yet alone anyone else! He slept with us in the bed and any slight movement i made he woke up! Since sunday he has been waking up around 10 just crying and waiting for me to console him, then he sleeps right threw till the next morning again.

How has Lior been?
