Trisomy babies

Sorry I am only replying now, wasnt in the office yesterday and did not go on to the net yesterday.

The first step is for baby to breathe on her own, once she does that she will flourish. By the sounds of things she is a real little fighter and it sounds like she will continue to fight.

I do beleive that there are a lot of children that live longer than the doctors say. Most of the children that go into adulthood with this syndrome have the mosaic trisomy or partial trisomy, some children with full trisomy also live longer, but it is very rare.

It would be greatly appreciated if you could pass on their details. Thank you so much.

Butterflies the little girl has been in this the hospital for 17 days (She's only 27 days old) so her recovery went much slower than the average which is 7-10 days.
She is finally off the ventilator, and they were going to keep her off oxygen last night to make sure she can stay without it while they transfer her back to Namibia.

The mom (Helena) tried to email you but apparently the address I gave her was incorrect. Can you send it again? I did SMS you yesterday.

I wanted to mention something which may be of interest to you.
An old friend of mine who stays in the UK and cares for adults with needs - one of her patients is an adult Trisomy 18 adult. She has special needs, but she is living a fairly good adult life. And she knows another who even has a career and doing quite well.

I have asked if she can get me their details to pass on to you.

I dont think they are trying yet, I think only from next year or the middle of this year, not sure. I know Martin would love to have another one now, but Ann is hesitant, I think she only wants to start when Katie is about 3 - could be mistaken, dont take my word for it yet. What about you guys, you going to have another baba?
