Trisomy babies

She is in Cape Town at Christiaan Barnard.
It seems no tests were done / did not confirm any syndromes during the pregnancy.
They had chromosome tests done which seems to have been post birth and yesterday the surgeon was given the results after having done the heart op.
Baby is doing quite well afterwards which I believe is great news considering.
I think it would be hugely beneficial to have contact with someone whose been through it, and I'm sure you'll be able to answer some of those awful questions running through her mind and give her some perspective.

I will be trying to stay in touch to provide emotional support, and our church is already praying for the baby and the mom.

I agree, google is not a wonderful research site cause you generall just read the bad end of the stick, and not about the miraculous little souls. and it definately does help to speak to someone who is going through the same thing. I take it she had no idea through her pregnancy?

Butterflies, I just read your blog. All I can say is Wow!! What you and your family go through everyday is truly an amazing thing. Lior is a gorgeous, strong, amazing (my list can go on) boy. I just wanted to tell you that.

Got most of the cleaning and repacking done today... so tomorrow its just final finishes.

Yes the whole family is coming down, for the whole weekend! my dads niece is getting engaged.. oh what joy... they are such "happy" people.

Gigi isnt coming down but she is doing much better though i saw her last weekend... Aunty Jean is down, to look after Gigi.
She isnt really eating or drinking much anymore, cause she doesnt wanna get up to go to the loo and she doesnt wanna shower much anymore.

The clothing is mostly 6-12 months but im sure there are a few 3-6 months amongst it! Ill ask my sister if she has anything too! Ill make a plan...

does jacky know what she is having yet? How far is she?

Cheri is doing well, stopped breast feeding about 2 weeks ago...
Christoper is doing well, stomach is working well, she puts a few drops of olive oil is is bottle every second day so that really helps him! He looks identical to his daddy...
He is such a cutie pie!

Hi Butterflies.

I would like to ask you if possible to make contact with a lady whose baby is in ICU after a heart op.
She has just been told her baby has Trisomy 18. She is from namibia and here all alone. She has gotten very little info as the surgeon isnt really qualified to explain it to her, so for now she is limited to google for her info which is just an awful way to find out.

Ugh dont envy you being around all the dust and stuff, and having to do a move and that, sounds hectic, hope its all over soon. I am sure Blake and granny are having a whale of a time, and most definately stealing his granny's heart!!

You are such and angel - thank you so much. That would be much appreciated !! - I do have a lot for Lior but everything is just sooo freaking big for him. He is just and odd size, Putting 3-6 months on him is like putting 6-12 months on a new born - especially the babygro's and the 0-3 months some fit nicely, some are huge and others a bit of a tight fit so its a no win at the moment:(

Are you guys going to be here for a full weekend? Is your mom and them coming as well. I will speak to MIL I am sure she will want to come and see you guys, she really misses her sisters, she is really lonely with everyone away now. I will bring her through for a visit and then you can meet our little man and we can meet your gorgous little angel .... he is so cute. Do you know if Gigi is going to come with. I know she hasnt really been well.

Lior is doing well, he is as talkative as ever, but I dont generally get to see it or share it with him, cause by the time I get home he is completely pooped. I get about half an hour with him and then he is ready for a bath and just wants to sleep - thats on the nights that he does decide to sleep - but been good this week. Last week was hectic though
