Did you use the fine grater? If you use that they virtually cook away and then Jade shouldn't see them. I use them in meatballs and meatloaf too.

Courgettes, now there is a fantastic idea JEMS. My daughter loves them but I never thought to add them to the mince,. I sometimes grate carrots in which is great because they don't even know it's there.

Going to Hijack the topic now. Jems, I gave my Son the Cows milk last night (Ok still put the bottle in his cot) But he drank it and slept well. So from tonight his first bottle will be in a sippy cup with Cows Milk and he got his two NIDO bottles for school. I still have to wean him off the bottle and onto the cup.

2kidmamma my recipe is almost exact the same! :)

I finely chop some courgette's in and fry with the mushrooms and the kids don't even know they are eating veggies! And then they love cheese/parmesan on top.

Cherrie, I make mine like this.

saute half an onion finely chopped
Lean mince fried in a little Olive Oil
add 1 tin chopped tomatoes
some mixed herbs
a little vegetable salt
a sachet of tomato puree
2 Teaspoons brown sugar to counter the puree
My son likes mushrooms so I also fry them in the mince.
I add some water and then this all cook for about 40 minutes so the meat is nice and tender.

Make spaghetti and cut the pieces after it is cooked so they arn't so long and don't pose a choking hazard if accidentally slurpt in too fast. I mix it all together so there is less sauce to contend with.
