Morning Ladies!!

Happy to say that i'm also joining your thread!

After TTC since 2014 with one MC we were told in Aug that IVF is our only option. I'm as healthy as can be with no issues (AMEN) DH has low sperm count !

Our first cycle of IVF is scheduled to start around the 17/18th of Oct. We would then we getting meds and the schedule with scan days and things.

I'm really struggling to stop with coffee! I have increased my water intake. Some days i have two cups and other days 3. I have decided to just stop with the caffeine when we start IVF.

What supplements of you guys on? I'm currently using Pre Omega Plus and folic acid, Hubby is using Staminogro.

Those of you whom have already bought the meds and injections, what was you bill more of less?

We were told between 8 to 10 thousand?

Gosh, i really dont feel that prepared at all!
Yay! great to share!!!!!
My dosage of injections is low, as all my blood tests were clear and i have a normal cycle. the worry is my egg quality as my cycle is very short (3-4 days) and very light which they can see only once the retrieval is done, and my uterus shape and cavity so to put in embryo right at the top. and only 1 because no multiples is an option for me to be able to carry.

i googled as much as possible so hopefully, some of the stuff in the diet will help.

IVF was our last chance, which we never thought we would do. my hubby was the same. he and i both refused to believe something was wrong, we kept praying, being faithful, and trusting god for our natural conception, but after a year and some months we found out about my complications after seeing a FS, then close to 2 years later, still further issues. I have read blogs saying people tell infertile women to look to Sarah in the bible, but i dont want to be a Sarah, and modern technology can assist us :) we dont live to +100 years like biblical times lol! Hubby wasnt keen when we did the IUI and more so when it failed, so now after all we have been through he is open with the IVF but we know a miracle cant happen, this has actually made us very much realists, which is sad as i would have loved to have a baby like any normal couple with romanticism and hope, but after so long, you lose that and at least this gives us a % chance to still have a baby.

The cost is the worst!!! it makes me so angry knowing how much we spent and are going to still when other people with so much more money than us, dont even have these issues. it sux!!!!

i will keep you posted on my start day. scary but at least theres a chance now...

Wow Ladysa,

You are VERY well prepared and informed! And this is great because we could actually share our experiences as we go. Our days are not that far apart, I'm only on my second day of injections! My medication differs entirely from yours, but I'm sure that's down to each individuals' reason for infertility.

Thank you for the tips on the suggested foods to incorporate into my diet, luckily I LOVE avos and most fruit and veg so they will be on top of the list :) :P

I'm just as nervous to be very honest. The IVF process took some heavy convincing to get my husband to agree to. He is adamant pregnancy will happen if its part of Gods plan but luckily my Dr knew just what to say to get him thinking a little different.
He has now agreed to try IVF just ONCE! So if this does not work I literally need to pray for a miracle! And from a financial point of view this is putting intense strain on us so I'm really praying that this is it!!

Please keep in touch as you get along, would love to hear how it's going and share my experience with someone. Will keep you in my prayers.

Dear Ladies, so happy to have found this topic! at least there is company to share!!!

35y/o TTC#1 26months, lap/hyst, medicated letrozole + ovidrel cycles + 2x failed IUIs and name the vitamins..i've taken them all!

last step IVF, hubby is perfect, my uterine cavity is the issue

i collected my Gonal-F injections yesterday :) what a mixed emotion feeling it was. I was so anxious in September to start, but also so sad that i have to go through this really long and tearful journey, i really hoped and prayed for a miracle of natural conception, alas, it was not meant to be.

I should start my period 05/06 October and my regime is as per below:

Day2,3,4: Gonal F injection 150mg
Day5,6,7: Gonal F injection 225mg
Day 7: Scan (must not take Gonal F before scan), depending on follicle development will confirm Gonal F dosage, and i received another injection starts with a C something, but cant remember the name, and they will advise whether i need to take it or dosage or something to that effect after the Day 7 scan

Scans Days to be determined thereafter - but its normally every 2 days.
Day 9: Scan
Day 11: Scan
Day 13: Scan
Day14/15: Egg retrieval
Transfer either 3 or 4 days after retrieval depending on fertilized egg quality etc

I researched good "IVF fertility food, so going to get the stuff today after work... im not really a fruit person, so maybe will make a smoothie. I also read about royal jelly and macca - will check for both at dischem today hopefully in powder form not tablets so can add to smoothie, but i think royal jelly is only in tablet form.

Avocados
Fruit
Veggies
Boiled Eggs
Broccoli (hormone cleanser) brussel sprouts, cabbage and kale
Berries (antioxidants)
Pumpkin Seeds (zinc, iron, omega 3) FOR SPERM ALSO
Walnuts (omega 3) ¼ CUP RAW
Chard (iron) 1 CUP STEAMED OR RAW SMOOTHIES
Lentils (folate) – 1 CUP COOKED
Spinach (iron, folate, zinc, antioxidants) STEAMED OR RAW SMOOTHIES

I cannot give up on my coffee!!! Yikes, but its 1 a day at least..but will slowly try to get off.

Ladies, im so nervous excited and everything else. Lets hope and pray this is it!!!

@Leez - I def think it would be wise to stay away from the running for a little while. I still have my morning coffee at this stage and then rooibos throughout the rest of the day. My cycle is pretty simple I think because I am on Visanne at the moment so not experiencing a natural cycle . First scan next Sat then? Grow eggies grow!

Me: 24
DH:25

April 2015: Trying for #1
November 2015: Diagnosed with Stage 4 Endometriosis. Laparascopy to remove chocolate cyst and most of endo. Tubes
blocked and referred for IVF... Visanne prescribed.
Oct 2016 - IVF#1 - BFN
March 2017 - FET - BFN
April 2017 - Surprise BFP!
June 17 -Late M/C 13w4
Aug 17 - Chemical pregnancy M/C 5 weeks
Nov 17- BFP on my birthday! 13DPO BETA 201

Hi Chanti

Thank you so much for replying and for the advice. I think I'm going to stick to walking, I loved running up until now, but I don't think a 5-10km run is very wise at this stage, so will keep the 30min moderate walk for now. Still drinking my early morning coffee but will try replace that with tea from tomorrow.

Good luck for yours as well, I remember feeling the same apprehension in September while I was waiting and cannot actually believe we've started.

Your dates are a little different to mine, my 1st scan is only on day 12, with egg retrieval estimated for day 18 if all is going well.

I'll keep you updated most definitely, and would love to share in your journey when it starts so please let me know how it goes!
